a review of the TACTICAL TAILOR MALIC PACK version 3 and how i set it up. part one of two.

Pink is actually a very good colour to blend into desert environments, in the British forces during wwII we had pinkys which were land rovers and trucks used by the British special forces.
put my Alice pack onto a stansports freighter frame years ago. works really good bottom shelf folds up or down. have Molle 2 belt and straps on it.

The 550 on the bottom of the ALICE frame was most likely for hanging air items, namely the adjustable D ring attachment straps, from after having jumped the ruck out of an airplane.

That's exactly what it is for, it also allows for a hygiene kit to placed behind the kidney belt without falling out the bottom. Some guys ran a line or paracord for strength with a piece of green tape (1 inch wide a few wraps thick, enough to give it rigidity) flat over the cord to serve as a seat for items stored behind the kidney belt in the frame.
Nice find if you go with the molle ii straps make sure you go with the gen 1 straps with the plastic buckles on the back fits alot better on the alice frame. The blackhawk sof is my pack of choice on an alice frame or even the filbe on an alice frame.

After looking it up, I didn't know how closely the Malice frame is to the original Alice frame. I totally forgot about those coleman frames! Those frames were really sought after back in the mid-90's with survivalists who used both the medium and large Alice packs, a total precursor to the hellcat Alice mods today that made those packs a lot more comfortable. I think some people on the noteboards back pre-y2k even used Jansport pack frames too.

The pink straps may be from him training in an area with red dirt and the sweat/rain situation dyed the lightly colored brown red and through sun fade/wear it faded pink
I had a pair of OD green jungle boots that were stained by the red dirt so that light of a tan could easily be stained

Always good to have some spare 550 cord. Have several bits on my ALICE frame.
I was anticipating your video. very informative. Okay with that aside my 1606 frame I mentioned before in a prior comment I had to fight with a little bit to get it into the frame collar / pad of my medium ALICE pack. Not so much with my large ALICE however. Weird, anyway. I like those MALICE packs, especially the Dust / Snow flap under the lid and the pack lid itself.
Right now until I get a few more Geedahs saved up, I switched back to my MOLLE rifleman's pack. I want another ALICE pack but I resigned myself to the fact that I may wind up sending my arge ALICE to Tactical Tailor to have the upgrades I want to have done on it. The Dust Flap. MALICE lid and PAL's webbing applied. Maybe I will make a video. Lol. Thanks again brotherman, your videos give me more ideas to work with. "Semper Fi!"

It's easier to use the Tactical Tailor Super Straps for the shoulders than the MOLLE straps.

I've got a question do you shop at Walmart once a month or so in the camping section? they've got a angle head flash light kinda similar to the super old military style but it's $12 with LED swivel spot & flood modes!!!
i picked up one of those, not sure if i got it at fallapart or not. it isnt bad. has a magnetic base, i keep it on the side of the fridge.

i built my version of a malice pack once. but this is my first legit one. we should form a support group.

i got a spare set of molle 2 itw nexus buckles from a molle 2 waist pack,i was thinking about using those to replace the already worn out quick release metal system of my alice straps,do you think those plastic buckles will hold the weight of a fully loaded alice pack?
good question. i am seeing them use fastex buckles for the patrol packs now. seems sketchy to me but i havent heard of one failing. in your case, that buckle is a good bit bigger isnt it? give it a try...do a video on it. i would love to know how it goes. good luck.
