    We need one a these on our breaking plow. We have a couple fields that always bring up clay. When it dries it gets hard as a rock and then you cant do nothing with it.

    We are injecting a soil fumigant called Telone for control of nematodes. Another thing to mention is a couple days after this was
    filmed we found the lower control arm ball joint on the front end worn and out of place. You can see when the tractor is coming
    towards the camera the tow in on the front right wheels is off center.

      Yeah I noticed that first thing. I thought maybe the camera made it look that way. If that's a ILS front end, it won't be long before that entire knuckle needs replaced. Let's hope not.

  • @jam2190

    Why are the one front tires, look like they're turned towards the tractor, while the other side was pointing straight, at the start, when its coming towards the camera

    • @terrellfarms1
      @terrellfarms1  3 года назад +1

      They had a tie rod end problem that was not caught for a couple days. It was replaced and corrected.

    What is the point of a reverseable plow? That seems like a lot of lost field time reversing the tractor and plow to make the return pass.

    • @terrellfarms1
      @terrellfarms1  4 года назад +2

      There are a lot of reasons for them. No dead furrows is the main reason. Surprisingly if you were plowing in an irregular shaped field or a large field you would take a lot more time driving to the next furrow than it takes to turn one of these rigs around. Most of the fields in our area are round or irregularly shaped, we have very few square fields. Plus with the larger drawn moldboard plows you have to have huge headlands that would have to be plowed in as well.

    • @robertpayne2717
      @robertpayne2717 3 года назад

      Even on a square field you without a reversible plow you have to do to much traveling on the headlands we had a field that took about 5 days to plow with a 6 bottom one way plow was a trick to minimize dead furrows took alot of time to lay out all of the lands

    • @cdjhyoung
      @cdjhyoung 3 года назад

      @@robertpayne2717 You and my experiences are quite a bit different. Once we laid out the lands in a field the first year, it was easy to find and re-establish them the years after. I think our steps between lands were balanced well enough that we didn't spend very much time turning around on the headlands. Just my memories. I haven't plow field since 1987...

    • @lawnfarmer
      @lawnfarmer 3 года назад

      You can leave more room at the headlands and never stop to turn around and come back to do the headlands when finished.

    • @terrellfarms1
      @terrellfarms1  5 лет назад

      Either Telone or Chlorapicrin. Its a soil fumigant to control insects and diseases in the soil.

  • @coreytrout3857

    • @terrellfarms1
      @terrellfarms1  5 лет назад

      They are applying a soil fumigant. I think it is Telone or some generic of it. Yea, I like to show that the land is different in different parts of the country. We're sandy and flat for the most part.

    bonjour. bel ensemble.belle vidéo. chez moi en françe je n' ai jamais vu de charrue en planche reversible, mais je trouve ça bien. part_ contre j'aimerai savoir a quoi sert la cuve jaune que vous avez a l' avant de votre john -deere. merçi a l' avançe de me repondre en français si s'est possible.pierre france. congratulations.

      La cuve sert à transporter le fumigan qu'Il injecte ds le sol lors du labour pour tuer un nematode

    • @bluc7555
      @bluc7555 3 года назад

      Moi aussi je trouve les charrues réversibles en planche pas mal, car elle se tire hors raie et le tracteur travaille comme avec n’importe quel outil de travail du sol; mais je suis assez surpris de la très/trop grande profondeur de travail. Depuis 30 ans en Fr. on a plutôt tendance à labourer peu profond pour ne pas diluer la matière organique et ce n’est pas le cas dans cette vidéo. D’ailleurs dans toutes les vidéos avec des charrues planches reversibles cette profondeur est importante. Jamais vu de vidéos avec labour light
      I also find the reversible plank plows interesting. you pull this tool off-line like any other tillage tool. But I am very surprised at the very / too great depth of work. In Fr, for 30 years, we have rather a tendency to do light plowing so as not to dilute the organic matter. Besides, every time I see an identical plow in world video, the depth is always very important ...
