I remember watching (Breaking Dawn I think) at my old job, imagine the look on my face when we saw that whole fight sequence, and it turned out to be a vision Alice had shown the bad guys to basically say “Hey, if we fight, y’all are losing 😜”. Like hearing the ending the author originally wrote really explains why the movie went with the “fight” they had. It was so goofy 😭

after getting older...I now realize that Edward is the lesser of two evils but I still hate them both. Edward is a controlling creep, yes i know, but Bella is into that. Jacob, on the other hand, IS A 16-YEAR-OLD MASTER MANIPULATER WHO TRIES TO MANIPULATE BELLA AND MAKE HER FEEL BAD FOR NOT WANTING A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. I got the 4 the books for free as a pdf, And read the not so great ones like Life and Death and short second life of Bree Tanner.
I felt a bit bad for pirating so I bought midnight sun on a huge discount, the book is so boring that it cures amnesia so It's a good investment.
i have a distinct curiosity to know if he’s seen the MOVIES ? because i feel like he would hate Bella’s character so much more. shes more like-able in the books in my opinion… still didn’t like her in the books but shes better !

I'm so sorry you had the unfortunate experience to read this series. I (sadly) grew up on these and recently reread them, all i can say is a had a similar experience.
I’m an original “Twi-hard,” and now as an adult, I can’t get through reading the first chapter. But as a teenager, Twilight was such a fun era to be a part of with friends! 😂
(And I’ve always hated Breaking Dawn. They made it slightly more entertaining in the movie than it was in the book-they knew BD was bad.)

When Twilight was popular it reminded me of John Carpenters In the Mouth of Madness a film that I watched when I was a teenager and revisited a few times when Twilight was popular because it reminded of the author and fandom and what made that film so scary how close it was to what was happening at the time because it was on point and got so much right. I highly recommend it because John Carpenter got it right again.

I used to like Twilight when I was younger but now that I am older I realized so many things I didn’t before. Like how toxic the relationship is, the storyline doesn’t always make sense, and it was somewhat poorly written, etc etc yet I couldn’t put the books down when I read them the second time when I was older lol. It was still a book you couldn’t put down. I don’t plan to read them again now that I’ve them twice that’s for sure.

yk when u wake up with a slight scent of a song in ur head but u cant seem to remember what stunt ur brain is pulling on u now. so u just try to keep going with that shit stuck in ur mind until it finally hits u. it could be days since it first taunted u but it might as well be weeks and by the moment u remember the song its been with u for so long u develop some kind of attachment to it even though it haunted u for eternity. thats the characters in twilight.

I’ve only read the first book, and midnight sun. Everything else is just the movies. So I can assure you, nor can EYE get through New Moon, the movie. I did it once, and never again.
EXACTLY. When i red them i was in the target, but i did that for my ethics. Everyone was shitting on that saga (i was siding with the potterheads), but they were not reading it and I can't criticise a book i didn't read so i thought, fuck it, I'm gonna read the first so i can shit on them as well. It was hard finish the first, i did it because i needed to, but then i discovered that Bella tries to kill herself a lot of times and that made me read the second. After that it kinda caught me, not gonna lie, i was perfectly in the target after all, and i read the third and i just remember Jacob heating Bella and thinking the worst things while her icy boyfriend coud read his mind. That was funny as shit for my 14-yo self. But in breaking down i broke down, after vamps-Bella tries to kill Jacob's friend i couldn't do it anymore. So i understand perfectly how you felt and thanks for representing so well
