I always thought Beach family wanted the truth and accountability more than the money. The Money is/was the mechanism to get to the truth and bring accountabilit.
I think they’re claims are vexatious in that the ambition for this family is to garner as much money & sympathy as possible! The company that rented the vessel is the 100% responsible party. They sold the alcohol to minors and Paul may not have been culpable if he and this accident would well have been avoided. Murdaugh is a murderer for sure, yet people in USA sue over everything. The only people getting wealthy here are the Law firms. Thanks for the update
I’m not surprised at this. Alex is going to look for any technicalities to exonerate himself from responsibility in this case. For goodness sake he killed his wife and son to try and relieve himself from it. From all of it. At this point he’s just playing games. Tinsley is a bulldog who wasn’t afraid to stand up to the Murdaugh crowd. Few others can say that. I sincerely hope after all the hard work he’s done on this case, he’s able to see it through.
About the weight and height thing: South Carolina drivers' licenses get updated only every five or ten years and people's weights and looks change in the interim. Height, too, can change: people in late teens may experience the later stages of growth spurts; and on the other end, post-menopausal women experience bone loss and loss of height. Just for example, look at a photo of the late Queen Elizabeth II standing next to Melania Trump and basically being only waist-high to Melania. In any event, South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles neither weighs people nor measures them when issuing their drivers' licenses but just takes their words for it. People can be wrong on their estimates of their own heights and weights; and some lie about them. So, to expect a convenience store clerk to measure and weigh every alcohol customer and check that against arbitrary numbers on a driver's license is UNREASONABLE. Most significantly here, ALL Paul's "friends," including Mallory Beach, knew Paul was going to buy alcohol with his brother's driver's license and acquiesced in that, if not egged Paul to do it. Finally, remember that the woman who drove drunk and killed Senator Thurmond's daughter got only probation and, apparently, no one sued her. Ironically, the solicitor then was none other than Dick Harpootlian; and people were accusing him of being too tough on a drunk driver because of who the victim was. Harpootlian's successor, Barney Giese, got caught driving drunk on the wrong side of the road but did not serve any time either. The list goes on. There simply is, or was, much tolerance for drunk driving in South Carolina. As a non-drinker, I hope that culture changes. Tinsely is just a ambulance-chaser who lied on the stand in the Murdaugh murder trial, he lied saying Alex would have had to turn over the financial records immediately and the case would go to trial in a couple of months. Blatant lies.

@shaunnal2560 I do believe a store that illegally sells alcohol to an underaged purchaser, who didn't legally provide a personally, accurate legal ID of his, or her own, do have some legal accountability for injury, and death. I believe Paul provided an ID (his brother's), and it was illegal of Paul to present someone else's ID as their own. Buster was legally responsible too, because he didn't ensure that an underaged teenager (his brother) did not have access to his ID to illegally purchase alcohol. Also, the seller of alcohol had a duty to determine that the ID presented could not be used by the underage presenter, to allow, and justify the illegal purchase of alcohol from them! Sherrey
Mark Tinsley has done a lot of work on this case. That would be a real slap in the face to be thrown off this case now. It seems like the other side is afraid to go up against him. I'm curious how the judge will decide this?
I never understood how I could be personally sued if my adult son was operating my boat and he and a bunch of under age kids were drinking on that boat in my absence. Paul should have been on the hook for all of that since he was an adult who took that boat. Did his mother even know he had the boat? Plus, those kids were old enough to know they were committing a crime when they indulged in underage drinking.
As the owner of the boat, Alex Murdaugh can be held accountable. Same thing if someone is driving your car. Sometimes you’re even liable if they took it without permission. Depends on the specific case.
It can only be done if the plaintiff can prove the adult had prior knowledge of the teens frequent, underage drinking & propensity or habit of driving (car or boat), while under the influence. Imagine someone telling you they wish to become a school shooter & you say, “Here, you can borrow my AR-15”. Granted, this is a dramatic example, but you get the point. In this case, the Beach Family have more than enough evidence to win against the Murdaugh fam. Hence, the reason Buster & Maggie’s estate settled the claims against them. Alex M & Parker’s are the only 2 defendants left.
Because he knew Paul had a drinking problem and even contributed to it. He also went out of his way to cover up the fact that his son was driving the boat. You can’t hand your keys to a drunk driver and say go for it and not expect to be held accountable.
Any adult that has teenagers can be sued for most anything. Parties at homes with homestead exceptions can be. If adults leave teens at home and they bring alcohol and someone drives home drunk and crashes from that home after a party can. Also I hav a friend who was riding a motorcycle and a dog ran across the street in front of him. He crashed and broke a leg, and totaled his motorcycle. The neighbors said the dog belonged to a man on the street. And his home owners insurance was sued for 150,000 dollars for a new motorcycle and damages to his leg . This was in the 80s when money went a longer way.
No criminal charges. it is a civil case Parker’s is a large business and IMO a payout would not bring down the company. It would hurt, but would not bankrupt company.
@@North_West1they also have insurance to cover these kinds of things, so I don’t know why they’re dragging this out so hard. This guy is a menace. You can’t sell alcohol to minors and not face the consequences.
I thought the clerk carded Paul but Paul used his brothers old id. So my question is, did the clerk know who Paul was and knew his age or did they not know him and thought he looked enough like the I'd to sell him the booze. If he knew him then they are culpable but if not then I just don't see how a store is held liable for following the law. Hell, if ya look at my 🆔 that's due to be renewed, I don't look like the pic, so it's possible the clerk looked and said, um ya ok. So my question is, did the clerk know who he was.
@@Lexielouwho you are right about them carding him, I forgot that part…lol. From what I understand he’s not the only one and they need to be accountable for that. I don’t look like like the ID I have either.
@@LexielouwhoMu understanding is that Tinsley has a significant amount of evidence showing this is the custom & practice of that Parker’s store. They sold to kids repeatedly.
@@Lexielouwhothey’re not supposed to just glance at the ID. That does nothing. It’s their legal responsibility to make sure that ID is correct. Why are they also going after the bar that served a minor shots of liquor!! Dram Shop! I don't even see where they ID'd him....but even if they did - they served a minor and let him leave drunk - and shortly after had the crash!! I don't understand - go after the bar also!!
Tinsley is a hero. If not for his dogged determination the Murdaugh clan would still be alive and intact doing their usual. And I still think timing of the grandpa's death was very "convenient". Was Alec left alone with him in the medical facility?
Was wondering how and when they would go after MT. Any excuse to bring another into disrepute. Parker corp broke the law too, enough guilt to go around. Poor Malory R.I.P. 💟
Every damn person in that boat that night should be charged with this girls death !!!!!!!! They all had a choice to not get on that boat knowing he was to drunk to drive. To me they were not really good friends because no one made a stand to help their friend !!!!!!! They enjoyed all his toys, money and adventures !
@@levithewonderdog335 they might have been 18 and a “legal” adult but we all know that kids under 25 continue to make poor choices because their brain is not fully developed. Yes, he shouldn’t have been driving the boat but this wasn’t new to his friends. Sad sad day that they all will have to remember 😞
People that age believe they are invincible and nothing bad will happen to them. I’m still suffering the effects of getting into a car with a drunken driver and it’s been decades.
You can't charge the passengers with a crime because of the driver is driving drunk. There is no accountability to anyone except the one driving the boat. Also, Parkers does bear some responsibility for negligence in selling the alcohol, as does the bar they all drank at.
They were teenagers! You remember what it’s like to be a teenager, right? You don’t know the nuances behind the friendships of these kids. A small town, they all grew up together, went to same school etc. Please don’t go there!
My big question is and was: Paul, in court. What would have been his sentence? Being 19, can you hold parents accountable for millions, for just owning the boat? Boat being in Alex' name. There was fighting about the steeringwheel of the boat between Paul and Connor. All six drank on the boat. All six used to party and drink together. I live in Europe. Drinking age 18. I know US is still 21, but that is old. Kids drink 17, 18, etc. I cannot blame a driver, if my daughter gets into a car willingly, with a drunk driver and they get an accident. Summer now, and my daughter spends time on boats, if something happens, and she partied willingly on the boat with friends, no way, I can sue the driver of the boat. Or his parents.
Paul Murdaugh was charged with multiple felonies: boating under the influence resulting in the death of Mallory Beach and serious bodily injuries to two passengers, but was later killed by his father. Alex Murdaugh is included in the boat case, also, because, although owner of the boat, Murdaugh is also responsible for raising Paul in a family culture where they condoned his drinking to intoxication when he was a minor, when it wasn't legal for him to drink alcohol. Paul, and his friends had free, and frequent access to alcohol+ at his home, so his parents were complicit with underage alcohol use, and abuse! Murdaugh, as well, acted poorly after Paul crashed his boat, and at hospital, Murdaugh was going room to room, trying to speak with his son's injured friends waiting for medical assessment and/or treatment. In a deposition, Connor Cook, Paul's friend, said Alex Murdaugh told him that he "didn't need to tell anyone who was driving."(the boat). A security guard at the hospital noted that he overheard Alex say on his cell phone, "She's gone. Don't worry." An attempt was likely being consciously made by Alex Murdaugh, a lawyer, to create confusion about who drove, and crashed the boat that night, and then hide the evidence that it was his son, Paul who actually crashed his boat, killed Mallory Beach, and injured his other passengers. If your daughter gets into a car (having drunk alcohol, or not), and the driver is intoxicated, the driver does have some legal responsibility if he drives while intoxicated, crashes, and injures any of his passengers. If your daughter goes on a boat, and either drinks alcohol on board, or not, the driver of that boat, if intoxicated, faces the same responsibility as the drunk driver of a boat, as if he was the intoxicated driver of a car, if anyone is injured, or killed, as a result! Your daughter really needs to be quickly, and effectively educated on the risks of driving in a car, or on a boat, if the driver has been drinking, at all, and may even be intoxicated! She should never choose to drive with a driver who is drinking alcohol, full stop! She also needs to know the risks she also faces if she, herself, chooses to excessively drink alcohol! Unfortunately, if your daughter drinks to excess, her ability to reason, and make appropriate decisions, in regard to travelling with drinking, and intoxicated drivers is further negatively affected! You absolutely could sue a drinking driver for a crash that injures, or kills your daughter, and there may be others legally responsible also, like the vehicle, or boat owner, parents of the driver, the establishment who sold the driver an excess of alcohol, etc. I sincerely hope you recognize how vital it is to immediately educate your daughter on the risks of alcohol consumption to excess, and how she should never personally drink, and drive, nor accompany anyone else who chooses to drink, and drive! It is absolutely never worth the risks, and choosing instead to get an Uber, taxi, bus, or an alternate way home with a sober driver is always the safest choice for her! Please encourage your daughter to be safe, please! Sherrey

Imagine bootlicking for a corporation after they contributed to the delinquency of a minor who then killed someone. Oooof. Oh and also, they may look similar, but Buster is much taller and heavier than Paul was. It doesn’t take many brain cells to figure out that’s not him. And Paul didn’t steal it, Buster gave it to him and they all knew he used it. They also have all supplied him alcohol as well as his underage friends. Foh.

Now if they knew who he was and let it pass, then that's a different story. Can anyone answer this for me cause I dont see how the store is liable if their clerk followed the law.
@@cynthiaonofrio9203 I don't see why that would matter if he presented the fake ID every time he was carded, so long as the clerks believed the ID to be real. If they properly carded him each and every time, what difference would it make if he bought beer one time or 50 so long as they did their job and carded him? @@Dede-h2j I'd imagine the store has video proof the clerk carded him which should absolve the clerk of any legal action provided the clerk did not know his true identity and true age.

Sadly there was a tragic death in the boat crash. But quite frankly, those individuals had a choice not to get back into that boat after it docked, they were all participating in drinking alcohol. Surprisingly no one was even charged with underage drinking and should have been. Those friends lived very well off of Paul and his family and surely not the first time they all did this.
Wow!! This was not simply, just a tragic accident! It was criminal behavior by an underaged drunk, and teenaged boat driver, resulting in serious injury, and death! There are contributing factors that resulted in these teens making poor decisions; it doesn't absolve those ultimately responsible, however! There were others who were legally responsible besides Paul, like Alex, his wife, Buster, the alcohol seller, etc. Yes there was underage alcohol consumption, but likely law enforcement decided, under the circumstance, that these teens had been involved in such a horrendous situation, and charges for underage drinking weren't appropriately punitive, nor the way to teach the teens the law pertaining to drinking alcohol before the legal age was not going to be achieved legally, but situationally. That was a empathetic, and compassionate decision by law enforcement towards those who had violently lost one of their friends by death, and incurred injuries to others. To say that Paul, Buster, and their friends benefitted greatly by Alex's, and his wife's creation of a free, and underage family culture of illegal alcohol consumption, and abuse, physically, and financially, for their teenaged sons, and friends is absolutely disgusting! Wow, that is extremely insensitive, and incredibly heinous, considering how that unacceptable, and complicit behavior by the Murdaughs actually contributed to the decision making, and reason that failed all of these teenagers that horrible night! That is absolutely shameless, Sherrey
I don’t mean to be mean, but this poor girls family wants money because her daughter went on a boat with friends, which she had done many times, they all were drinking, again which they did before. And somehow it is someone’s fault? This is the classic… my kid made really stupid decisions and now you owe us.
I'm sorry, but you do appear mean, extremely callous, and very insensitive! The family of Mallory Beach are definitely entitled to ask for legal responsibilities of all of those accountable for their daughter's violent death at the age of 19, criminally, and civilly! They deserve justice for this premature, heinous loss, and a civil action serves more than just a financial resolution, but receiving a monetary settlement is certainly still legally justified. The poor decision making skills, and immature reasoning abilities of these teenagers have been negatively affected by many things, not the least of who were actually affected by the Murdaugh parent's creation of the free, and illegal 'culture' of financially, and physically providing of, and being complicit in the underage alcohol consumption, and abuse by their underaged sons, and their friends! It definitely should not be a hindrance to the Beach family to receive justice for the deplorable premature loss of their young daughter by those who truly remain legally accountable, Sherrey

Paul pulled away from the doc but Conner took over. That's what their report to police and police said that night as well. Get the police reports. Then later they changed their mind probably because Conner and Anthony Cook family are not a wealthy family...payout better for Paul and a better chance of beating it. That's the real reason they did not charge him. Not because of the Murdaugh dynasty. 🥴😵💫 This was a witch hunt and a lawyer seeing 💰💰💰.

Sherrey

Parker's should be ashamed. This could have been settled years ago.

You can't charge the passengers with a crime because of the driver is driving drunk. There is no accountability to anyone except the one driving the boat. Also, Parkers does bear some responsibility for negligence in selling the alcohol, as does the bar they all drank at.

If Alex was on much drugs there is NO WAY the people in his personal and work life didn’t know he was a druggy
Not true.
Sherrey
Are they suing the the waterfront bar that served 2 underaged young men who were already intoxicated? Did that settle?

There were a lot of hostile witnesses in this case

This lawyer is what's wrong with our legal system . Never thought I would go to trial.
Driver was not proven to be Paul Murdaugh. If you did your award winning investigative journalism you will know that the night of the accident 3 of the survivors Paul Murdaugh Morgan Doughty, Miley Altman all said Connor Cook was driving and his cousin Anthony Cook who was in the boat said he was not sure .
This was a witch hunt and a lawyer seeing 💰💰💰. It amazes me this Tenaly lawyer wanted to blame Murdaugh family for letting his son drink in their home just to increase the payout and his 💵💵💵cut wich is 30-40 percent PLUS expenses which ends up to be more like 50 60 %of the cut if not more.
He wanted to Blame the Murdaugh to get more money. In many states a parent can purchase alcohol for their teen if supervised by them. But this lawyer saw easy money 🤑💰, they are like sharks but worse.
They he saw the grocery store as more 💵💵💵in his pocket. As he said himself at the trial they usually never go to trial 😵💫🥴
But who they don't blame is the other people in the boat. For letting someone that druck drive. Both Paul and Conner were drinking. Paul was not even close to the Cook brothers Conner and Anthony. His girlfriend was friends with the girlfriends.
But in CT... Liberal state when teens allowed another teen drink and drive and he crashes they held the passengers responsible for letting someone drink that much and drive.
But this greedy lawyer Tensely representing the survivors wants to not blame them but the grocery store when he had a id and the parents of the boat when police reports show a conflict of who was really driving.

@@cail171, Alex Murdaugh ("AM") did NOT kill his own wife or his own son. I explained the PHYSICAL impossibility of that based on the REAL time of death of human beings, which is NOT the same as the time of the PHONE BATTERIES death or shut-off.
My SCIENTIFIC estimate of the time of death is NOT based on hand-in-the-armpit as that idiot coroner said. It is based on the stomach contents since the core body temperature was not taken, among the many lost-forever pieces of evidence.
Once you understand that the REAL time of death was between 9:30 and 9:45 pm, you understand how EVERYTHING fits AM's innocence OF THE MURDERS.
AM is, in my mind, clearly guilty of defrauding insurance companies and probably tax fraud, no more, no less.
God bless nonetheless.
Uh huh
Maybe the colloquialism of "burning down your house" is lost on you but please understand it's not a threat of arson! 😊
It's about taking down the Murdaugh kingdom's grip on the area!
@@machellemorris737, not only was it a LITERAL "threat of arson," actual arson had been inflicted on one of Alex Murdaugh's ("AM") houses in Hampton.
And even if it were merely metaphoric and hyperlobic, it violates South Carolina's lawyers' oath of civility to "avoid offensive personalities."
Mark Tinsley's OWN testimony that he LITERALLY said to AM "If you don't settle, .... I can burn your house down," has NO PLACE in the acceptable conduct of supposed officers of the courts.
I hope someone folds Mark Tinsley's circus of paper tigers.
The teenagers on the boat all knew and admitted in a Netflix documentary that when they stopped and all got off the boat to go to that bar they knew Paul was beyond plastered… YET They ALL voluntarily got back on the boat with him to drive… they made the wrong choice for themselves … and I would say that this is just a tragic accident with a bunch of teens making bad decisions … I would not have found Paul guilty or his family
Are you actually kidding me?? Seriously?? These were teenagers who all made the poor decisions to travel with a drinking, and drunk boat driver. Unfortunately, there are many reasons why those decisions were, unfortunately, made, but that does not absolve the driver of his legal responsibility to drive while intoxicated, crash the boat, kill, and injure the passengers, or anyone else's legal responsibility, by proven evidence, who was legally responsible for the death of Mallory Beach, and others' injuries, as a result!!! This was not, simply a tragic accident, but a serious crime involving death, and personal injuries, Sherrey!
@@timothysherreyehler5095 Personal responsibility… if you know the driver is plastered beyond anything… and you are off the boat … why would you put yourself back on the boat ???????????????!!!!!!!!
Local county boys in duck waders Alex let pauls gun go missing for that long so they could get mags and papaw and Alex wouldn’t be to blame them dogs knew they was out in the woods but hunting dogs can’t bark with a command and paw got that bird therefore ruined the scent in the woods and dogs seen a neutral threat not the camo cowboys murdoc let hunt his family on land
Parker must be employing Trump lawyers. Good luck or should I say bad luck to Parker's lawyers.
But until it does, as a believer in the Constitution, I think people should be prosecuted and sentenced by the EQUAL protection of the laws, not by rumors, mob mentality, or the self-admitted MAFIA tactics of an ambulance-chaser.
Trying to get blood from a stone.
Appears so
Um no, there's millions there. Parkers & alex is hiding it & don't wanna pay for their MISTAKES. Smh
The Tiger done bit off more than he can chew
She knew he was drunk and got on boat anyway, am sick of people making bad mistakes and the family gets rewarded, she was more valuable dead than alive is what her family is saying! Mark Tinsley makes me sick!
So is this why Alex was put on trial? Because I still have questions about whether he murdered his family.
After 12 jurors sat in court hearing and seeing evidence first hand? After the judge himself said the evidence of guilt was overwhelming? Somehow you are smarter than them. Please try to get Murdaugh released from prison!
It has been legally proven by the evidence gathered, and presented that Alex Murdaugh did, indeed, murder his own wife, and youngest son, within a reasonable doubt, by a jury of his peers! He is, in fact, a double murderer, and it is extremely unlikely this case will be overturned, on appeal, due to the absolute strength of this case! I watched the entire trial; why the difficulty believing what Murdaugh did? The motive could very well be related to the boat case, and the legal responsibility that Alex knew that he, his wife, Paul, and Buster had as regards the injury, and death that occurred; motive doesn't have to be proven, however. What Murdaugh did was deplorable, and reprehensible, and he is where he criminally belongs with a civil suit, to follow, Sherrey
I agree Tinsley disbarrd
Why? What did I miss?
@@donnagroven3345, he allegedly broke into the opponents' privileged communications and spoke to a represented person/entity in their lawyer's absence. I am NOT a lawyer; but every lawyer knows that is against ethics.
What STILL bothers me more is Mark Tinsley's testimony that he threatened to "burn" Alex Murdaugh's ("AM") "house down" to force AM to settle. That is a crime in itself and should have gotten Mark Tinsley disbarred as soon as his testimony was seen and heard on live TV.
I am still hoping South Carolina's Office of Disciplinary Counsel will wake up to the MAFIA tactics practiced in the open by some South Carolina lawyers.
I am also hoping that this stupid Julie Grant takes off that helpless imploring look off her face as if she were drowning and only her guest could save her.

@@marieassaad-faltas1299 I thought that was crazy what he said on the stand about burning his house down but I assumed he meant his house of cards so to speak. @@marieassaad-faltas1299we all love your cut and paste wall of text, but it shows a distinct lack of critical thought and knowledge of colloquial speech.
