I have bought 2 VGA to HDMI converter. VGA on the laptop (seems my company too stingy to gv the staff a laptop with HDMI port, while my company is an International IT company, so weird) to HDMI monitor. And both not working. 1 is the normal adapter where it has short HDMI cable, and 1 is direct HDMI. Do u know what could be the issue? the VGA laptop to VGA adapter cable has no issue when we tried at the shop that I wanna buy, but when we connect the adapter, its not working. what do u think is the issue?

I have an old desktop computer with just VGA output that supports 1080p on my monitor or LCD TV via VGA cable. After i bought my new Philips 65 inches smart LED i found out this TV set has not VGA connector so i bought this device you show on this video, the problem is that when using it my computer does not let run any other higer resolution but 1280x720 and it doesnt detect "Philips screen".

I've used mine on both the monitor you see in this video and on a Samsung HD 1080p TV, and it worked on both screens with 1920x1080 resolution. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.

And when I shutdown and start again, samething repeats and works for only 5 mins. TV is in working condition, CPU also working fine. Any idea about this. Pls help me.

Do you know the native resolution of your TV? Try finding out and set it up in Windows 7 to output the native resolution.

The audio cable is necessary only if you want sound on your HDMI TV/Monitor. The USB power is necessary only if you wan the device to work.
I have a VGA to HDMI converter (not the one you have here, a different one), it works, but has problems - when I'm watching videos it repeats a small passage of the audio from about 2-3 seconds previous, over the current audio, only for about half a second, then back to normal. This happens randomly every few minutes. Also, equally as often, the audio just cuts out for half a second.
My laptop is on Linux, I send it through a 5 metre cable, to my TV monitor.
Do you think it's caused by the cable being too long for the proper signal to travel, or that being on Linux causes a problem? Or any other ideas ? Thanks for any help & advice.
Not sure what the problem is. I believe you can start with the cable. Buy a smaller cable and see how it works.

After my hdmi ports stopped working on 65 inch insignia, this was a great route to take.
I can tell you know what you're doing but you could add some commentary or captions to improve your video message. If I didn't know anything about converting VGA to HDMI, I'd still not know anything after watching this. I know the device says on it what it is but ...? Where do we plug in the other end of the USB cable? Why am I plugging in the audio cable? Cheers

The USB should be plugged on a USB port that can output power. It can be from a computer, tv, or even a phone charger.
The audio cable should be plugged in the computer, on the audio output (where you usually plug in your speakers) and the other end of the audio cable will go in the converter so it can then transfer the audio signal through the HDMI cable.

I have only one HDMI input under which I have a polsat cable connected, I once bought a Switch 5x HDMI input 1x HDMI output remote control, but LG LG did not detect the device at all. If you buy a HDMI to 2x HDMI Adapter, be it HDMI SPLITTER 1 - 2 will the device be visible through LG plasma TV ??

Yes. If you take a closer look at the video, you will see that I do insert the audio jack from the computer into the converter and then the converter sends the audio signal through HDMI.

The 3.5 jack is needed for the audio signal. If you don't want to send audio through HDMI, you don't have to connect that cable. Also, you need to make sure you connect the USB power cable in order for it to work.

This one should work for any monitor that has an HDMI input. If your computer has a VGA output and your monitor a HDMI input, then you should boy the exact same device that you can see in this video.

If your laptop has that functionality, sure. If not, you can turn it off completely (from Windows settings, Screen Resolution) and just use the TV as the main screen.
