@@devotedrecords8038 I wonder how much that had to do with the two stars being part of the Brat Pack. Andrew McCarthy has put out a documentary about the Brat Pack and what it meant being part of it. They were sort of vilified at their peak. No one wanted to like anything they did. (Then again, the director thought the movie was unfairly impacted because "it coincided with that ridiculous Rob Lowe videotape scandal".)
There is a black and white version of this song. It's basically a prostitute and pimp story. The editing is fantastic. It was probably a NYU film student.
The video for Skinny Puppy’s “Who’s Laughing Now” also heavily features scenes from the movie. If u don’t know, it’s the weird industrial song when they’re in the underground club.
I just rewatched this film with my daughter since she's into Blacklist with James Spader. So I wanted to show you a young James Spader. Then i realized what I great song this is. I do remember know that it suited the scene when I saw it. But there were no Shazam, RUclips or Shazam back then ;-)
You can't be much more ignored than Lloyd Cole. After the Commotion, his first two solo records were stunning and probably more records were but I didn't keep up. "They're robbing your boots when they give you a shoe shine" . Baby, music fans are not too well read, not too pristine, and they're looking for something cheesy and schlocky when there's something better to be found. Lloyd, Neil Young, Dylan, The Replacements, The Smiths, Paul Westerberg with the Replacements, Van Morrison are where it's found.
Fully agree. The first two solo albums were really good. "The Negatives" was also good, but admittedly I didn't keep up either. Now may be a good time to catch up.
@@kornofulgur It was very good, but honestly I was crushed that he didn't sing "Lost Weekend" or "My Bag", which he'd always sang in concerts before and are big favourites of mine... That, and the drunk guy in front of me constantly gesturing and grunting, made for an experience that wasn't the best concert of his I'd ever attended
Bad Influence. Maximum creepy on VHS and old fashioned tube TV. Perfect song for LA greed and evil. Do a double feature with To Live and Die in LA. All after midnight.
I always confused Lloyd’s voice with Matt Johnson of The The and went looking fur this track in the wrong place. I found it eventually. That whole album is good.
@@sileach5724 No, it is Bad Influence, with Rob Lowe and James Spader. It is one of my all-time favorites. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
yep i agree, alot of it filmed in the dark, great scenery and songs like this fit so perfect. remember seeing it in the theater. after seeing this feel like, Trust no one. @@Peter-bu6ld
@@maxwheeler3241 I felt like the Rob Lowe caracter after the movie (even though I wasn't even close). But I loved the caracter back then (when I was young and stupid).
Blimey, all of these comments are Intellectualism of an Intellectual-like nature! Ahem: I’ve got the Album on Vinyl. I bought it when it first came out. It’s a Great Record. Don’t worry, I’ll get me coat & see myself out!
One of my all time favourites of Coles perfectly arranged great harmonica.
that layering of Hammond into the harmonica notes is really singular. don't think I've ever heard it anywhere else.
I love this song so much.
This is my shit!!!
Great song from great artist!
Bad Influence is a really great Neo Noir from the early 90s.
O 3:54 3:50 o
Seem to remember it getting panned by critics, but a friend viewed it recently said it was good, and he don't waste time with shite films.

What a great stuff ! Smacks of the 80s !
Another solid cut, massively overlooked! Like Michael Penns No Myth. I remember the simpler times. And Bad Influence(s)...
Although I'm revolted by the lyrics, they do show an intelligence of a certain kind. I admire the candour so much I fist pumped the air.
So good voice... 🎼🎤🎧 😎 🍻
great song,great movie
I fkn love this song ❤
Love this.
another clever-cool tune from a superb album, many thanks
Great song.
Must see movie on Prime now with the perfect song to go with it👍🏾
Rob Lowe's best movie ❤
Kary Lopes Yes indeed hun, I seen this over 5x. I like the era the film came out in, I'm from Texas and you?
Played a great bad guy...should of played one more often.
Kary????
Great Music! Great Time Period!!
Lloyd Cole is one of the finest intellectual songwriters of our time.
Great vibe! Sounds so much like The The from the same period… like the Dusk album. Almost identical voice even.
epic lloyd song...thanks mister cole ;)
“They robbing your boots when they give you a shoeshine” that’s NYC in the 80s and 90s !
Nao ha nenhum som de lloyd cole que nao seja bom!! Grande artista!!
Great movie!

One of most profilic songs of the the 90"s
Can you expand upon that?
Love Lloyd cole
... All I'm getting is sweetness and lies...
Good song
Reminds me of being 14
Is there a better quality / version of this video? The song is 🔥

I said the same thing then saw your comment after. Really does sound like The The.
Bad Influence...
Bad influence brought me here
How about that blues harp?
Well it's a certain kind of movie-theme.
bad influence 1990
Is it me or does he sound like Bono?
what is the movie?

Watched Bad Influence again last night. Shame about the ending which was weak......
To me it's ambiguous. I understand it needed to be more definitive dark ending since it a noir.
I hoped for a sequel
The ending was great wdym
Movie name plzzzz??
Bad Influence
Patterson dislike this video
He should've never f**ked with Michael's schedule 47
😂😂😂
