Magic song ❤❤❤ Loyd Cole should have been much more famous than he was. Excellent singer, composer, lyricist, his musicians have always been very good... From his debut with "Loyd Cole and the Commotions" then solo, his albums are of very high quality... I wonder why the public hasn't been more attentive to this wonderful artist... In any case, at 63 years old, he still sounds like just himself...his style has remained hyper personal. Excellent...🤩👍
Saw him on his solo tour last night over in the Wirral. He played this as an encore. Goose bumps. Superb singer/ songwriter and this one particularly is a gem.
I hate seeing my rock stars getting old . I saw him on stage for this album in Lyon, I think Lloyd was at the top Musically, and physically, such good looking. He s the best ever !!!!!
I learned to play bass guitar on ''No Blue Skies''. One night, I discovered that tuning my four strings was very helpful. Then the miracle happened. Bass lines came naturally. That night, I probably played 100 times this pure diamond till 5 am with a smile. I was with the angels. Music and melody have this power. This track is just perfection: LC's voice, the rhythm guitar intro, the crystal guitar sounds, the heavenly backing voices throughout the track, the lush synthesizer lines, the metronomic drumming by Fred Maher, and the fascinating outro starting at 3.34 with the bass chorus slowly chiming in. Man...still have thrills listening to it. Undoubtedly, part of the pop-rock pantheon. No debate.
I love Lloyd and Paddy for different reasons, different moods, but you are absolutely correct that they are both overlooked--especially here in the states.
Saw him in the early Nineties at a small club; Robert Quine (one of his last performances) was on guitar, and it was, for the lack of a better word, so beautiful.
brings back memories of times of less responsibilities, when there was always seemingly Blue Skies, when Censorship was something that only happened to Prince, when evil like Klaus Schwab only existed in James Bond movies, when polarization meant bipolar, and when there was an infinite number of possibilities to explore in ones Future....
Lloyd Cole - No Blue Skies You want to leave me, baby, be my guest All I'm going to do is cry And then I'm gonna find me someone else And tear the stars out of the sky Looking for something when there's nothing there to be found Make it easy on yourself Go out and find your body someone else Or tear the stars out of the sky Baby you're too well read Baby you're too well spoken Baby you're too pristine When I cry, do you feel anything? Baby you're too well read You want to leave me, baby, be my guest All I'm going to do is cry And then I'm gonna find me someone else And tear the stars out of the sky Baby you're too well read Baby you're too well spoken Baby you're far too clean When I cry, do you feel anything? Baby you're too well read You don't need me anymore You don't need me anymore They say storms are rife for summertime Well baby, I'm long gone What are you going to do when you open your eyes It's a brand new day and baby No blue skies?

music like this doesn't need support from the masses, it needs to be kept a secret. it protects its wonderment.
I love this criminally underrated and overlooked British male vocalist's voice.
why is he criminally underrated? explain that comment. TY
@@petehill8885Because he isn't as successful or popular, as he should be, here in the UK, at least, in my opinion.
@@petehill8885 and he has said he has to tour to live....

Same here but in Nice. Had a massive crush on him...
This is seriously one of the most beautiful songs of all time
Also, how handsome did he look with long hair??
Happy 60th to the legend that is Mr Lloyd Cole

Don't know why but I've been obsessed with this album for the past year or so. From start to finish, it's a bluesy melancholic masterpiece.
Just possibly his finest work.
Yeah, I love this song. The way his voice soars. Beautiful!!
I’ve never heard this track before.......absolutely love it, LC is very underrated..very much like Paddy McAloon.
I think both are quite highly rated... Sadly, they are both under appreciated.
Nailed it, two of the greatest songwriters of our time.
@@matthew4694 The best always are

The first Lloyd Cole I ever heard, and still one of my favorites. Probably his best vocals.
Very moving to hear this again. A beautiful song released in the 90s, among techno, grunge and house stuff.
Second that. Legend.
Seriously, this song is so elegant and soothing.... and so is the video. Pure class;
A tiny bit early for the grunge scene but the electro scene was exploding for sure ^^
I love the David Lynch-esque red curtain!!
This song has an intelligence of a certain kind.

One of the Best 1990 hits
J'en ai les larmes aux yeux.... souvenirs!
Ecoute waterline de lui et tu pleurera :)
My favorite song of the 90ies💖

Lloyd Cole - No Blue Skies
You want to leave me, baby, be my guest
All I'm going to do is cry
And then I'm gonna find me someone else
And tear the stars out of the sky
Looking for something when there's nothing there to be found
Make it easy on yourself
Go out and find your body someone else
Or tear the stars out of the sky
Baby you're too well read
Baby you're too well spoken
Baby you're too pristine
When I cry, do you feel anything?
Baby you're too well read
You want to leave me, baby, be my guest
All I'm going to do is cry
And then I'm gonna find me someone else
And tear the stars out of the sky
Baby you're too well read

Baby you're far too clean
When I cry, do you feel anything?
Baby you're too well read
You don't need me anymore
You don't need me anymore

What are you going to do when you open your eyes
It's a brand new day and baby

Too well read? LOL.
great intimate song...horrible impersonal video...
Foolish Musical Jester and Macromedia Flash Nerd
Going solo and putting on this faux American bad boy image was a tragic misfire for this literate genius
Really weird song
