    Good news, it's a McIntosh system. Bad news, it's installed in a Jeep.

      Agreed. I could see this in a Yukon Ultimate, but a Grand Cherokee is just…. Off.

    Who needs an hmdi input and video screen when you have Vu meters? Awesome review of something a little bit different for us automobile audiophiles.

    I'd give it serious consideration if this was installed in a Highlander Hybrid which will be on the road for a good 15 years longer than a Jeep. It was a real treat visiting the McIntosh facility and sitting in their $100,000 theater.

      They made car amps, I have 2. But it’s not cheap, a 6 channel 1,100 watt amp is about $7,000

  • @haygood9
    @haygood9 Год назад +1

    Way too much system for a Jeep, but it’s awesome. Buy the base model and instal aftermarket system, save the 23 grand

    • @brentolbrych230
      @brentolbrych230 Год назад

      You’d need 4 mc420 amps at $800 each 2 good DSP 2 input 8 output at $600 each.
      5 pairs of high end 3.5 coax $400 per pair (morel/Focal)
      A sub and enclosure $1,200 and a mcc302 amp $700 a lossless FLAC head unit $1,500 (10,000) assorted wiring $1,000 sound deadening $1,000
      Extra lithium bank $1,200 alternator $500 Now you have to try to hide 5 amps that are 13” tall, 16” long and 3” thick. 5 sheets of MDF, We’re about $15k just materials, easily $5k in labor
      It would sound incredible

    $60k !!! Anybody that spends more money on their Car than their Stereo system has a serious problem and needs to get their priorities in order. I could get so much gear with $60k!

    Some bitch about the sound system, I love mine !!! if you take your time and tweak it right, she sounds amazing. I listen to concerts, on the way to work and I forget where I am. They did an incredible job with it. When you listen to XM, lower the base a bit. I, also push the sound on click more to the rear in surround sound mode.

  • @brads9385
    @brads9385 Год назад +2

    Too bad those all those fancy features don't make the stereo system sound any better. After testing the McIntosh and the Alpine systems in person, at the Jeep dealership, I would much rather have the Alpine system, which is the stock system. The McIntosh speakers sucked. I would not pay the extra $2K for them.

      I disagree. I have the McIntosh on the Summit Reserve and the Alpine on the Trailhawk and the McIntosh is superior. Also, the Alpine is the mid-grade system, NOT the 'base'.

    • @juliocajigas9361
      @juliocajigas9361 Год назад

      I have them both not impressed at all on either of them yes Macintosh sounds better than the alpine but it’s a shame alot of money in these and in the process to upgrade the Macintosh first I guess I’m an audiophile

      I prefer the Mark Levinson system in the Lexus. Go listen to that if you haven't had a chance. As a bonus you get a reliable car.😂

    It’s also available in the Grand Wagoneer. $100,000. Vehicles are expensive enough without some extravagant Audio System.
    No thanks, I’ll pass.

    It may just be me, but I see this as a potential safety hazard.It will be a major distraction watching the meters, Plus you won't be able to hear anything outside while your driving.No wonder accidents are at a all time high. People aren't paying attention while driving.
