@ Craig, a question to you. Let's just say a player who is very good at the serve and return game. Let us assume someone of your caliber, just for argument sake. This person is just so-so / mediocre when it comes to other skills like rallying etc. His game is centered around serve and 3rd ball kill game plan. In your opinion, how far can such a player go in the game? Local league champion? Province? National? WR# 100? Can you provide a guestimate?
With the average rally being 2.4 shots, there is no question that a player with this style has the ability to be a world class player. Would it be a hard route, yes but is it possible, yes. The whole training process is about unlocking your potential. If your style and skill set is leaning more down serve and receive, that’s where you focus your super strength, that’s going accelerate your progress. Of course you continue to work on the other areas of your game too but focusing on the things you’re good at, will get you to want to be, quicker.
Ahoy Craig! Thanks a lot for the video to you and Tom! I find lots of fun in playing doubles with my guys, I shared your video to our chat with some translations. Playing doubles is a kind of higher fun and team competition at amateur's level, so for me this video is really essential. P.S.: Your pendulum (kicker?) was sick - killer serve!
From Craig video for double serve 1. Wide short serve, so opponent will return wide too, my partner should prepared 2. Backhand, long side spin serve, put the ball close on the middle line and T line, so opponent will difficult to return 3. Pendulum long side spin serve, put the ball close on the middle line and T line, so opponent will difficult to return
Hi Craig, hope you are doing well. I saw your video with Benny and that was awesome. Sorry, I forgot to congratulate you on the content of that video, hence posting it here. This content is awesome as well. If I guess correctly, this approach of half long can be used in Lefty vs. Righty match as well combined with a fast long serve to the backhand. Do you know what is the most effective way to make the serve skid on the table? I am experimenting with the contact point on the ball during the serve and thus the axis of rotation. I figured that the contact point of the ball on the table the lesser spin that particular point has or is kind of 'dead' the lesser is the bounce of the ball be is topspin serve or backspin serve. So basically a horizontal axis of rotation of the ball. Your inputs are welcomed. Thank you.
As a left hander the most useful serve for against RH and the one I hate the most against me is half long to FH, but not off the end just to the side of the table, especially if you can do reverse pendulum so t comes back towards the table. It's really hard to not loop these cross court so you can pivot early in your BH corner and go hard. For good examples Otto from pongfinity did this a lot against TTD Dan
Thanks for the great video guys. I’ve used basic robots before and they don’t really generate much spin. Does this version you used produce really challenging topspin and backspin for county level and above players ?
Hi John, On long balls, it’s very easy to adapt the amount of spin on the ball. I haven’t played around enough with it on the short balls yet. I’ll be producing some more content about the robot in the future.
@@TheTableTennisServiceGuy thanks Craig. I saw you at a fusion training camp a few years ago. I'm looking for robot that produces top and backspin that i used to encounter practicing with Joseph Hee at Fusion at the time !
That was a few years ago! Sounds like this could cater for you then. It also has many pre-saved routines as well as the ability to create your own too. So you should be able to reproduce these defence type rallies.
Craig's serves are massive massive wicked. Just looking at this video, I tremble with fear receiving Craig's serves.
😬😁

Thanks Craig very useful video, as usual. Keep on !👍💪
This is a terrific video guys !
Thank you 🙂

I try to serve Lebrun's lollipop into T, works very well, the rate of non-reception is relatively high.
No reason why that shouldn’t work well 👌
Great stuff!
Thanks for that, I must have requested it at least once or twice 😁
You are very welcome
Oh Mr. Dirtyfingerz on Bosslvl Channel! Nice 2 cya.
Tomahawks are also a good option for doubles.
I literally have a doubles tourney match 3 days from now, THANK YOU!
Good luck 🤞

Kindly also make a video on serve and attack for doubles.

What are your pong bot settings to generate these serves?
I believe it was the long push setting and then simply turn the robot head to create the side spin.
What type of bat do you use with rubber?
Check the description 🙂
Is this robot available in the UK?
Yeah, you can order through the link. Comes from China but decent delivery time and comes with a UK plug 👌
And if you are a left hand player or your partner or opponent is?
عالیبود
Nosense.
What is no sense to you Sir?
