It was awesome to listen to this again. Tbh, I hate the B plot. It was poorly written with some cringe attempts at humor, and built up a climax that we never got to see. But the A plot was EXTRAORDINARY!!! It was masterfully written, the editing and sound design was top notch, and the performances were SPECTACULAR! I believe every line by every VA in those scenes every time, and the girl who voiced Candy Mare (forgot her name, but I'll check in a minute) absolutely brought this terrifying creature to life! She dug DEEP and portrayed unfathomable malice and insanity, and her evil laughter and singing gives me chills every time. Most impressively tho, she somehow portrayed the pain, trauma and loneliness of the character in a frighteningly real way. Candymare isn't a mindless monster, or a force of nature, or a demon from hell; she's a hopelessly damaged and unspeakably depraved child. A chilling reminder that even the most innocent of souls can be corrupted by hatred and cruelty. If this wasn't a fanfiction, she might be one of the most recognized and relevant villains of our culture.
I have to agree Much like the original SSTB, the B plot kinda drags the story down, but it can still help the overall narrative! Into a truly spooky experience! And yeah, I must agree, Candy Mare isn't evil just because she wants to, or is completely off her sweet rockers... no, she's a broken and lost soul, who went through AWFUL things as a kid, and because of how cruel and heartless the world can be, she took revenge. Though I can't and WILL NOT justify what she did, even to those who didn't deserve it, it's still impactful to relate and even understand why she is this way.. not a candy monster, but a soul with that undying child-like spirit (kinda like another pink pony with an undying child spirit in her too but anyways!) Can't call them a monster, when they weren't always one, can we? 🍭🍫🍬

It's like thinking there's some kind of deep, fundamental difference between the homeless alcoholic on the street corner, and the rest of us who can "take it or leave it". Once you've truly convinced yourself of that fallacy, you won't even know the line exists until after you've crossed it.
It still hurts that Pumpkin lost her Mom the way she did! Rina Silverstone as the Candymare is amazing! CandyMare is one of the most tragic grimdark characters. I remember me and my best friend were surprised you were doing a Candymare story on your channel! We're both glad you did!

Something Sweet To Bite is my favorite MLP Creepypasta, and the CandyMare is my favorite MLP Creepypasta monster. So when I saw this, of course I had to listen to it. I have to say, I actually felt for the CandyMare when her mother passed the way she did. To hear her crying for her mama like the little filly she used to be, it broke my heart. I also really liked how the end of the story picked up some time after Something Sweet To Bite. A great tie in.
Holy Cow! This was a good but spooky watch! From beginning to end, I was on the edge of my (metaphorical) seat, so much sorrow, tragedy, horror and Candy too! This along with the original Something Sweet to Bite now have to be some of my favorite spooky stories now, and I absolutely love Candymare, she's so tragic, yet so relatable, especially with how cruel and uncaring the world can be, I just wanna give her a hug and a little candy to cheer her spirits, hopefully she can work out her issues with mom and dad, even her new friends, because after all Home is where you hang your head Just like Home Sweet Home 🏡 Wonderful work Scribbler, and the talented Knackerman too Happy Heart's Warming, and to Candy Mare too! Omg this was incredible!!! The visuals that tied into the story, the narrative, and the stunning voice acting, made this one of the best creepy pastas I’ve heard narrated. It is difficult to describe how much I adore the love and effort put into this story, it feels almost criminal that this video only has 12k views Amazing work everyone!

@@goddesszel2746 Candymare for sure. Even in canon comics Discord was never the one to be twisted enough to kill or seriously harm someone. So when he would go against the creatures that are on the same level but more wicked and cruel he's loosing.
I started that, but I just couldn't get past the first few chapters. The idea that Candymare and her horde of candy zombies destroyed Ponyville AND Canterlot, only to disappear off the face of the earth for a whole YEAR (a long with ALL the forensic evidence they must've left in their wake), and then turn out to have been hiding in the everfree forest the whole time was just to much for my already generous suspension of disbelief.

You'd think even Celestia would have been able to crack that kind of caper. Maybe the rest of the story's awesome. I have no idea. The premise just threw me for a loop. I think I left off on the bit with the flim-flam brothers.

Celestia, however, did deduce that Ponyville's destruction wasn't just an accident since Luna and part of the palace guard had also disappeared on the same night. Unfortunately a lot of the pony nobility wasted time hurling accusations at foreign powers and other potential dire enemies, including Luna herself who some thought might have returned to her wicked ways as Nightmare Moon since it happened on Nightmare Night. Celestia never believed that but the list of Equestria's enemies who could have been responsible was long indeed and while Celestia sent Shining Armor to investigate all such possibilities they come up empty handed - that is until Trixie (who in this story really is great and powerful since the story was written long before season 6 revealed her magic talents to be amateurish at best) discovered traces of a ritual of corruption and concealment after researching and translating a few tomes and tablets from old ponish which Celestia had charged her with looking into. That discovery was what had taken a year - because, yes, with an army of undead unicorns under her control and the sacrifice of a few hundred souls, the Candy Mare could definitely erase evidence of her and her armies existence as well as their ongoing work in the Everfree Forest.
