This is so good. Gore and violence is great when making a scary story but stuff like this has a special way of being extra creepy. Like the feeling of looming doom if the wrong choice is made. Love it.
A mystical forest, a village of blank flanks that only appears once in a "blue-moon". This story has much the same vibe as Brigadoon, but in reverse to the idyllic Scottish tale.
I was thinking more about that story from the Nightmare Street book series, about a camp-site that was cursed by the spirits of the land, only letting it return once a year and only as long as the trapped campers and staff pretend everything is normal... with none of them aware of how many years have passed since they were cursed
Also, it has some G1 MLP Return to Tambelon vibes as well. Except there's no Grogar or subplot about kidnapped unicorns. But it does involve a cursed village with decrepit denizens!
The poor villagers. They probably were a town that had a Cutie Pox outbreak a while back and gained a fear of cutie marks in the process, hence the term "curse marks". They think Applebloom was " Uninfected" like them.
I have tried directing a couple of multi-cast audio dubs myself, but both of them are sadly not likely to see completion due to procrastination on my part and the difficulty of keeping track of many people's schedules. The second and most recent one did make more headway than the first, so maybe it's about time I try a third time which according to contemporary wisdom is the charm. Ghosts on tha otha hoof, apparitions of those returned from death, is goofy superstitious nonsense dat violates tha metaphysical premises of their magical universe. Tha main point, i think, as in tha case of many such works of fiction in which tha supernatural is commonplace, is dat not even normal magic can revive tha dead

This is such a beautiful reading of this fic! It feels so immersive. I knew of the game first. The game is awesome, but it isn't able to do the fanfic justice, just intrinsically.

This really reminds me a lot of myth stuff in my country. My parents or basically adults always warned me or each of my family (and especially kids) who're still playing outside to not going anywhere when at dawn, and if you're not in your home try to find a shelter at a mosque or shops. Non logical things could happen such as your path to way home became a labirinth or unexpected fatal accidents or meeting a ghost lol. Dawn is just sacred. I'm interested in this one :D

Is this what starlight glimmers town of equality was originally based on? It just gives me that vibe kinda with them not having cutie marks and all seemingly being gray and darker colors and the councilor smiling the entire time and the burned cutie marks just like they all did in the episode (Typing this as I'm watching as to not forget so that's what my edits are)
