I looked it up, Somno Captis apparently is a Latin thing that translates to 'Sleep Capture', and that's what this creature, this amalgamation does to others, it captures them in their sleep, and never lets go

One of my biggest fears ever: melted screaming faces and bodies clumped together into a liquid blob. And when the bells and the “planet / wall screaming’’ started, it sent stunning chills down my spine. It’s been such a long while since I’ve listened to a grim dark reading by you scribblerproductions. This is very well read by you and very well written. Fantastic work and effort by all. Now I must try not to have a nightmare of this when I sleep tonight.
Taking this story literally and at face value, this is a story about an unknowable and alien...entity I guess and Twilight trying in vain to both understand it and then destroy it. Failing that, she just wants to be free of it. But looking deeper, I see two main themes at play here. On one hand, this is a cautionary tale that teaches you to not reach too far beyond your understanding, lest you regret what you find. And sometimes, doors you open can never be closed and you just have to live with the consequences. Twilight tries desperately to stop it, but cannot because she's already opened that door and can no longer close it, driving herself more and more insane as it goes. She played with fire and got burned. She got to close to the sun and fell. The mirror is also a good allegory for this, as no matter how hard she tries to destroy it, she cannot undo what has already been done. But I also see something else...a theme of failure. Twilight's mood and tone here is one of desperation and despair. She is trying so hard to stay awake and find an answer to this problem, but fails. She tries destroying the mirror, but fails. She tries to get away from this thing that she seems to have possibly unleashed, but fails. She tries to escape it in her dream, but she fails. But the ending to this story beautifully and tragically tells a story of yet another Twilight Sparkle who will not give up, no matter what...and in the end...it will destroy her, and she will end up in the wall along with her "sisters" Just another failure in a long string of failures...and the cycle will just continue.
That makes sense she born with failure not matter how much you try failure is your birthmark in your life not matter how much you try changing your fate to be success it not gonna make you win but fall into pit of suffering loneliness and endless failure

The fusion of all the twilight gives me the same vibe as forced fusion. The way all the screams are fused together and their bodies are horribly fused together to form a horrifying monster. Very nice fic.
This thing is like a multidimensional predator that acquired the specific niche diet of Twilight Sparkles like a Whale shark that evolved it's diet to eat Krill and Plankton, probably because her counterparts discover the multiverse enough to be an abundant food source

The best horror arises from the exploration of mysterious, incomprehensible terrors that play outside the limits of knowledge and control. I have two of your other readings saved that captured the same dread: "Nigeb" and "Into The Other".
The idea that this can steal one away from their reality brings up more possibilities. What could happen if she becomes absorbed in her dreams. Would she dissappear from her world entirely or would she become a possible portal for her "Thing"? Her physical body becoming a faucet for this evil bile to spread and do whatever it did to Twilight?
Maybe her body becomes a blob like substance and absorb every creature like in the story it has different versions of her and her friends and familys and maybe some of her children or her next generation.
I've probably listened to this about 50 times. I've suffered with walking depression and insomnia for a long time... I would just like to give Twilight a hug... I would have to say I love this weird monster, and that creepy ass sound that kinda sounds like momma is chilling to me.
I have had this in my "Watch later playlist for years now, and I do not regret finally watching it. THIS was extremely well written. It was horrifying, tense, disgusting... and enjoyable.

I've listened to and read many pony grimdark fanfics but this. *This* is the only one that has made me feel a very real and a very primal fear of the unknown. I love it. Instantly a favorite.
As a personal fan of body horror and cosmic horror, this puts a smile on my face, while also leaving a very good lesson on leaving somethings unknown, least be cursed with knowing. But also a reminder that we have to accept defeat and failure, because if we don't, we too will end up like this Twilight, and all the other Twilights too... Spooky otherworldly cosmic horror stuff right here for sure!
Man am I glad I checked this one out again. It is still phenomenal, from the gorgeous writing, to your fantastic voice work, to the genuinely horrifying *sound design.* Such an amazing work of horror.
Could you imagine being in this situation? Having to stay up knowing that if you fall asleep it will catch you? Knowing it is there even if you can't see nor hear it. I find this type of stuff interesting. Scary stories, grim myths and legends, horrifying tales of creatures or the paranormal. I'm interested in that, even if I know some of them aren't real
A mirror that links to other realms that reforms itself when it is not in eye contact? How about splitting it in many parts, putting them in many boxes, with the biggest shard in the lab, and while other personel watch, put the shards in desolate areas of Equestria, as far away from each other as possible and see if it comes together. Remember to make the boxes far smaller than the mirror. Last, put armed Unicorn personel at each site. If it does, treat it like the cleaning methods of SCP-173 but infinite and in shifts. 5 personel (Pegasi on watch only) watch it and tell each other when they blink. Repeat until the end of time or a termination method is proposed. After an hour, a cycle of personel occurs without looking away. Keep it shattered at all times. Keep the lab in lockdown and put the mirror underground in the most barren wasteland possible and build a community of no less than 150 personel as a backup in case of illness. Put it 2 miles down and have a very advanced cooling system and make it self-sustaining. If you get caught in the void, break off a sample as the wall seems very slow and then make a line with the holy water. If you are in the void, you were a Pegasi so fly without touching the obsidian or you disobeyed orders and deserve to be caught. Any personel who survive will be evaluated and depending on if you are a Pegasi or not, will go through mental evaluation or will be terminated without compensation for the family. Personel equipment- Fire resistant suit, biohazard suit, military grade suit for knife protection, 1 bottle of prescription grade pain killers, 10L of holy water, and a welding mask w/ ventilator. Pegasi must have strong will, holy mindset, unable to feel sorrow for others, and must be physically fit. I am WAY too good with space-time/dimensional threats.
And in case keep various objects ( amulets, book's etc) or an ally being of dimensional/space-time/reality-warping powers to have some back up in extreme case such as; complete breach or collapse of the various sistems in the base.

I think I can relate with twilights sleepy ness, being so tired that for whatever reason you go cross eyed as she states that the words in the book turn to gibberish as it can be hard to read when you have to keep your eyes from going cross eyed

From what I surmise, something about the Creature 'Calls' to its counterparts across the Multiverse, once the Mirror has been constructed. And those 'Calls' become strongest when they are asleep. At that point, the Twilights will be gravitate towards the Mirror in sleepwalk, only awakening once they cross the threshold. And by that time, the cost of getting back may be more than giving in to the Creature. And the Mirror is tethered to the Creature's magic, so it cannot be destroyed through normal means.
I think the wall of Twilights is actually other twilights from alternate universes and timelines all fused together into this thing because they were all captured the same way by "something or someone" and the Twilight that we see here must be just another out of a billion Alternates that the "thing" was going to add to it's collection but failed cus Twilight escape. (This was just a theory I thought of just nothing special about my comment)

Ok my mind is unraveling trying to stay awake, so just going to type this up before letting the chips fall where they may. The somno captis, the more I think about it it stirs the idea of not so much a "monster", but a theoretical force. An equal yet opposite force to parallel/multiverse theory: Somno Captis, is a singularity. All paths, all illusions of choice and free will lead to it, and "it" is compelled to find the infinite versions of itself, desiring to be complete as all paths lead to and end with it. It is heaven, it is hell, but most of all it is purgatory. Any by that logic, everyone has a Somno Captis, even *"YOU" who is reading this comment.*
Wow! This is a year old but it’s my first time watching and it is amazing. It’s not just the best creepy pasta I’ve heard.. it’s the best story I’ve ever heard in my life!! Mlp or not it is by far the best. And your voice and the sound effects match perfectly and blend so nicely with the music! I love this so much and I just feel like crying because I truly missed the mlp fandom and the way it’s stories made me feel! Thank you!! I must go back to the mlp fandom and I will!! I actually remember watching this back during...the pandemic? God, that was so long ago...I never listened to this with sound (my phone used to do an auto-play thing on RUclips where it would automatically play a video I hovered over, just with closed captions and without sounds,) so I finally gave this a listen. I always liked this video, hearing it with sound gives quite an experience. I was never really bothered by MLP horror content, this is probably one of my favorite videos besides the Rocket to Insanity series. Something about an amalgamation of Twilights gives me some sense of...curiosity? I dunno. Most people that saw this are horrified, but a Twilight amalgamation always made me think of Undertale lol.
I think the thing that makes the situation so much worse isn’t the fact that it has happened an uncountable amount of times, but the fact that it is inevitable. It is something, that nothing can stop… and it is your own fault for it. You opened the portal, letting it in. Now, you’re stuck with something infinitely more powerful than magic itself, something relentless, something… that you created, and it wants you. No, it doesn’t want you, it WANTS you. It believes you are a part of it, and it NEEDS you. Any living thing it sees, it believes is part of itself. Desperate to be whole, desperate to stop the pain it is in, it wants you. The mirror portal to the multiverse is how it sees you. You wanted to see the multiverse… well, you got what you wanted. This thing… it is the multiverse. Since it was a mirror, I bet if AJ looked, they would find a duplicate of The Wall with the same conditions. However, it would be made up of only Applejacks instead. You are a part of its collection, and it has all of the time it may ever want to wait for you. When you fall asleep, that is how it drags you into its clutches. It is your personally grim reaper, and it will always find you. Twilight, just got an early glimpse at it, and it caught her peeking.

I don't know why but I always thought this story was a sequel or spiritual successor to Rapid Blink. Turns out their not related in any way. Maybe its the amalgamation of all the Twilights in this story and the mountain of Twilight dilations(IDK what else to call them) in Rapid Blink that made me connect them together.

Spooky otherworldly cosmic horror stuff right here for sure!
Man am I glad I checked this one out again. It is still phenomenal, from the gorgeous writing, to your fantastic voice work, to the genuinely horrifying *sound design.* Such an amazing work of horror.
Could you imagine being in this situation? Having to stay up knowing that if you fall asleep it will catch you? Knowing it is there even if you can't see nor hear it. I find this type of stuff interesting. Scary stories, grim myths and legends, horrifying tales of creatures or the paranormal. I'm interested in that, even if I know some of them aren't real
Terraria had it right when it said, "Wall of Flesh".

The terrifying aspect here is just the sheer vastness of the Multiverse.
I think this fear - the fear of the inevitable - is probably the most terrifying kind.
A mirror that links to other realms that reforms itself when it is not in eye contact? How about splitting it in many parts, putting them in many boxes, with the biggest shard in the lab, and while other personel watch, put the shards in desolate areas of Equestria, as far away from each other as possible and see if it comes together. Remember to make the boxes far smaller than the mirror. Last, put armed Unicorn personel at each site.
If it does, treat it like the cleaning methods of SCP-173 but infinite and in shifts. 5 personel (Pegasi on watch only) watch it and tell each other when they blink. Repeat until the end of time or a termination method is proposed. After an hour, a cycle of personel occurs without looking away. Keep it shattered at all times.
Keep the lab in lockdown and put the mirror underground in the most barren wasteland possible and build a community of no less than 150 personel as a backup in case of illness. Put it 2 miles down and have a very advanced cooling system and make it self-sustaining.
If you get caught in the void, break off a sample as the wall seems very slow and then make a line with the holy water. If you are in the void, you were a Pegasi so fly without touching the obsidian or you disobeyed orders and deserve to be caught. Any personel who survive will be evaluated and depending on if you are a Pegasi or not, will go through mental evaluation or will be terminated without compensation for the family.
Personel equipment- Fire resistant suit, biohazard suit, military grade suit for knife protection, 1 bottle of prescription grade pain killers, 10L of holy water, and a welding mask w/ ventilator. Pegasi must have strong will, holy mindset, unable to feel sorrow for others, and must be physically fit.
I am WAY too good with space-time/dimensional threats.
Brilliant.
And in case keep various objects ( amulets, book's etc) or an ally being of dimensional/space-time/reality-warping powers to have some back up in extreme case such as; complete breach or collapse of the various sistems in the base.

I think I can relate with twilights sleepy ness, being so tired that for whatever reason you go cross eyed as she states that the words in the book turn to gibberish as it can be hard to read when you have to keep your eyes from going cross eyed
Kinda sad that this was a fic other pony ocs have covered and were good in their own right, still hoping for something new but DAMN was it still eerie how close it sounded like twilight and i just have to relisten to this x3333

From what I surmise, something about the Creature 'Calls' to its counterparts across the Multiverse, once the Mirror has been constructed. And those 'Calls' become strongest when they are asleep. At that point, the Twilights will be gravitate towards the Mirror in sleepwalk, only awakening once they cross the threshold. And by that time, the cost of getting back may be more than giving in to the Creature. And the Mirror is tethered to the Creature's magic, so it cannot be destroyed through normal means.
I think the wall of Twilights is actually other twilights from alternate universes and timelines all fused together into this thing because they were all captured the same way by "something or someone" and the Twilight that we see here must be just another out of a billion Alternates that the "thing" was going to add to it's collection but failed cus Twilight escape. (This was just a theory I thought of just nothing special about my comment)
After watching this, I decided to try find what the title could mean and here is my result:

Ok my mind is unraveling trying to stay awake, so just going to type this up before letting the chips fall where they may.
The somno captis, the more I think about it it stirs the idea of not so much a "monster", but a theoretical force.
An equal yet opposite force to parallel/multiverse theory: Somno Captis, is a singularity.
All paths, all illusions of choice and free will lead to it, and "it" is compelled to find the infinite versions of itself, desiring to be complete as all paths lead to and end with it. It is heaven, it is hell, but most of all it is purgatory.
Any by that logic, everyone has a Somno Captis, even *"YOU" who is reading this comment.*

Wow! This is a year old but it’s my first time watching and it is amazing. It’s not just the best creepy pasta I’ve heard.. it’s the best story I’ve ever heard in my life!! Mlp or not it is by far the best. And your voice and the sound effects match perfectly and blend so nicely with the music! I love this so much and I just feel like crying because I truly missed the mlp fandom and the way it’s stories made me feel! Thank you!! I must go back to the mlp fandom and I will!! This surpassed being a great mlp story. It is simply an amazing story all together! I have and always will be a huge fan of yours for this and your other videos!
I actually remember watching this back during...the pandemic? God, that was so long ago...I never listened to this with sound (my phone used to do an auto-play thing on RUclips where it would automatically play a video I hovered over, just with closed captions and without sounds,) so I finally gave this a listen.
I always liked this video, hearing it with sound gives quite an experience.
I was never really bothered by MLP horror content, this is probably one of my favorite videos besides the Rocket to Insanity series. Something about an amalgamation of Twilights gives me some sense of...curiosity? I dunno. Most people that saw this are horrified, but a Twilight amalgamation always made me think of Undertale lol.
I think the thing that makes the situation so much worse isn’t the fact that it has happened an uncountable amount of times, but the fact that it is inevitable. It is something, that nothing can stop… and it is your own fault for it. You opened the portal, letting it in. Now, you’re stuck with something infinitely more powerful than magic itself, something relentless, something… that you created, and it wants you.
No, it doesn’t want you, it WANTS you. It believes you are a part of it, and it NEEDS you. Any living thing it sees, it believes is part of itself. Desperate to be whole, desperate to stop the pain it is in, it wants you. The mirror portal to the multiverse is how it sees you.
You wanted to see the multiverse… well, you got what you wanted. This thing… it is the multiverse. Since it was a mirror, I bet if AJ looked, they would find a duplicate of The Wall with the same conditions. However, it would be made up of only Applejacks instead.
You are a part of its collection, and it has all of the time it may ever want to wait for you. When you fall asleep, that is how it drags you into its clutches. It is your personally grim reaper, and it will always find you. Twilight, just got an early glimpse at it, and it caught her peeking.

I don't know why but I always thought this story was a sequel or spiritual successor to Rapid Blink. Turns out their not related in any way. Maybe its the amalgamation of all the Twilights in this story and the mountain of Twilight dilations(IDK what else to call them) in Rapid Blink that made me connect them together.
