Oh Glenn...I need to keep coming back to your channel more often. I'm a bit behind, but I just discovered your fantastic covers of "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" and now...just found your magical version of "Carefree Highway." Capo 2 just like Gordon and wow...no question he would be honored and proud. Can't wait to hear what you post next. You continue to be my RUclips inspiration!!
Thank you Dave! Yes, having a good 6-string and a good 12-string is very nice; I know I am lucky! Thanks for your comments and for watching! Be well! - Glenn
Hi Marty! How terrific to hear from you! I am doing okay! I hope you and your lovely wife are well. And I'm glad you appreciate this old classic Lightfoot song. Thanks so much for taking time, Marty! - Glenn
Thank you SoFar! I'm glad you thought I did okay with this cover! Thanks for watching and for your kind words. I saw Gordon Lightfoot back in 1978 or maybe it was 1979 in Seattle. He sure made his mark on the world. Be well out there! - Glenn
Nice treatment. Crisp, clean guitar. I'm certain that Mr. Lightfoot would be pleased with how you handle his work. BTW i have an out of print short biograpghy of Lightfoot published in 1977. In it he states that he never really liked this song. Later in his life he changed his mind and agreed that maybe the fans were right about this one after all! Thanks, Moosehead!
Thank you Moosehead! I'm so glad you are still listening! I hope you are doing well and I'm very pleased that you thought I did okay with this cover. Be well out there! - Glenn
Hi Glenn. Flute player 86 here. Keep up the good work. I myself, Emma musician, and to master a piece takes a long time. I have a friend who is a violinist and a pianist as well as a singer. She is also Canadian, and she has two books full of Gordon Lightfoot music. This is an excellent tribute to Mr. Lightfoot. I'm sure he is watching over your shoulder at this present moment as you are making this video. For some reason, though, and I can't figure out why, but spiritually, Gordon Lightfoot has been always watching over my shoulder. I think he might be my guardian angel of some sort. Don't know. What are your thoughts? I think he definitely might be. Anyhow, just wanted to comment here and say good job. I liked it when you did walls by Gordon Lightfoot along with a tutorial. I cannot believe it's going to be a year since his death on May 1. You can bet I'll be playing his music all day long on May 1.
Hi Amanda! I'm glad you thought this came out okay. And you never know, Gordon Lightfoot just might be a guardian angel looking over your shoulder. Wouldn't that be nice?! You take care and be well, Amanda! - Glenn
