Thank you Rick! Nice of you to take time to offer encouragement! I'm pleased that you thought this came out well! I hope you are well, too! Take care -- Glenn
Well done as always, Glenn!! I agree with you that D-standard is a great tuning for the guitar. It is all I ever use these days - I like the deeper bassier tone. What guitar is this?
Thank you Scott! Yes, the key of D is great for the guitar. Seems that's where Gordon Lightfoot wrote about 75% of his songs; James Taylor, too. The guitar is a handmade guitar I bought used from a friend. The guitar was made over in Tennessee by Gerald Sheppard. It's a super nice guitar. I hope all is well for you, Scott. - Glenn
hi Glenn. Flute player 86 here. I wanted to apologize for asking to keep in touch with you via email. I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable. Anyway, beautifully done. I do have a question. Did you used to sing in choir when you were in school? because you have a beautiful singing voice. Your guitar skills are impressive. I happen to be a musician myself, and your music skills are impressive. Did you get it from anyone in your family? I am related to country singer Chad Brock if you know who he is.
Hi Amanda. No problem about the email. Still, I have the privilege of hearing from you here on RUclips, which is wonderful. I sang in a choir for a little while when I was in high school and junior high, but I was also a competitive swimmer, and the two conflicted in school and I had to choose, so I chose swimming. I did okay in competitive swimming but I never made it to the Olympics. I'm glad you enjoyed this song and that you feel I did okay with the singing and playing. Billy Joel has a terrific voice, so it's not always easy to sing his stuff. I had to practice quite a bit. I hope you are well, Amanda! Take care, Glenn
Beautiful !!!
Thank you Martha! I'm so pleased you like this! Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. I hope all is well for you! - Glenn
Tears in my eyes. What a touching version Glenn. You got it my friend. Hugs, Jimmy
Thank you Jimmy. I'm so glad you like this. Billy Joel wrote some great songs. Be well out there. - Glenn
Very well played and great singing my friend! Keep it up!! 🎸
