One thing that's important to add here is that you should never ever tell anyone else that you constantly keep a month's worth of food supplies stocked up. If and when a disaster strikes you can be sure that anyone known to be well prepped will become a target for hoodlums. I'd go as far as to say you should keep the existence of that stash hidden from family members as well, since they might accidentally share it's existence to the wrong person outside of your household.

Thank you for bringing up this subject! I was wondering whether or not to mention it in the video and eventually decided to leave it out, as it relates to a broader topic about the family and the community. It is almost impossible to hide such a stash from the people you are living with, especially if you are regularly eating from it, so some discretion on their end is necessary. As for the community, the situation can vary greatly. Where I live, neighborly help and neighborhood apps are something normal and they do contribute to a better and safer society because we regularly share information among each other about events, subsidies, scams, burglaries, etc. This does not mean that I share the full extent of my operations with my neighbors but they do know that they can rely on me if they need help with some tools, repairs or something else and in return I can rely on them if something unexpected happens. Unfortunately this is not applicable everywhere in the world, so your consideration is a valid one. Being able to asses what should and should not be shared with your family and community is a vital skill.
