Barn doors leak on my rig, but that is due to missing gasket at the cargo bay. I have a salvaged one to install after I clean the part. From your video, I know how to leak test it and (if needed) fix it with that great 3M stuff.
Did not know that! The car sits in a garage most the time and I’ll be removing them and installing a roof rack at some point in the near ish future. Thanks for letting me know!
This is what I needed to see, I have some leaks on my rack too... Now I know how it comes apart, thanks. I also have a windshield leak and a small drip or two at the rear door seal. Mine has the dutch doors.
The Dutch door seems to be much more difficult to remedy the leaking issue, but hopefully this video would help. I find that water likes to pile up on the door water gutter up top and pool over the ledge, which leaks into the van.
My Goodness!! Have a 2005 astro van And that's it is exactly my paper write now and spring training en de back of my van it's wet al OVER! 😮 And I can hear water trap somewhere but don't know where? 🥺
Oh and I also have a good idea for you on how to flatten those roof rack holes out... Just use a bolt and nut and a few washers... just tighten em... and Tada! Flat again.
I followed your advice about one of the products you used. And it worked for me too. Now I'm looking for specific advice about the weather stripping but the one that seals the sliding door. So far I know it's impossible to find exactly the same as the original one, but is there any chance you changed yours too? If so, do you have any picture of it you can share??? I ordered same weatherstripping from Amazon. Dont recommend, poor quality. I bought from Steel Rubber Products. They sent me a universal sample kit for free with 12 different pieces. Relpaced side pop out window. Paid $120 for 11 feet with Locktite 495. They also have specific fits for Safari / Astro. The tech dept was helpful in my decision and actually called me back to let me.

Strange, I have never experienced leaks on my 05 Astro, My Dad who has owned 7 Astros (mad lad) also said that he never had leaks too.

Heck yeah, hopefully you’ll get the barn door leak resolved! Sounds like they are non stop issues with them.

for the roof rack, couldn't you just use some sealant around the edges and into the bolt area? I had the rear brake light leak, and that fixed it.
