For blemish prone skin, I like to use high linoleic acid oils like Safflower, Pomegrante or Hibiscus. I also like making an infusion. And I love Camellia Seed (we call it Tea Seed oil since we choose the food grade version that is even more potent). It's in our Plum Elixir and our Tea Seed Elixir.

    I never really used skincare products in the past, but I've started using pure aloe vera on my face as a moisturizing cleanser at night and it's been a game changer for me. My face has never looked better. And the best part is, aloe vera grows really well where I live, so I just have a few in my garden that I harvest the leaves from when to.

    Hi there!
    COULD YOU PLEASE CLARIFY THE ESSENTIAL OIL PART?
    Most essential oils are TOXIC when introduced into the body (skin absorbtion included).
    But it sounded like you put essential oils in your serum. I possibly didn't get that right but could you please clarify this part a bit more?
    It seems like there are potentially really dangerous mistakes waiting too happen.
    I am sorry if i just misunderstood, but if I did some one else might too and I'm worried someone might hurt themself.
    Thank you for reading this and have a great day!

    • @jmhh3264
      @jmhh3264 4 года назад

      No you're right. Essential oil is bad for most people skin. Even if you have no visible problems it can break down cells and also increases UVA sensitivity and damage. Just avoid them. And what she said about oils is a half truth, certain oils can be wonderful for skin for some and terrible for others. Skin care is about finding what works for you through experience and experimentation. Just dont use gritty scrubs, lemon juice, and essential oils. Oh and never use olive oil, it breaks down cells and is carcinogenic, even though many people feel like they get positive results with it. My skin personally hates some of the oils in this video, broke me out so bad but they work for others, while my skin loves other oils. And it depends on how you use them, and what order. Every one of these ladylike heath type of videos spread bad ideas and misinformation so do your research. Honestly the best thing for your skin is 50++++ sunscreen, that's all you really need. Good luck finding what works for you!

      There are ones that are safe, but they have to be food grade and can be very expensive.
      My SO can't take conventional medications for pain so sometimes he will use essential oils to help. Food grade frankincense is like 100 dollars a bottle.

    • @MsLarrythegreat
      @MsLarrythegreat 4 года назад +2

      @@lofilorelai3580 yes, you are right there are foodgrade essential oils most commonly used in cooking like lemon or cinnamon for example.
      Though anything can be a poison when the dose is high enough.
      My problem here is that essential oils are highly, highly concentrated and therefore things can go wrong faster than one would think. Natural doesn't equate safe and I just wish they would caution and mention being safe, you know?
      Edit: I guess, I just see myself being that person really into trying diy, who didn't know. And I'm glad somebody told me to be careful so I could be...

    Love, love, love the concept of this video! If we are being careful about what we put in our bodies, we also should take care of which chemicals we are putting on our skin, and then absorbed into our system. I’m clueless about making my own natural products so this video was super helpful. Thank you!
