Some oily skin people don’t moisturize properly so they might think that they have combination skin, but in reality you just need to moisturize. Since my skin is also oily, drying my skin will make me break out. This is because our skin automatically thinks when the skin is dry to oil it up causing breakouts. So moisturizing skin is great for acne prone skin and try to gel moisturizer since they are less heavy\oily.

Poor Chantel, she's probably allergic to an ingredient in the face wash. My skin breaks out like that whenever I use lavender or anything not formulated for sensitive skin
Or those products are just too oily for acne prone skin or her skin in particular, spots covering large portions of her face is a tell tale sign of that. The natural ingredients route that Lush has gone down means that there are lots of oils and extracts in their products. It works really well for moisturising, but not so well of you're trying to keep bacteria and oils at bay, especially in a hot climate. For acne, the less natural route often works better, salicylic acid and synthetic chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide are good at fighting it, and if products are making things worse, just washing with water and then applying a light moisturiser is another option
The Indigo Papillon well shit. maybe I've been using shit I shouldn't then. because I notice 'pimples' a day after I use my scrub and they are itchy AF but the weird thing is, they never grow a head. It's like they pop up and are itchy and then like 2 days later they disappear...
The Indigo Papillon that can't be right because I hardly ever wear makeup and those small water pimples were all over my forehead and I started exfoliating and taking better care of my skin and they went away
+puka pechew there less likely to occur the healthier and moisturized your skin is. It doesn't mean irritation didn't occur. I had allergic reaction recently I had put on coconut oil after I shower before my skin really reacted so it helped soothing it. Though I don't put coconut oil on my face so it broke out the worst and my face is irritated now. meanwhile the rest of my body is rather clear. I didn't even break out hardly otherwise.
I LOVE the magnaminty mask/scrub. I get breakouts on my chin and jawline a lot and it helps calm down the acne whilst drying the spots out. My skin never feels dry after either.
chantel, your face was breaking out because since you used the same skin routine for a long time, every day, you started breaking out because you started a new skin routine. It happens with foundations and primers and any everyday routine in your face.
Absolutely! You could also have had a reaction to something in the product. I know for myself, Lush usually works great but certain ingredients (specifically ones that add scent) cause me to break out similarly to the way yours did.
It is true that skin needs time to adjust, but it's also true that some natural ingredients can be quite irritating the way synthetic ones are (and lush does have synthetic too). Chantel's products had lavender, lemon juice, patcholi oil and fragrance in them - all of which can be fine but also can be very irritating to some people. It could have been that
I used the angels on bare skin cleanser upon recommendation and I found that it broke me out too. I have now found a routine which is mostly natural and A LOT less fragrant than lush. I honestly think lush skincare is overrated and that there are other products out there that do a way better job.

I think Chantel broke out so much because her face wasn't used to the Lush products. She said herself that she had been using the same face routine forever. When I change products my face breaks out sometimes, so I think that's what happened to her.
kaylee xo A lot of mainstream brands use stuff in their products that mean that as soon as you stop using that product or that ingredient your skin problems come back. I don't think the problem was on lush.
At Lush we always say to give your products and your skin like two weeks to get used to each other. When your face is so used to something, like in Chantal's case, then it's definitely doing like a cleanse with the skin. I kinda wished they'd made it like a month with the products instead of a week..
Cali Cuauhtli thats what I was thinking! Lavender can be an irritant to some people's skin. I know mine freaks the F out if I come into contact with it.
I think it's not an allergic reaction as then it would have more rash and redness and irritation in it. It could be, I'm not specialist. But what my skincare and my friend's adult acne taught me that some products clean up your skin deeply and the first month can be a pimple hell as all the stuff comes off from your face. When it is used to the product and your skin has got rid of all the extra stuff in it, then it'll be like you would be suddenly 5-10 years younger. But only person oneself can know her own skin and really is there something going wrong and one should trust her intuition.
If you drastically switch your entire routine, especially with sensitive skin, your skin freaks out! I have incredibly sensitive skin and the first few times I use a new face wash or other product my face starts to hate me for a few days before it gets better. That could be what happened to Chantel
Lavender, according to dermatologists, is highly irritant! Lush products are amazing, but the ones with lavender (Angels On Bare Skin) will give you breakouts or a rash if you have the least bit sensitive skin. Just an FYI guys
Avery Everett thank you Kaitlynn! I was shouting at my screen, I agree with her, Buffy is fucking magic but it's not soap. Also Scrubbee I bought 5 of those lol!
I went to lush for hair things and they just gave me a bunch of big free samples that lasted me a week...I followed them on Instagram and my mum rang them to say thank you..they were all so nice and I just LOVE it there x
I wish they'd list all the items each got. If Kristen has to use that much concealer, I think she needs to try other foundations. Yikes but I didn't realize how much Kristen and Chantel break out. With makeup they look so flawless.
I think it was branded and they didn't really like the products so to say lady approved would be a lie, and lady don't buy again wouldn't be in terms of the endorsement.
Thank you Ladylike for doing this video and being honest about the effects. It was really satisfying to watch and hear you guys tell us what worked for you and what didn't (and not just say "oh wow everything is great!"). I don't have the money to go get the stuff right this second but I definitely added a couple things to my list!
Sarah E As an ophthalmic tech, this bothered me so much! lol. I think the product was not good for her skin and the fact she kept rubbing her eyes didn't help. I hope she saw an ophthalmologist or dermatologist!
Hannah Stanford You're right in that it doesn't cause things like styes but it's not a good thing to do in general. Your hands can transmit germs and dirt and stuff to your eyes if you're constantly rubbing them. It also means that you may have vision issues if you do it all the time.
For break outs i love grease lightning. Conditioner bars don't lather because conditioner normally doesn't lather. just meant to add hydration to dry hair. lather would dry out hair. cool that you guys got to try stuff out tho love you girls.
Think cause as someone who has both a Lush liquid conditioner and solid bar, there is a difference in texture. The solid one doesn't feel like that creamy liquid one it's very light and minimal. Devon is probably use to/prefers that creamy feeling since it feels like it does more (when it might not, but for me they are the same...)
Miss Alyssa definitely, seems like the associate forgot to tell them that there's no silicone in the conditioner so it's not slippery like store-bought ones. You kind of just have to trust that it's working and not overdo it, it always feels nice after the shower but it's not slippery like the other stuff that you buy traditionally
Plus you could get a lot of free samples, literally they basically push you to get free samples when you're in there!!! Just don't go in and ask for freebies of everything, because that's rude. But really their stuff is not that expensive, really the only things that are is that one around $80 moisturizer (that totally smells like corn tortillas) and the bath bombs. Everything else is definitely worth their price.
I've been using Lush products for 15 years now. Just like with many brands some products are the absolute best, some are the absolute worst and some are just ok. The soap Freddie mentions is actually a body scrub called Buffy and it's indeed amazing. It leaves a layer on your skin which means after showering you no longer need to moisturize. The face masks have never worked for me and I wouldn't recommend any of them. I personally feel that they tend to dry out your skin and leave it prone to irritation. Angels on Bare skin is one of those you love it or you hate it products. For my face I don't love it but I do love it for my armpits and bikini area because it's a mild enough scrub and also moisturizes. The Daddy-O conditioner that Devin used is one of the best deep conditioners I've ever used. Yes, it's not the easiest to use but in my opinion worth it. I've never used their makeup so I have no idea but I do think based on the other products that I think Kristin's experience is probably the most common one. Although I really like Lush and appreciate their efforts against animal testing and being environmentally conscious they're not fully natural and they do still use SLS/SLES while not necessary and they also can't guarantee that the origins of the palm oil that it comes from is really 100% environmental friendly.
i use ocean salt to exfoliate, herbalism to cleanse, and skin drink to moisterize and i have absolutely flawless skin. i've been using this routine since april and in the past month i've had no blemishes 😍
I have oily skin with acne too and I'm using the Tea Tree water for about 1-2 weeks now, and it hasn't made my acne worse, I actually have a feeling that it's clearing up
Merel Van Poucke It's because tea tree oil is a natural stripper! When it's in a toner water it helps to strip excess oils left over in the skin after cleansing, which helps to keep breakouts at bay. I've been using the Tea Tree Water myself since about Christmas time, and I used to get bad stress breakouts with my previous skin routine, using a gentle toner, and since using the Tea Tree Water I haven't had them anywhere near as bad!
My sisters with acne prone skin use natural oils all the time... Don't think it's bad for your skin at all. But I definitely agree it looks like a allergic reaction not a break out. Was probably allergic to something in the products. People can be allergic to some weird things.
at 5:12, devin tells us how she hates cap things. she turns the camera and she peels it. she turns it the other way and tries to take it off when she already has a pulltab she has already peeled lol
I actually experienced the EXACT same breakout on my forehead with the LUSH facial routine, (small baby pimples), and I do not have acne prone skin! I've learned that a variety of different brands does help, because as nice as it would be to use all natural products, certain skins need something more intense to keep up with our lives. I'm now using a benzoyl peroxide wash and then following with lush toner and moisturizer.

But only person oneself can know her own skin and really is there something going wrong and one should trust her intuition.
i had an allergic reaction to one of their face masks but it didn't look like that, it was really puffy and bright red
If you drastically switch your entire routine, especially with sensitive skin, your skin freaks out! I have incredibly sensitive skin and the first few times I use a new face wash or other product my face starts to hate me for a few days before it gets better. That could be what happened to Chantel
Oh my god. That Lush girl was so sweet. I loved her.
Lavender, according to dermatologists, is highly irritant! Lush products are amazing, but the ones with lavender (Angels On Bare Skin) will give you breakouts or a rash if you have the least bit sensitive skin. Just an FYI guys
littlesunshineDV i have very sensitive skin and it worked great for me!
yeah depends on the person! there are benefits to it if you dont get irritated. it is very brightening for the skin :)
i have sensitive skin and it didnt work for me :( I have very sensitive skin but also get spots.
littlesunshineDV Angels on Bare Skin made my acne-prone, super-sensitive combo skin SO MAD AT ME lo
I have such sensitive skin!! Sukin and the Body Shop both irritate my skin but Angels on Bare Skin is the only cleanser I can use!!!!
I feel like shay really loves working at lush. She’s so happy 😁😁😁
Can we just take a second and appreciate Shay. She is the NICEST 😍
6:42 Devin's hair literally looks exactly like those silky threads in a peeled corn stalk thingy
"this bar of soap is like Jesus in a canister" dying Freddie dying 😂😂
Kaitlynn Grace dying inside bc Buffy isn't a soap pls don't try and clean yourself with it 😭 it's just for exfoliating and hydrating.
Avery Everett thank you Kaitlynn! I was shouting at my screen, I agree with her, Buffy is fucking magic but it's not soap. Also Scrubbee I bought 5 of those lol!
I feel so damn buttery
I used oh my god it was so great to the point that i didn't need to lotion after i come out the bathroom
Blossom h
I think Chantal might be allergic to something in that face wash.
Angela Hooper no, just the dramatic change her skin wasn't used to.
Angela Hooper read her comment
It’s because there’s lavender in her face wash
Her skin was likely just purging. If not I assume it was only the mask.
It's because it was a new routine. It did start to clear up. It's like changing your diet. Your body has to settle into that change of food
Did anyone else realise that Freddie was on the toilet when vlogging at 5:30 !?😂
Summer James omg yh
Summer James I did
Summer James I love her more
Summer James she was
Summer James lol
I love Freddie’s clothes and her personality she’s definitely my favorite

Freddie is defo my fave lady @ buzzfeed
Fredy looks so stunning with her red lipstick and spacebuns!!! im so in love wow
I went to lush for hair things and they just gave me a bunch of big free samples that lasted me a week...I followed them on Instagram and my mum rang them to say thank you..they were all so nice and I just LOVE it there x
I.HAVE.HAIR ISSUES 😂😂 same girl same
Every day of my life girl. Same.
I wish they'd list all the items each got. If Kristen has to use that much concealer, I think she needs to try other foundations. Yikes but I didn't realize how much Kristen and Chantel break out. With makeup they look so flawless.
lovethosebudgies Chantel only broke out because she uses the same products day after day after day and her skin needed to adjust
lovethosebudgies They only broke out because they use the same makeup and same products everyday.
They look flawless either way
lovethosebudgies I also wish they listed the products
They look flawless no matter what
Where's the "lady tested lady _____*? ☹️
That is what i said aloud to myself..
Bronwyn Thomas bug
No they're talking about the catchphrase they usually say at the end
I think it was branded and they didn't really like the products so to say lady approved would be a lie, and lady don't buy again wouldn't be in terms of the endorsement.
Bronwyn Thomas IM YOUR 1K LIKE... ik nobody cares
Thank you Ladylike for doing this video and being honest about the effects. It was really satisfying to watch and hear you guys tell us what worked for you and what didn't (and not just say "oh wow everything is great!"). I don't have the money to go get the stuff right this second but I definitely added a couple things to my list!
I absolutely LOVE Freddie’s hair
Chantel: "I now have a sty on my eye. I don't know what's going on."
Chantel: *aggressively rubs germ covered fingers on other eye"
Sarah E As an ophthalmic tech, this bothered me so much! lol. I think the product was not good for her skin and the fact she kept rubbing her eyes didn't help. I hope she saw an ophthalmologist or dermatologist!
Sarah E also, her skin didn't have time to get used to the skin routine. That bothered me.
murphan25 everyone rubs their eyes when they wake up. it's not gonna give you a sty otherwise i would always have one. lmao.
Babbity Boo Um...I don't know where you got your information from, but styes are caused by bacteria.
Miss Alyssa Right? I kept wondering why Devon expected a conditioner to lather.
I feel like using a setting powder with the lush makeup would have made it last a little longer but I know that wasn't part of the video theme
when you can't afford lush products but you're still here!
dod zilla some good lush products are actually pretty cheap. Just take a look on their website
Everything else is definitely worth their price.
dod zilla only their bath products are expensive. Their shampoos, dry shampoo, Cuticle butter, body wash all last forevvvvvveerrrr.
shay sounds like such a fun person
I honestly think Kirsten is sooo pretty
Kaylor Tolbert you must think brutish women are attractive
Too Hoo whats a brutish woman?
rosepetal34 think of the word in terms of stout and kind of simple
Too Hoo that is just...plain mean.
She's so pretty😍💖
Freddie: I feel so damn buttery
😂
Ok but mask of magnaminty is amazing
That mask was so harsh on my skin. My face hated it
Its horrible
Tru I love it
I have a break out .-.
Amy Wagner yeah I love it, it helps acne so much!
I MET YOU WHEN YOU WERE AT DISNEYLAND!!!
SAMEEEEE
Met whoopo
Who???
Patrick Ambrose kristin haha
Wow lucky
A conditioner isint supposed to lather tho :/

At 6:00 Kristin flipped us off 😹 lol I love her.
i use ocean salt to exfoliate, herbalism to cleanse, and skin drink to moisterize and i have absolutely flawless skin. i've been using this routine since april and in the past month i've had no blemishes 😍
i just remembered that devin was brunette
Devin :(
how did you forget when her roots are brown and her eyebrows are too?
But like.. when she said that her hair was high maintenance. Have you ever tried to moisturize type 4 hair?!
Smh
S C she doesn’t even know!! 4c hair is theee MOST high maintenance thing eve r
S C No but use this stuff that would probably make Freddie's hair even more beautiful the it is (If that's possible)
can u like, shut up? it’s high maintenance for HER.
She has short, white people hair. Smh
Freddie, "I wash my nether regions with Summer's Eve." *raises eyebrows* Yeah you know, kind of look on her face. That was funny and made me laugh.

Kristin is so funny! She said her makeup was poppin for four hours and then it started to pop off. Girl SAME!
Kristen: YOUR MAKE UP FROM LUSH LOOKS AMAZING!! STICK WITH IT!
The fact that Freddie's routine is so simple yet her skin is so fantastic is kind of telling, I think.
Kristin looks so good in this video! 😍😍😍😍
*FREDDIE I HAATE LOTION TOO I NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE ELSE HATED IT!!*
looks like maybe chantel was having an allergic reaction
Nah, my skin would look like that no matter what all natural stuff I used because acne prone skin doesn't like natural oils so we tend to break out
Bailey Edwards ye but her skin looked like that only after she started using those products
I'm now using a benzoyl peroxide wash and then following with lush toner and moisturizer.
nobody:
lush employees: *Hi welcome to lush is there anything I can help you with* ?
Well what else would they say
