Susan Zurita, what products do you use? I have very oily skin and I still have not found skincare products that agree with my skin.
i have combination/oily/sensitive/confused skin and just dove bar soap and it’s helped soooo much
Some oily skin people don’t moisturize properly so they might think that they have combination skin, but in reality you just need to moisturize. Since my skin is also oily, drying my skin will make me break out. This is because our skin automatically thinks when the skin is dry to oil it up causing breakouts. So moisturizing skin is great for acne prone skin and try to gel moisturizer since they are less heavy\oily.

i was allergic to that cleanser and it broke me out like that
I think it's not an allergic reaction as then it would have more rash and redness and irritation in it. It could be, I'm not specialist. But what my skincare and my friend's adult acne taught me that some products clean up your skin deeply and the first month can be a pimple hell as all the stuff comes off from your face. When it is used to the product and your skin has got rid of all the extra stuff in it, then it'll be like you would be suddenly 5-10 years younger. But only person oneself can know her own skin and really is there something going wrong and one should trust her intuition.
i had an allergic reaction to one of their face masks but it didn't look like that, it was really puffy and bright red
If you drastically switch your entire routine, especially with sensitive skin, your skin freaks out! I have incredibly sensitive skin and the first few times I use a new face wash or other product my face starts to hate me for a few days before it gets better. That could be what happened to Chantel

Poor Chantel, she's probably allergic to an ingredient in the face wash. My skin breaks out like that whenever I use lavender or anything not formulated for sensitive skin
Or those products are just too oily for acne prone skin or her skin in particular, spots covering large portions of her face is a tell tale sign of that. The natural ingredients route that Lush has gone down means that there are lots of oils and extracts in their products. It works really well for moisturising, but not so well of you're trying to keep bacteria and oils at bay, especially in a hot climate. For acne, the less natural route often works better, salicylic acid and synthetic chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide are good at fighting it, and if products are making things worse, just washing with water and then applying a light moisturiser is another option

@@mullecookie8102 It means you have dry skin. Wash your face twice a day, in the morning just warm water, at night with cleansing oil. Pat dry gently with a face towel that you clean regularly. Moisturise right after, now you know your moisturiser has to be for dry skin types. I have a weird type of combination skin where all my face has dry skin, even my forehead, except for my nose, and this is what has worked the best, I used to always break out in winter, not the case at all anymore :)

I LOVE the magnaminty mask/scrub. I get breakouts on my chin and jawline a lot and it helps calm down the acne whilst drying the spots out. My skin never feels dry after either.
Those were not pimples, that is skin irritation. I have super sensitive skin and that is exactly what it does when it is having a bad reaction.

The Indigo Papillon well shit. maybe I've been using shit I shouldn't then. because I notice 'pimples' a day after I use my scrub and they are itchy AF but the weird thing is, they never grow a head. It's like they pop up and are itchy and then like 2 days later they disappear...
The Indigo Papillon that can't be right because I hardly ever wear makeup and those small water pimples were all over my forehead and I started exfoliating and taking better care of my skin and they went away
+puka pechew there less likely to occur the healthier and moisturized your skin is. It doesn't mean irritation didn't occur. I had allergic reaction recently I had put on coconut oil after I shower before my skin really reacted so it helped soothing it. Though I don't put coconut oil on my face so it broke out the worst and my face is irritated now. meanwhile the rest of my body is rather clear. I didn't even break out hardly otherwise.
I miss the way ladylike used to do the final takeaway/how does everybody feel at the end... it's difficult to see how they feel about the products this way, I liked a general consensus at the end

The whole video felt incomplete, like they accidentally lost the last minute of footage or something...
It sounds like they liked some products and didn't like others. I wish they would have discussed each product in their routine and whether they liked it or not. Chantel might have had an allergic reaction to more than one product in her routine, so hard to say there. Seems like Freddie had the best experience with the product(s) she used.
Didn't sound like it.... At least not with half the products... Maybe they didn't want to admit they weren't really keen on the experience and just left it open ended with "... mmm.. yeah... its... nice".. because they were semi working with Lush.(sales associate was escorting them around, they were allowed to film in the store etc.) They are usually more honest when they are trying things out without the person or company watching.

Aminah Khan to be honest their stuff lasts so long. And you don't have to use a crap load of it to get the job done. It really is worth the money, for me at least
If you want to try stuff, ask for a sample! They will give you a sample of almost all products (except maybe the makeup? I haven't asked) but seriously, I have a large container of one of the face masks, that shit will last for MONTHS. It will honestly last me probably a year.

Depending on the product and what suits your skin, I think they can be worth the money. I bought the biggest lump of coal soap they have, cut it into five manageable pieces, and after three years I still have one piece left. The lump cost almost 30 pounds, but it was way cheaper than buying several cleansing products in a year.
I bought one of their smallest pots of face mask for like £7 and it lasted me four months using it twice a week. That's pretty crazy good to be honest with you. To be honest it all depends on how much of a product you're used to using.

I think Chantel broke out so much because her face wasn't used to the Lush products. She said herself that she had been using the same face routine forever. When I change products my face breaks out sometimes, so I think that's what happened to her.
kaylee xo I agree. I use s really good face wash and it works but of I don't use it atleast every two or three days I get break outs pretty badly.
Lush uses a lot of coconut oil and essential oils in their products which really is not as good for your face as a lot of people might think.
kaylee xo A lot of mainstream brands use stuff in their products that mean that as soon as you stop using that product or that ingredient your skin problems come back. I don't think the problem was on lush.
It's also never a good idea to introduce more than 1 new product at the time to your skincare routine. Made that mistake a lot.
At Lush we always say to give your products and your skin like two weeks to get used to each other. When your face is so used to something, like in Chantal's case, then it's definitely doing like a cleanse with the skin. I kinda wished they'd made it like a month with the products instead of a week..
chantel, your face was breaking out because since you used the same skin routine for a long time, every day, you started breaking out because you started a new skin routine. It happens with foundations and primers and any everyday routine in your face.
Absolutely! You could also have had a reaction to something in the product. I know for myself, Lush usually works great but certain ingredients (specifically ones that add scent) cause me to break out similarly to the way yours did.

It is true that skin needs time to adjust, but it's also true that some natural ingredients can be quite irritating the way synthetic ones are (and lush does have synthetic too). Chantel's products had lavender, lemon juice, patcholi oil and fragrance in them - all of which can be fine but also can be very irritating to some people. It could have been that
I used the angels on bare skin cleanser upon recommendation and I found that it broke me out too. I have now found a routine which is mostly natural and A LOT less fragrant than lush. I honestly think lush skincare is overrated and that there are other products out there that do a way better job.
I feel like using a setting powder with the lush makeup would have made it last a little longer but I know that wasn't part of the video theme
I went to lush for hair things and they just gave me a bunch of big free samples that lasted me a week...I followed them on Instagram and my mum rang them to say thank you..they were all so nice and I just LOVE it there x

I have oily skin with acne too and I'm using the Tea Tree water for about 1-2 weeks now, and it hasn't made my acne worse, I actually have a feeling that it's clearing up
Merel Van Poucke It's because tea tree oil is a natural stripper! When it's in a toner water it helps to strip excess oils left over in the skin after cleansing, which helps to keep breakouts at bay. I've been using the Tea Tree Water myself since about Christmas time, and I used to get bad stress breakouts with my previous skin routine, using a gentle toner, and since using the Tea Tree Water I haven't had them anywhere near as bad!
My sisters with acne prone skin use natural oils all the time... Don't think it's bad for your skin at all. But I definitely agree it looks like a allergic reaction not a break out. Was probably allergic to something in the products. People can be allergic to some weird things.
My takeaway is this, lush is awesome when you get used to the products

dod zilla some good lush products are actually pretty cheap. Just take a look on their website
Plus you could get a lot of free samples, literally they basically push you to get free samples when you're in there!!! Just don't go in and ask for freebies of everything, because that's rude.
But really their stuff is not that expensive, really the only things that are is that one around $80 moisturizer (that totally smells like corn tortillas) and the bath bombs. Everything else is definitely worth their price.

It was really satisfying to watch and hear you guys tell us what worked for you and what didn't (and not just say "oh wow everything is great!"). I don't have the money to go get the stuff right this second but I definitely added a couple things to my list!

Hannah Stanford You're right in that it doesn't cause things like styes but it's not a good thing to do in general. Your hands can transmit germs and dirt and stuff to your eyes if you're constantly rubbing them. It also means that you may have vision issues if you do it all the time.

LUSH technically is not organic. Being registered as organic is a pricey process and some of their small vendors cannot afford the testing. Some ingredients used are organic, just not all. The company would rather use small batch ethically sourced ingredients, even if that means they cannot slap the word "organic" on the products. - Love a former LUSH employee

Lush have some very overpriced products and other that are great value. Their soaps, solid shampoos ad conditionner in particular are great because they last forever! Their face tonic and dry shampoo last a super long time as well (I'm coming on 6 months with my face tonic and the bottle is very far from empty). The bath bombs etc. and the liquid soaps and shampoos are overpriced, as are some of the face washes.

I wouldn't say overpriced. You get what you pay for. Sure you can buy drug store brand face wash for cheaper but it's full of crap and chemicals. Lush tries to keep things as pure and natural as possible. No not all face washes are for everyone. Took me about a year of trying lush face washes before I found one perfect for me. Same with a facial moisturizer. The first thing they try isn't always going to be the best. It is also common to break out when changing a skin care routine. That doesn't mean the products are bad. Lavender is also a calming flower so it actually calms the skin. The whole dried bud is added as an exfoliating tool. Lush ships all around the world FYI so you can order. Bath bombs are a luxury bath product so yes they will be more pricey. It's for fun a and relaxation. My son loves bath bombs and bubble bars. As do I. I just buy when I have money for them. Or Christmas buy one get one free sale.
carley schaffer actually, some says that lavender is irritating, so that's why i said that maybe the lavender irritated her skin. In my country we have those kinds of handmade, natural products, just WAY cheaper, that's why I said that they are overpriced, to me. Chemicals can be good, you know. I buy my face wash from the drugstore and it doesn't have those nasty chemicals, only good ones. Shipping is pretty expensive, also it notmally took about 2-4 weeks for a packet from overseas to get here, that's not gonna be fresh right :(

so, i heard this from i think anne tran (her youtube channel) in her skincare routine, she said that your skin gets addicted to neutrogina and one other brand (i don’t remember) and once you go away from their products, you break out.

I think its because lush has so much scent and essential oils ( that are too strong for the sensitive skin on you face) in their product and it causes redness and irritation
Probably a combination of both your answers. I used to have the same issue Chantel had, and now I found products that work with my skin and don't irritate them. But that was after trying different things.
