    • @blowitoutyourcunt7675
      @blowitoutyourcunt7675 6 лет назад +84

      @thisbitch 123 No one is the perfect human being! Someone who reuses and recycles their everything in addition to paying attention to animal testing as well, are you that person? I know I'm not and most people aren't either. I'm not a Mac fan but honestly this Grinch attitude of 'nothing anybody ever does is enough' on the Internet is sickening.
      Do what you can, go with what you believe in and do your best! For some people that's going to be returning the containers to Mac for recycling and others is going to be not using Mac at all because they use animals in makeup testing.
      Why everybody got to be so mean and grouchy with each other? Get a grip, be nicer and do what you can in your life to help. Very easy, no grinching necessary!

      I forgot to mention the mason jar I use has a handle. That does help tremendously.
      Now it's winter & I use one of those re-usable insulated coffee things. Trying to be mindful/aware of these things & efforts to reduce one's carbon footprint on the world is extremely satisfying imho.
      I have alot of grocery bags, I don't use plastic for a long time now. Even have little mesh ones for the produce section so I don't have to use those thin plastic bags for fruits/veggies, etc :-P

    • @Milkpastasoup
      @Milkpastasoup 5 лет назад +12

    • @AuraGrimaldo
      @AuraGrimaldo 7 лет назад +12

      It's not that hard, honestly. I'm such a lazy person and if I can do it anyone can! Start with small simple swaps, like taking your own bags when you go to the grocery store, or your water bottle instead of the plastic ones. In the long run is better for everyone and you save a tons of money!

    • @rebeccaelise3080
      @rebeccaelise3080 7 лет назад +2

      My zero waste mantra is “use what you have and do what you can”.
      Just make a couple small, simple swaps like reusable bags for grocery shopping and taking your own reusable water bottle with you. When you can, add in another change/swap. You’ll be surprised over time how many changes you can make.
      You absolutely don’t need to change everything all at once - even the smallest changes make a difference.

    • @mommyslosingit
      @mommyslosingit 7 лет назад +1

      Rebecca Elise I know. I already do reusable bags and water bottles, it’s just stuff comes with so much dang packaging! I try and do bulk with a mason jar as much as i can but since i moved from LA no one really has those bulk buns. I bought batteries and each battery was individually wrapped. Why?! Such a waste 🙄

    • @Mittzie
      @Mittzie 7 лет назад

      One of the biggest things is reusable packaging bulk food stores butchers shops for any meat products (bring your own reusable containers for the meat and tell them not to use the plastic coated butcher paper) and when you do have to buy something in a package make sure it's compostable.

    THEY SHOULD DO A WEEK ON SOLID BEAUTY PRODUCTS.
    I travel a lot and I can do a complete beauty routine with a full face of makeup for two weeks with 2Tbsp’s worth of liquid. The only parts that don’t exist in a solid form are medicated skin serum and lash glue and most people don’t use either of those. The rules of the challenge are simple, NOTHING that the TSA considers a liquid, gel or aerosol.
    P.S. If you’re trying this in real life I suggest you fill your liquid bag with small tub of spf face cream, a small bottle of smashbox’s primer water, a tube of mascara and as many liquid lipsticks/glosses as you need.

    Perhaps not considered a "beauty product", but cloth pads are MUCH more comfortable than the sweaty disposable ones. The cloth pads have buttons instead of the glue disposable ones have, so they don't ruin the fabric in your underwear. And you don't need to panic because you always have pads in the house :)

Add sewing machine, skills and voila! Or you can buy them for way too much money ;) Still would be better than buying n plastic and paper disposable pads.

    • @missberyl
      @missberyl 7 лет назад +15

      Zero waste includes anything that can be recycled/composted/is biodegradable. So any glass, metal, and paper products/packaging is a-ok, and some plastics are recycleable, but many are not. Many zero wasters choose to avoid plastic as much as possible even if it is a type of plastic that is relatively easy to recycle.
      If you mean the air miles of shipping stuff, you can search locally for things or even make them yourself. Many companies who appeal to zero wasters use all post-consumer recycled shipping materials, and use compostable tape and shipping peanuts. There is no such thing as absolutely ZERO waste, all the gurus will tell you this, because you can’t control up the chain where waste happens. Even shipping via carrier pidgeon isn’t guaranteed to be zero waste because the person feeding them might use seeds that come in plastic bags 😜
      The point is to reduce as much as possible the most harmful aspects of our modern lives ^^

      Au NATurel Vegan I understand that, my point is, if they are penalised or held responsible for the amount of plastics and other non desposable waste they produce, then they are incentivised to:
      1. Do what Berlin does, and put a deposit on bottles and stuff (like 50 cents, which you get back if you recycle the bottle)
      Or 2: create disposable and more environmental friendly packaging.

      No you can teach your kids. The problem isn't having children, it's not teaching them to care about the planet and being a throw away consumerist. I'm a mom of 2 and I teach my kids to buy second hand , compost, use reusable bags etc.

    When I saw Freddie using coconut oil as a moisturizer, I died inside. Coconut oil clogs pores

      Tina BTS coconut oil is actually amazing for hair and skin. It's one of those things where you either love it or hate it.

    I totally agree with them! Honey used as a mask is the best thing ever! My skin has never felt so soft and it reduces the size of my zits when I break out. Thank you nature!

    This is why I try and only buy things in containers that are recyclable. Sure it's not zero waste but I'm doing the best that I can for what works best for me.
