      Ikr, honestly shocking and in L.A too, of all places not to recommend an SPF lol.
      Speaking of which that Auri girl who's routine only included a bar of soap and jojoba oil (which is great and all don't get me wrong) should *really really* think of investing in an SPF.
      She's pale, freckly and living in L.A lol. And there are zero waste SPFs out there, usually pure zinc or titanium oxide pastes that are refillable and in reusable tin containers.

      Since those are made of polyester which when you wash them they get into the ocean which is not the best material to use for that reason. So far I like using cotton and bamboo, there are other natural materials like hemp fabric which I haven’t tried but there’s a lot of alternatives out there.

    • @liisa5037
      @liisa5037 5 лет назад +11

      @@pineapple365 yes! It could be a short term solution, but not long term. Micro plastics are a huge problem and what are you going to do with it if/when it's unuseable. You can't recycle it and its just going to end up in landfill. That's why people should start using products with natural materials.

    Yessss I love these zero waste videos! I am a mama of soon to be 4 kids. I don't have a lot of time but once they all go to bed this is what I do for skin care...
    I made my own face scrubbies and unpaper towels from cotton woven and cotton terry fabrics. First, I wash my face with a bar of soap that I bought from HEB (a texas store) and then I go over it with a toner. That is not zero waste but its better than what I was doing before! Then with my unpaper towel I dry my face and put coconut oil. That's it!!

      Not necessarily zero waste but I use the supergoop invincible setting powder, it’s 45 spf and a mineral sunscreen. Another thing I like is that you buy the whole thing at once but once it’s out, you can buy powder refills so at least it’s less plastic. Also I use it at the very end, not as a setting powder but to just add an extra layer of spf, and it doesn’t mess up my foundation

      Seems like she’s washing her face afterwards. Also if you’ve ever heard of the oil cleansing method, it’s where you basically massage oil into your skin to break down sebum and then you use a very hot cloth that you wring out to kind of steam your face before wiping away the oil, and it is supposed to get rid of any oil in your pores.
