I grew up in the 70s(52yrs old now) & still have around 50 records(LPs), plus my stereo all components (record player as well). You just can't get the same sound out of today's music, even the stuff put out on vinyl today.. great stuff. About "Kaleo", they're from Iceland & the name of the band is the lead singer's last name. Their style is all over the place..Rock, Pop/top 40, but heavier on Blues than any other genre. ENJOY. p.s. I really liked your reaction video. Bobby (P.C. FL).
Loved seeing your reaction. I LOVE Kaleo. I am just digging into their songs a little at a time because I want to savor them! Don't want to eat all my candy at once! I know I am not a Patreon member but I was thinking if you wanted to get back to your grand father's music and those roots, check out John Lee Hooker, Anna Mae. Well, that is my personal favorite but anything off of the album, Chill Out. There are even collaborations, one with Carlos Santana and another with Van Morrison! I was mostly just recommending these for your pleasure but if you happen to check out Annie Mae, I would love to watch! LOL
I love this band so much. I have been listening to KALEO since 2016. I love them. If you aren't tapping, you're probably dead XD. I am all of those persons. I love CDs and vinyl, but I also use Spotify.
Don't stop here.. You have to get into their whole album. If you like this, you'll love the whole project. They even played a song INSIDE OF A VOLCANO!
Bunch of white Icelandic types that still had the guts to cover a slave song "Broken Bones". It's from the heart and they do it so well I doubt anyone complains.
Good reaction! 🙂 No Good is one of my favorites of Kaleo's on their A/B album. Kaleo is from the Hawaiian language and it means "voice" or "sound." The first song I heard of theirs was Broken Bones on Pandora, and I loved it. Will you please, please react to this live version of Broken Bones? Kaleo's lead singer, JJ, has said it was written from the POV of an African-American slave. ruclips.net/video/BtC4SLFlJ0Q/видео.html To answer your questions, though my dad liked Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, The Temptations, etc., I wasn't raised listening to blues, but I've explored it on my own and come to love it the last 15 years. My father listened to some of his music on vinyl records during my childhood.
They're from Iceland. Have a great video in which they play in a volcano. Love his soulful voice.
