  • Not Fallout 4 lore-friendly, but I wanted to create a mountaintop player home using pre-war and Institute assets for the ultimate home in FO4.

Nice job, & great view. Not sure if you know yet, but if you custom bake your LOD you can have your customized textures & mods in the far distant views. There's instructions on the nexus for doing TexGen & LODGen, it also can improve the visuals of distant objects if you add in the other accompanying mods that are lod related, the guide will tell ya the options & choices.

@@JabberGames its impressive what it does, not quite as much as skyrim edition, but nearly all of the features. Once you do it and compare the difference you'll always do it lol you get tons more in distant views but it still performs great.
I hope bethesda adds this as a inbuilt feature some day, if it could also account for settlement objects lod plus auto run previs on them even better, supposedly in Starfield bethesda changed the lod & previs stuff a lot in the engine, but ive yet to play it & see.

@@macronomicus I know a lot of people at Bethesda have been there for a long time... is this detrimental to their games? It kinda feels like modders know how to fix/enhance these games but bethesda doesn't..or worse, too lazy to.

@@JabberGames They love gamers I think, its great what they can do & bethesda opens up the games for it more than anyone really. Basically with such huge projects focus can only go in as best as possible in the moment, but they must master it unmoded of course. Modders multiply efforts tremendously adding countless more time & creativity into refining things further.
Ive never built a game, but in other business I can relate to time/energy crunch, limited man-hours to draw upon, & a target list rated in importance to achieve, invariably something will fall lower in the stack that us modders will find, maybe bethesda will patch it, or not, it really depends I guess on staff size & focus of the moment.

You might as well delete trees with the console, it really shouldn't break precombines that far out anyway
