I dont think he should be banned. I have a marwyn eldrazi deck, and i can pretty regularly get 12 mana out of her on turn 3. Im not saying he isnt strong, but he isnt broken by any means.
@@michaeldavis9807 I think it's not a high ceiling issue, but a high floor issue. An unfocused Rofellos will present a challenge to many tuned or optimized lists because of the raw power of a 2-mana, wrath-resilient mana-doubler in the command zone. Without speaking hyperbolically, Rofellos *always* threatens a 6 CMC spell on turn three with next to no constraints on deckbuilding. Is it better than Urza? @Daft Skunk I'm referring to "good" in a "good for bird tribal" meaning, not competitive. I play Ishai more for flavor than anything else. It's meant to be a goofy deck while also being somewhat playable at a big table. While Inniaz is cool, he makes me a larger target than I'd like. I just want to be that guy dropping Storm Crow and Suntail Hawk on the board and watching my opponents not really take me seriously.
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and Multani, Maro-Sorcerer are my favorite underrated green commanders. They both have super strange builds that can win out of nowhere.
I built an Azusa deck with big stompy green guys which was my first deck. Later on I found Omnath and added him in as an optional commander; who I then grew to love more than Azusa. Does anyone else just love easy to pilot commanders that slot in anywhere? Omnath is such a badass.
So I have a reason for running a single partner as a commander, me and my play group have been talking about 2 headed giant commander games, and each player doing 1 partner.
Gorm Old so the way we’ve figured it out was that they would be just for the individual playing them, but you run battle bond esque effects, that had an emphasis on teams
Salt's my thought is that it only really works with a couple of them, some of them it’s just like playing two separate decks, that don’t have great interaction, and there aren’t enough good cards in every color for all the commanders to be useable
Wish we had more partner commanders. From the sounds of it though you aren't letting the commanders trigger on each other? Like the one out of CIkoria that puts a +1/+1 on creatures you control when they deal combat damage to a player. Can they affect their partners?
My favourite is Freyalise. I just love how you can do so much with the commander. I've given my friends PTSD every time they see an elf😅 Doesn't help that I played Vorinclex in the deck. I also loved playing The Great Aurora and seeing myself go from 5 lands to 9 and see my opponents go from 5 to sometimes zero😅
To be honest, alot of budget options have become more expensive. Its kind of annoying but at the same time it means more people are playing and im certainly happy about that. Its an annoying situation
I like Yisan and play him differently each game, though I still laughed at your description of him. When I play Yisan, I'm tapping on other people's turns to try and find answers to whatever people are doing at the time. I can hunt for ramp if I'm behind, removal if others are getting nasty, and protection if people are trying to stop me from pumping Yisan. Definitely hard to keep him on the field long enough for the big boys though.
As for me, I LOVE Sasaya. I love her so much I made an alternate art proxy where she transforms instead of flips. My deck is a dichotomy of land searching and win condition searching, and some new cards are helping me further develop it!
I've played against a Questing Beast deck. If you build it right, it can be a real pain to deal with, and it's pretty simple to make work. Step one, give trample. Step two, buff. Step three, attack and fog (your damage can't be prevented!) Step four, get into an hour long argument about how trample-deathtouch works.
One of my first ever EDH decks was Sachi Shamans, and I still have it built today. He didn't use the full 10 seconds, in which he could have made the comment "you should see some of the shamans you can choose from!" Allosaurus Shepherd, Eternal Witness, Oracle of Mul Daya, Reclamation Sage, Tajuru Preserver, Thrun, Woodfall Primus, Yeva. Just a few examples of why the deck can be nasty.
So...I was at the lgs one night--back when we could still do that--and we were all pretty sure my son was going to win on his next turn. So player 4 drops a board wipe, and I activated Jolreal, Empress of Beasts and turned my own son's lands into 3/3s. Still haven't lived that one down. (But it was AMAZING!)
Rhonas fightclub is cool, but have you ever tried _Rhonas lure_ ? Plus, giving him trample in mono green is easy, and Ikoria gave us very efficient ways to to do so.
Partner commanders without the partners can be fun. Just got done building Okaun, mono red cyclops tribal with a cycling subtheme. I call it, cycleops.
I’ve been playing a Kogla human tribal deck. It’s actually a lot of fun. It plays a lot of under used cards, especially the mana dorks that untap lands instead of add mana.
Omnath, locus of mana is my favorite mono green commander. Because searching for land cards(kodamas reach), is nice but ultimately for plebs. When I can just play mana doubling cards and (X) spells to get 40+ power creatures to just edge my life total above everyone else's. To win with an instant speed victory via Squall line. Finally, even if i don't win. I get to play a personnel best game with my self to see how big I can get a creature. Aka didn't win but got an over 100+ power creature on the board. With out combo, still won in my
Working on a mono green commander +1/+1 counter deck. Can't wait to complete it. Goreclaw Terror of Qal Sisma is the commander for now. Just about every card I put in will have some kind of +1/+1 ability But best believe I have Impervious Greatwurm in this sucker
Mono green spirit tribal is a thing, though. Sekki is an amazing spirit commander. All you need is an anthem effect and he can't die from damage. Then just make him fight with the largest creature in play while you have a Parallel Lives, Doubling Season, etc. out. I have gone from Sekki being my only creature to Sekki plus 128 spirit tokens with a Coat of Arms in play in a single opponent's turn.
With as many times as you said "spirit tribal isn't a thing for green" I'm thinking you could toss em all in a pile with a few changlings and have a 3-4 power level deck for fun and you could swap commanders to keep it fresh
I actually think that Freyalise makes a better mono green good stuff/ramp commander than an elf style commander. Ezurri and Marwyn are just better at leading elves.
I have a Mowu (Loyal Companion) stompy brew with God-Eternal Rhonas, Questing Beast, Renata (Called to the Hunt), and Syr Faren (the Hengehammer) in the 99.

She's such a unique and awesome Voltron commander, but I've had some problems with the politics and fitting her into multiplayer against non-Voltron decks (despite Ajani's Chosen and Archon of Sun's Grace)... I got so happy when you said Voltron and Enchantments are budget-friendly over at the Command Zone!!
I am using polkarus world eater, still deciding if it is the best commander for my deck. But nice to remove multiple creatures. So many strategies rely on multiple 1/1 or 2/2 creatures. If you get enough mana you can sweep them.
I watched the video twice and didn’t see Budoka Gardener // Dokai, Weaver of Life. Budoka places lands from your hand onto the battlefield and then flips into Dokai who makes an elemental token with power/toughness equal to your lands. I usually run him in the 99 of my lands and token decks but he could make an interesting commander on his own. Maybe it’s because the pre-flip part of the card isn’t a legendary creature, but it’s not overpowered so I feel like many playgroups would allow it.
Challenge: use the green way of spiting lands into the battlefield to "compensate" the overcosted kamigawa cards into making a kodama of the central tree tribal with all the payoffs. xD
You should totes make a Silvanos Deck. I'd battle with Jareth, Leon Titan from the same cycle as he is my favorite from childhood. I'd probably loose as Jareth is mono white but it would be fun nonetheless.
Ezuri likes regenerating other Elves, so he can't target himself. Well I wanted to build Simic Ezuri anyways, might as well break the laws of the universe and protect Ezuri with himself. Kinda...
Green commanders are really cool and powerful but the best commanders are always white-blue like the game's best commander bruna light of alabaster who could really use a deck tech.

Long have I waited
facts, though
Ghalta is hungry for one thing, and that's vehicles
