That is a great looking truck. I'm not a wrench-on guy, but I love these old trucks. The patina, the lack of rust - what a find. Can't wait to so see more. I'm a subscriber for the Scouts (my favorite from my high school days in the late 70's) but this truck is a beauty.

Check the VIN plate on the Driver's door the information should be there, pertaining to the year and axles.

Inspirational! I just got a 73 Travelall that was sitting in a field for 30 years. I got it running, but fine-tuning it is a different story. And I can't find a lot of good info on vacuum lines and such for the Travelalls. But I hope to get it purring down the road sometime this year.

Hi Sean, it's definitely either a 57 or 58 model. This style grille was only used on 57 and 58 models. Also, the B-Series came out in 1959.

Hey man, I just want to give a little bit of information. the A120 would be the 3/4 ton rate for those trucks, thus the 6 lug pattern wheels and the full float; the rear axle is going to be an IH in house axle, RA series. RA15/RA20. The brakes will be tough to find, I think.

I wonder if that was a Navy truck originally, the color leads me to think that. The frame needs welds and reinforcement with plates to strengthen it,maybe you could repurpose the steel from the snow plow mounts to plate the frame cracks?

My 67 1200 looks a lot like this, the dash is different. Mine 2X4 with 6 cylinder 3 speed. Snap ring wheels that Nobody will touch. Its a work in progress Parts are scarce as hens teeth and pretty expensive. Since I can't find engine parts I'm thinking of putting an AMC Jeep 6 cylinder in it.

Pull the spark plugs first an̈d put some sort of lubricant in the cylinders before turning the engine over with dry cylinders!!

I have a 1960 B120 4x4 daily driver. Grandpa bought it new in 1960. I can send you some pictures of it if I can get ahold of you. Thanks.

The A in the A120 designates Anniversary. You have the anniversary model truck. It's a 1958 I do believe. I have the same truck, but it's a one ton fire truck. Mine has just over 10,000 original miles. Sirens, emergency lights, fire hoses, pumps etc. all work! I'm wanting to change out the split rim wheels to regular wheels and put new tires on the truck. Do you know where I could get wheels? I also have a box of parts - I haven't looked in the "box" in ten years. I'll see if I have any emblems you may need etc. No promises, but I'll take a look.
I'm not sure how I can share pictures with you. Do we break rules on youtube by exchanging contact info. somehow? Cheers to cool old trucks - especially IH A120 All Wheel Drive.!!

The patina is epic , please don’t paint it !

One more time for those in the back... It's not patina, it's rust. Rust, abuse and neglect. Those attributes should not be encouraged or admired. Grow up and protect it with primer and paint.
