It works in every way. If you really look at the principle, it FOCUSes on relaxation. If you relax on the right part/action/movement, your body structure and physical focus will follow; no standing or moving person will be on your way for a long time. This is outstanding by the way. A very important internal arts-principle. Very lucky who possesses it and my respect goes to the teacher here who is showing it...because this is one of the most important essences of internal martial arts.

ktl2828 You can easily apply these principles to those situations as well. This video is one of the rare gems of youtube. Fantastic demonstration, we are lucky...

This is a very good instructor, he fully know what is he doing and he put his knowledge in word. In term of power coming from relaxation, how does it compares with TaiChi ??

For some reason, I can’t respond to Kazuto’s comment, hence this separate comment. It’s funny you say this. Tony works for the ATO. He’s a very deep thinker, a lovely person and generous with his time when teaching.

Hehe...This is like mini-Aikido and mini-Taiji Quan. Absorb, Redirect or Return, all in a fraction of a second. Well done!

This guy is clearly very good at teaching. Judging from his voice and the way he teaches, he's also clearly university educated. Not sure in what degree though. But he sounds like a university lecturer.

    Precious lesson about body target.
Sifu, in Karate the focus is behind the target, in order to deliver more force.
Since I switched to Wing Chun I can see the difference, relaxation is much more efficient and powerful.
Do you focus then on the target of slight behind it?
    Thank you Sifu.

DaZKooL Tony was focussing on the spine, which is why Anthony couldn’t feel the force in his body; just his spine.

hahah... there's a lot of stuff on WC out there (as you can see on youtube), but this is truly unique and I haven't seen anyone else (outside this lineage) that understands WC like this.
What lineage of WC did you learn if u don't mind me asking?

d_trinh Tony learnt under Sifu Jim Fung. Tony also spent time training with Sifu Jim’s Master, Sigung Chu.

Working very well, but you must not use it against empty door , hiding your Yi is very important, because if you are fighting against equal opponent he will be able to do the same to you and also feeling when, where and how you gonna you gonna do it and could set up an empty trap , so hiding your Yi/focus/intention/target is very important to be practiced too, also the force is not coming from your body mass ,but this is explanation to Western educated people, who have to be sure that is something real and could be measured by numbers , however I know people who generated power which is much more than their bodies would be allowed to do in normal physics laws ,I am sure your teacher could do it and probably you could do it also, also in the West and in low level WC or any other internal art they will tell you that the energy from the opponent is going to the ground and it could be done , but in fact this is low level WC, higher level made the energy disappear and can not be measured where is going by the equipment science currently possess,so don't make borders on yourself about transferring only the body mass- you could do a lot more than that! When it comes to human body, spirit and mind those ancient people knew much more than we know today, especially in the West we are thinking too much proud and high for our knowledge, despite the fact that all of science booming and creation of science were based and inspired by Middle East and Eastern old documents and information,so may be we are not that bright as we love to be,may be humble ourselves and opening for new angles will be better than claiming something doesn't exist because we are not able to detect it, however well established scientific theories as dark energy or dark matter are told in our schools, but nobody detected dark energy or dark matter either!
