  • She RAN AWAY because we discovered something TERRIFYING in the Overgrown Grass!
    I was driving through town and noticed this Overgrown Lawn that was so tall in the front yard, you couldn’t even see the house behind it. I stopped and knocked on the door and learned that the family couldn’t even come out the front door because all the bee’s and snakes. You won’t believe the thickness of this grass. Jessica came with me and started trimming in the tall Overgrown grass got so scared, she ran away and tripped me as well. This yard was buried with critters. To make things worse, the family was hyper allergic to bee’s and getting stung by one could result in instant fatality.

    That was probably her mothers pollinators garden. The golden rod will be back next year. It has a strong running root system. The hydrangea bush by the front door had sterile blooms, so there are no bees that go there. Large black and yellow bumble bees do not have stingers. They just harass. What would you do without "Mr. Mulchie"? What a work out. Great transformation as always.

    • @user-wy1ko7gh2z
      @user-wy1ko7gh2z 18 дней назад +1

      Oh? They sure DO have stingers! Remembering many years ago when I accidentally walked into one on low flowers bordering a walkway. It got me in the ankle, and I had to beg some ice cubes to shove in my sock, just to make it back home from that walk. I am not sure about "sterile blooms". Just because something does not produce a fruit or a seed does not mean bees do not feed from the flowers.

And in general, if you leave bees alone, they won't bother you (they should look into buying an EpiPen though). I hope Jessica wasn't hurt by the fall. I believe the tall yellow ones are goldenrod (it's a by-law infraction to have them in my former city. They're a common allergen). The end result was terrific & I'm sure a relief to the family - great work by both of you!

    Bees and snakes are common in the area. Many years ago, I was clearing a side growth on property we owned near Tekonsha when the mower ran on top of a hornets nest that was in the ground under tall grass. Before I could get to the house, I had 8 nasty stings. The mower was still running on top of the nest until it ran out of gas. We could not get close. The bees apparently attacked the running blades which took them out. Not one bee was left when I returned that evening. The Family kept an eye on me and treated the stings with dampened baking soda for a couple of days.

    Well, now that Grandma's prized flowers are gone, you should probably get the rocks out of there and just grow grass in the front or maybe a vegetable garden. You get it Jessica you got this. Give it a little gas you can do it. I am glad to see your wife out helping you as well. Have a great day

    Phenomenal job Eric,and wife. The weeds with yellow tops are, Golden Rod, it grows anywhere it can. It's really bad if you have allergies. Some also call it Rag Weed. That's one of the reasons why the woman's husband can't go outside of his house. I would be sneezing all the time if I lived there. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️🚜.

    Eric, I have watched your channel for a few years. I've always admired your channel and especially your work ethic since you started helping people out with overgrown yards.
    The one that stands out was when you were cleaning a tall, overgrown area and discovered a CAR hidden in all the foliage.
    Do you do areas upon request? My wife and I are disabled now and can't tend to the landscaping in our recently purchased home. I have a zero turn mower, so I can cut the grass, but neither of us can stand or get down on our knees to take care of the flower beds. They are being taken over by the weeds. Your help would really be appreciated. Thank you for all you do!! ❤️

    I'd react the same if I saw a snake. 😲 The yellow blooming tall ones (and the ones around it) are weeds and need to be pulled out by the root. Anything else in the way of just cutting them down and they'll surely grow back. When it's a more natural back yard area it doesn't matter much but when it's a front of property/yard area your best bet is to remove them, not just cut back. But perhaps your monster shredder may really get them "gone." Love seeing your wife working along with you on this one. 🙂 You have a great heart for doing for others and I know everyone you help out is so appreciative!

    We are bee keepers. The undesired shrubs can easily be trimmed or eliminated before they bloom. Bees hibernate during the winter. A bee suit and netted hat offer plenty of protection if he’s still hesitant. Her husband CAN get out there and work on the yard.

    The bushy plant by the gate at the corner of the house is called Poke Weed. You will have to dig it out at the roots , all of it or it will just come back, the yellow flowering plants in the big circle was golden rod. It's a native plant to the eastern US, so is the Poke Weed.😊

    Loved the video and seeing your wife join you. Like me, she is a workhorse (no disrespect intended). When I start using the weed eater or mowing, my nose is to the ground until I get it done. As for the snake, I would have taken out an entire football team to get away. That is what you call being deathly afraid of them, poisonous or not. Another job well done. Looking forward to your next overgrown adventure.
