Great paintwork Jamie, Chipping, and weathering look fantastic to me, you do a lot of work before decalling and this gives me ideas for my own work, Eduard's decals look pretty trouble-free when you use them, thanks for the presentation
Congratulations with those small beauties😀i love the look you gave them👍🤩 I recognize your defense for Eduard and the Eduard decals. I build Eduard kits with much pleasure, and have just purchased 3 Zippers. I also think the black and white Eduard decals are very nice and novel in approach. But i do not like the Eduard decals in color, They are too weak in color saturation. For the Zippers (f-104 C Starfighters) i bought Caracal Decals for F-104 in Vietnam War. They are printed by Cartograph, and just as i want decals to be. I couldn't help notice that a few Xtra Decals crept on the vintervash BF-109😃 I think they made you model even more perfect. If Eduard could get the same color saturation on their decals, it would be perfect, and i would quit japping😁 Thank you for taking up the Elephant in the room with Eduard Decals, and keep us inspired😀 Inspired and happy modeling. Lars
I was looking forward to seeing your winter camo paint technique, must say I’m very impressed, a great tutorial for reference should anyone be tackling this type of scheme , excellent outcome and a great explanation of all the steps 👍👏
Absolutely stunning build, Jamie. Those 109Fs are incredible, they look really fun to put together and the painting/weathering is very inspiring - especially the winter whitewash!
Nice pair. 😁 If 1/72 kits were this good in the 70s, I probably wouldn’t have gone into 1/48 as my scale of choice. Really enjoyed your winter whitewash technique and can’t wait to try it out. Cheers.
Fantastic double build, really enjoyed the entire process. How thin do you dilute the Mr 1500 primer? The multi levels and embellishments on the winter camo version really gave depth and contrast to the finish which could have looked one dimensional as a scheme. Smashed it! Congratulations on 3K. 🥇🥇
amazing work yet again Jamie and some of the fine detail is stunning, not sure I could do it but looks great, tempted to find a kit to do my own winter scheme on. Just wanted to ask two questions if I may, for the eduard decals what decal solutions did you use?, I have ammo mig fix. Second do you always use MRP paints for german colours, or is it just what you have avaliable?
Hi Jamie, your channel has become my favorite in the last year, here yo have build really "beautyful new machines". Can you tell me, who flew the f-2 in summer camoouflage and what decals you used? I can't identify the scheme, jg.53 clear, but exactly? Thank you!
HI mate, so glad you like the channel so far. I have no idea of the pilot of the JG.53 scheme I'm afraid. There is a very well known colour photo of this aeroplane in winter camouflage, I thought I'd do something a little different.
It's not designed to be built gear up but I guess it could be done but you'll have to do some modelling. I would certainly recommend it to beginners, it fits very well but I would be tempted to do the new K-4 first, that is a newer, and better kit.
Jamie , it looks like due to the white wash you have not used the stencil decals at all, am I right saying that? pls advise , I am in the middle of the build of f2, cheers
Have done plenty of winter wash on armour, never on an aircraft...this is inspiring me to have a go. Fascinating to watch...many thanks for sharing 👌👍
Go for it mate!
Well done Jamie mate, looks brilliant and a masterclass in air brushing, great stuff.
Thanks Stephen
Stunning presentation…and a very effective and helpful tutorial. Your channel has become one of favorites.
Thanks Richard, that's very kind

Works of art. I can only look on in amazement at your skill.
Beautiful. It’s hard to believe that you are working in 1/72 scale
Thanks mate
Awesome build, it's tempting me to pull one out of my stash. Look forward to your next build video.
Thanks Bill
This was such a helpful series I’m definitely going to e a go of winter whitewash on a Sturmovich

Thanks Tony. I use Mr Hobby thinner, no ratios, I just use trial and error. 3000 subs is very exciting!

I used Ammo Setting solution only, NO solvent. I prefer MRP and use them on anything I can!

What s you airbrush ? The work is beautiful !
Iwata HP-CH. Thanks mate
I have 2 questions
Can this be built with gear up?
And is this recommended for beginners?

That's correct mate, they just sprayed right over them. Check photos though, some of the fuel triangles may be visible.
many thanks Jamie, cheers@@thescalemodellingcafe
Nice kit and nice build but unfortunately with one very visible error.
So obvious I missed it, whatever it is?
