Built 2 mk. Xvi 1 high back & a bubble top (eduard limited edition.) 2 kits in the same box, and I'm currently working on 2 mk. Xvi spitfire with the clipped wings. One is from the limited edition of the rise of the bubbletops, and the other is a profi pack
David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Friday, 16 August, 2024) Thank you for your review. I actually have been looking to 1:32nd-scale kits. This was interesting and intriguing on its own merits. I am very myopic, and I like the much greater level of detail they offer.
The Mark XVI had s different supercharger and the upper cowl was slightly modified to suit. The same panel also could be fitted the Mark IX, so it could be found on both types. Later Mk IXs were bubbletops and all of them used the XVI type upper cowl. The MkXVI was the last of the Merlin engined variants.
Thanks for the great review,i have heard that some planes kept their invasion stripes on the underside of the fuselage but removed them on the wings. i think it was so they would still be reckognised by their own groundforces without showing the stripes to German planes flying above them.
Having a one piece closed canopy also makes for a good mask for painting if you're going on to make an open canopy version. The only fault in detail that I can see with this kit is the one that is in every Spitfire kit except the 1:32 Kotare ones - there should be no visible rivets on the leading edges. They were filled and sanded at the factory before primer an paint was applied (similar to the wings of a Mustang).

The filters that you mentioned are actually radiators, lovely kit, have this.
Ok cool. Looking forward to building it!

That’s interesting, definitely makes sense!
Have a great build. 🛩

Interesting I didn’t know that. Might try sanding them off now
