Yes it's true. All the old games. Online play. Everything you wanted. Hear the crowd roar. Taken at Capcom Cup 2017.
This collection means a lot to people who grew up with Street Fighter. For those who didn't, this is where it all started. There was nothing like it at the time. Truly made fighting games what they are today.

Getting this day one. I stopped playing at 4. I grew up in these and they were the last ones I could hang with people on, not to complicated to learn, and so much fun. Remembering playing SSF2 Turbo in arcades and it was the first one I got on SNES. Can’t wait and I’m sure I will see most of you that have PS4 online! HADOKEN!!!
SSF2 was on SNES not ST. Super Turbo came out on the; 3DO, PS2, Commodore Amiga, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, X-Box etc.
I remember going into my mall into my local arcade room backs in the mid 90's and saw SF2 and MK,the floors smell of soda pop and buttered popcorn and used chewing gum on the carpet with just 5$ in my pocket.I used that 5$ alone on SF2.My mind was blown since i was use to playing on my NES at the time and seeing the graphics this fucking good to me was mind blowing.I begged my mom to give me another 5 for MK1.But SF2 was so damn amazing i couldnt believe it.When i got my SNES on my birthday my cousin from his gift was SF2.

It's funny how the crowd show no reaction what so ever to The Original Street Fighter and SFII games but as soon as SFAlpha and SFIII pop out they wake up and woooing 😅 which goes to show the lack for interest amongs the community and some of it is CAPCOM's falt for re-releasing SFII to Death n pass over other titles like Ex and X-Men vs SF or CVS do you want me to continue ...?

I wish they would have released Alpha 3 Max (Zero 3 Upper) but still an amazing surprise. Let's just hope the netcode won't be as shitty as SFV's though.
Don't have problems with SF5 netcode. Its usually only PC players I run into that have bad netcode. Even Tekken 7 has shittier netcode as it hardly works as most have low to no bars and I have 5. Don't play wifi, use an ethernet cord man. You are probably the lagger.
I play on both PC and PS4. I play with an ethernet cable on PC and still it's 50/50. Sometimes everything works fine and sometimes the game pairs me with people with a bad connection. It gets annoying when this things happens in ranked mode.
Actually Street Fighter ALPHA ~MAX~ would be Street Fighter ZERO Double Upper. SFZ Upper included Feilong, T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Dark Ryu, playable Shin Gouki, as well as the boxer, Juli & Juni with their own portraits and storyline. Double Upper further added Maki, Eagle, Yun, & that lame make-believe character Ingrid. Considering that the 30th Anniversary Collection is not devrloped in-house in Japan by Capcom like PS2's SFZ Collection (SFA Anthology), rather is outsourced to a Western development studio Backbone/Digital Eclipse that did shoddy incomplete compilation releases such as Darkstalkers "Resurrection" (missing Darkstalkers 1, Hunter 2, & Savior 2) and Marvel vs Capcom "Origins (missing X-Men CotA, X-Men vs. SF, MSH vs SF)... The likelihood that the 30th Anniversary Collection would include anything other than vanilla versions of each game is slim to none.
I’m really upset that Street Fighter IV/USFIV isn’t on the Collection since SFIV Series is my favorite fighting game of all time, but hey that announcement was exciting and I can’t for it on May 2018

If you preorder it on PS4 they throw in USFIV for free. I know it's not quite the same thing but it's as close as it's going to get at being included.
How did they bring in the online play? Did they remake the 2D versions
They aren't remade, but online play can be added to an older ROM.

Question: unless the diehard fans wanna really go old school, why would anyone play old iterations of Street Fighter 2? Why play the old versions of 3? I can understand wanting to try Fighting Street to see where it all began, and Alpha's sequels just makes sense.

They are timeless classics; some people want to have a collection of them; there are younger fans who weren't even around to play 2 or 3 and were introduced to SF with IV etc. SF2 is the mother of all fighting games, and 3rd Strike is held in high regards as well. It's a collection that celebrates the series history.

For the casual person you are right, for the fighting game fan, this collection is a treasure. There are still tournaments based off the old games even.

Tournaments usually for Hyper Fighting and Super Turbo for II. But why exclude the others in a collection that gives you them all?

^Hell no, classic Super Turbo is in there play that instead. HD Remix wasn't out in the 90's which is why it won't be in this magnificent anniversary set at all. Why haven't people like yourself gotten this simple fact through your heads yet!
This celebrates Street Fighter's arcade games. HD bullsh&t wouldn't be included, yes a new generation of players might like HD Remix. But the overall majority like myself would definitely go for Super Turbo over it. ST finally reclaiming its crown back as the final SF2 game, with online play no less!
