Hi Peter I have been working with photography since 50 years ago and find your videos very exciting. Your passion for video has inspired me to start working more on video :)
Purchased the ZV-E1 a month ago, and I have to say it's an amazing camera for video. A great affordable alternative for beginners could be the Fuji X-S20.
I love this conversation! It's funny how, over time, my setup has become smaller and more straightforward. There was a time when I was trying to vlog with my Canon 80D and a gimbal (painful!). I switched to the Sony ZV-1 for run-and-gun vlogging-I love it! Then, I've been toying around with moto vlogging, so I got an Osmo Action 4. I've since used that for a drumming vlog and thought it was great! So, for me, simpler is better. I love that these companies are packing so much into small packages. Again, great video, as always! I appreciate you!
I'd also recommend the A7IV for longer format videos*, but when there's no need of slowmo or higher framerate than 30fps. not sure if the A7C II could handle the heat the same way as the A7IV which already is very close to overheating. *screen always flipped to the side great video Peter! 👌 regarding the Pocket3 which you don't really like, from what I can tell since I watch your videos (2+ years) you have veeeery stable hands when shooting, and that makes your handheld footage look that good, so the Pocket3 might be useful for some of the beginners which don't want to invest a lot and want to get stable footage 👍 cheers!
Great recommendations! Just one more thing. For the ZV-E1, the Sony 16-25mm 2.8 G lens is a solid alternative. Yes, less range than your 16-35mm GM lens, but close to half the price. And the quality is awesome.
Great video Peter. I've got all these cameras except the FX6.. I've been using the Osmo pocket 3 more lately for its ease of carrying and use over the zv-e1 when vlogging and talking to the camera outdoors. The only drawback is not being able to zoom and being stuck at 20mm. But I absolutely love to explore all the options and learn to adjust when to use the right camera for the type of recording needed.. like everything it depends on what you want to achieve. I use my zv-e1 for everything else specially the b-rolls 😄.. thanks for this video.. cheers
Thanks for this video. I use the ZV1-E with the SONY 16-35 F4 and sometimes with the Sony 11mm-F1.8 with dynaming stabilization to eliminate vignetting or the Sigma 16mm F1.4. I really like also to use the old Panasonic HC-VX980 camcorder with 30X zoom. It's my favorite camcorder and I can't give it up. Tack för hjälpen. Hälsningar från Bukarest.
I got the Sony DSC-HX60V a couple years ago however I've practiced how to use it properly since autumn of last year and I've grown over its capabilities. Should I upgrade my camera first or buy some decent audio and lighting equipment cuz I own the iPhone 13 rn. (I apologize for my bad English grammar because I'm from Germany)😅
till now i just have 1 camera, and it's GoPro hero 11 cause now almost my video is about longrange fpv 😅 but someday i want to learn talking head video like you Peter..
jag kör på dom två första +´dji mini 4 drönaren, när jag väl har råd så är planen zv-e1 + DJI RS, då min vibrationsskador i händerna gör det svårt att filma steady utan gimbal.
Nah, I don't think the Pocket 3 gets the praise it deserves. Perfectly fine 4K video even in dim light environments. Built in support for two Mic2 transmitters. Rememeber that nothing will piss off the audience as fast a poor audio. And I like the gimbal look mostly. I don't think the missing opportunity to shoot the next Bruckheimer action flick with a handheld shoulder mount rig should remove it from consideration. :-p It's small and packs a punch.
Hej Peter Thank you I love your Videos bit I'm more into Photography and have a question. I just got the Sony 7acii and I search a lens for Hybrid shooting. What should I get? (Budget: 1300€) ❤❤
@@PeterLindgren1 their noise performance is pretty similar? A7c2 is crispier so when benefit does zve1 have? Image quality wise? Is dynamic range better?
@@AhsanZafar ZVE1 noise performance is far better due to its superior dual native ISO for low light, dynamic range is better, rolling shutter is a problem on the a7cii but is negligible on the ZVE1 not to mention the 4k 60 fps is cropped 1.5x on a7cii but its uncropped on ZVE1 and you can shoot 4k 120fps which you cannot do on the a7cii. a7cii is a hybrid camera which imo favours 60% photos 40% video whereas ZVE1 is all about video

Fujifilm x-s20 is an outstanding hybrid. Love the form factor, 6k open gate too!
£1600 is affordable?

I'm jealous I want one too 😢

I think Fuji X-S20 is a great choice as well, and X-mount a nice lens system to be in.
I have the FX6 for 3 years now, but since 3 months I have the small ZVE1 too and I really love it 😍
Such a dope little camera!

Great vid Peter! I want to concentrate on vlogs more so got me interested in the zv1 I want a no fuss set up
Peter, Sony dropped Shutter Angle this morning for Fx3 and the Fx30!!!
I saw that, DOPE!
Fantastic man! Do you think better deals can be had with older sony cams?
Yes, definitely!

Nice video Peter! Now make us a video guide for the zv1 ! Maybe some good settings and some tips for using it
Will do!
@@PeterLindgren1 great 😃 can't wait
hmm awsome , i would love to get hands on that small sony Z
I'm surprised you didn't mention the ZV-E10. It shoots in 8bit, but you can change the lens. Plus, it's about the same price as the zv-1.

Just curious. But are you related to Astrid Lindgren? (Pippi Långstrump)
Nope!

Zv1 on the fpv!!

I think it's great, but there's sooooo many limitations if you just have one fixed lens. That's where the ZV1 excels!

why not buy a7c2 as compared to zv-e1?

Yeah everyone already has one so I didn’t include it 🤷🏻
I never do video, so none of those are for me !
I bought a Sony A7RV with 24-70mm f2.8 GM2 lens. Is that overkill for a beginner?
no doubt that’s overkill. But if you have the money, why not 🤷🏻
