Their older songs are the best but you have to understand, they've been a band 21 years now, alot of bands don't last that long so we're lucky to have the now greenday. They're still really good
Lol. Billie underwent many changes. Just like us. In his High School days he was the typical buffed up, tight shirt wearing guy. Then during the Dookie era, he was a little skinnier than usual. During the Nimrod and Warning eras he was chubby (but as cool as fuck), now Green Day's probably in their best state. But I do wish they'd lessen the promos and MTV exposures.
I remember when Green Day appeared with the first two CDs and everyone was trashing them because they were not "real punk". Old Green Day songs were all the time called "pop music". I'm pretty sure that in a few years this "new Green Day will be considered punk and "future GD" will be called pop. It's always like that :D But I totally respect your taste.
grew up with these lads on triple j, good to see their progression in to different styles ,genres as they grown and matured so should their music,, rebellious teens to, loving fathers/ husbands, and great show men that are still enjoyable to hear,,,,hope to hear more from them for many years,,
I know, me too! I hate when people say they only like Green Day at one point in their career when they've always been Fantastic and always will be. You and I are true loyal fans.
oh my god, i love them sooo much. this is incredible, realllyyy its so clear! i love how energetic they are, and really, just think.. look at the stage here and the stage theyre on now...
this is the green day I remember back in the early 90's! saw them at some warehouse in san diego in 92, one of the funnest punk bands ever, then came fifteen and crimpshrine, i miss those days
i also cant belive no ones cheering or jumping around or asking for autographs, this is fricken AMAZING!!! but more people seem to like what it is now Dx
Gotta love you tube for having all this old ass footage. I was finishing kindergarten when this was going on... and didn't discover this song until like 5 years later. Love it!
love how nobody around gives a single fuck. XD well, honestly if there was a band performing at my school who nobody think would become famous later, i'd probably walk by too... xD
@Soxicmusic That is who they WERE. They always change their music for each album. Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod etc don't sound alike. They've even changed their whole image and started a new band (The Network, foxboro hot tubs) cause they wanted to play different kind of music. If they kept making albums that sounded like Dookie, they wouldn't have lasted as long as they have.
oh and I'm seeing Green Day tommorrow night. I got pit tickets and it's my first time seeing them. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be playing guitar and i wouldn't love punk rock. They've been my favorite band for 15 years. And i owe my music education to them. They've always been a huge part of my life. Anyway, I'm making a sign so they play at the Library. Always my favorite Green Day song since i was a little girl
So one of my dads work people just happened to have a bunch of the old green day CD's sitting in her office. It turns out she was gonna give them away but she ended up giving them to me! I love you Ms... She might get mad if I say her name on a youtube comment... Well she rules GREEN DAY RULES!
what a great song, I miss this green day (and I know, I didn't know them back them) I actually discovered them with Basket Case so I'm just like the rest and blah blah blah, they rocked :)
This is the fucking shit. I will always, always love Green Day. At The Library, and every single song from 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours are perfect teen angst and loneliness/awkwardness wrapped into 19 perfect songs. Fuck yes.
yeah oke thats true but i think you shoeldn't really hate there old or new music, if you are a real fan. ofcourse you can like the new more then the old or the other way. but no there aren't really rules to music! so it's always ur own decision!
the people in the background have no idea how lucky they are to be that close
they could have touched them if they wanted
Alexander Kundert no one knows that they would become famous
not really they're still people just because their famous doesn't mean people are lucky to be near them
Tom Cruise No way man!! There is NO God but God and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) is his messenger
@@leifewald5117 Please don't take that shit seriously, we're not actually seriously saying he is God.
They still have this much energy at shows and they're all 42. That's awesome.
42 is really not old unless you let your body go to shit and became a couch potato (common among parents).
+Atacama Humanoid Totally right! Mick Jagger for exemple is over 70 and the guy is still rocking!
+crisoDIY Hey, I also did a version, but mine is on the ukulele :D it's also on my uploads if you guys want to check out
Mini Music dude i saw you in a hella lot of comments

Their older songs are the best but you have to understand, they've been a band 21 years now, alot of bands don't last that long so we're lucky to have the now greenday. They're still really good
33 years now
gotta love the 90s fashion
+TimTamTheTurtleMan What they were thinking? hahaha
Mini Music Better than most shit nowadays
@@AJ-ux7fo heck yeah!
Billie's smile doesn't change, like energy :D love them
This is also where Billie Joe and mike went to school. Until they dropped out of course. Would be so cool to go to this school.
How do you know?
Wouldn't it be TRE cool to go to this school? (get it? because tre in french means very)
Green Day is the greatest band ever! This song proves that fact. So much passion in their music.
The irony of the library rules
I love how they dance around in the beginning.
Billie Joe is wearing his guitar a little too high
A little to high what do you mean do you here yourself
@AVERY HUEBEL sorry I can't help it

Saunterblugget Hampterfuppinshire tre cool isn't even in the video or in the band at that time
Jacob Sanchez that was Al Sobrante, Tre joined in 91, Al was about 20/21.

I wonder if the people walking behind them knew that they would have a diamond album in four years?
I want old Green Day :(
+Laxy It's interesting to see how they changed
Yes but i really miss old Green Day :(
It's undeniable that they have changed a lot, but I still like them though. I also miss old Green Day, but new one is making a good job too :D
I dont agree, becouse this "new" Green Day is more pop than punk band :)
I remember when Green Day appeared with the first two CDs and everyone was trashing them because they were not "real punk".
Old Green Day songs were all the time called "pop music".
I'm pretty sure that in a few years this "new Green Day will be considered punk and "future GD" will be called pop. It's always like that :D

I'm about to cry
grew up with these lads on triple j, good to see their progression in to different styles ,genres as they grown and matured so should their music,, rebellious teens to, loving fathers/ husbands, and great show men that are still enjoyable to hear,,,,hope to hear more from them for many years,,
