      Janet Weninger Sometimes music is just music. I am a Christian, but taking it too far and claiming everything in this life is God's direct responsibility is a little far fetched. Things happen in this world that are of no relation to God and that is just fine. Don't make it seem like Christians have to be this radical because all you're really doing is tearing down people's opinions of Christians as blinded cult followers

    • @janetweninger8618
      @janetweninger8618 7 лет назад +4

      Marcus Munitions Thank you for your honesty. You are correct that some music is just music. I never claimed that everything in this life is God's direct responsibility. I said that God loves us, and He isn't a religion. He is in everything, because He created us. How do you separate aspects of your life from Him? My comment was to encourage anyone that is lost or confused about God, because too many people are broken and need to know that they are not alone. God promised to never leave us, and He told us to love others. I don't know how my comment was offensive to you, but I apologize if it bothers you. My intentions are never to tear down, but only to build others up with hope in God.

Was a dark time for me, I was let down and treated like shit by almost everyone around me... Was also a time when I wanted to give up on life. If it wasn't for one of my close life long mates calling when he did, I would've jumped...... Listening to this song makes me realize I did the right thing. I got rid of the toxic shit from my life and blossomed. I was eventually rewarded with 2 beautiful daughters, who I love more than life itself.... I am now 40 and I can honestly say I. LOVE. MY. My brother and I saw them June 22 1996 at Six Flags Great Adventure. After rain and lightning delayed the show, it started after 8pm. Half way through the show, a fight broke out in the mosh pit and the band stopped playing. Debating whether to walk off the stage as the fighting continued for awhile, John started playing 'Name'. The fighting stopped immediately and light right started to fall.

    Hey guys. I've been coping with a lot of sadness these past three days. Most of it surrounding death.
    Asking questions about if life after exists or if it doesn't and trying to come to terms with emotions about loved ones passing or even my own passing. If being forgotten even matters or not.
    I've stayed awake thinking about this all last night, crying my eyes out and trying to find meaning and the truth is just so simple. Enjoy the time you have been given, every moment is a gift and every emotion you feel makes you alive.
    Do what makes you happy guys and try and leave the world in a better place for the next person you love to cherish it.
    Just know that all that makes you special is what you perceive and never regret that. And thank you for existing at the same time.

    I feel this to the core of my soul... adopted and raised by an alcoholic abusive mother, no roots, no name. Big hopes and dreams were tossed along the way for the dream of just getting away and surviving. Lots of scars I'm never gonna lose.

    • @heatherconte5445
      @heatherconte5445 Год назад

      @Naturegeek2464 those scars dont define who you are. I'm sorry you went through what you did. I allowed my two children to be adopted because I felt it would be safer for them and they'd have a better life. Sadly I found out their adoptive father is in jail for abusing my kids. Broke my heart. I will live with the guilt forever because if I didnt allow them to be adopted maybe they wouldnt have gone thru such hell. It truly is scary how many adoptive parents abuse the kids they adopt. Mothers want to do what they feel is best for their kids and then adoptive parents go and do horrible things.

    I recall my mum listening to this in the car back in '95 (she had good taste in music, even liked AC/DC lol). I always liked this band, their music has been great for years. This song though, the sadness that radiates out of it is beautiful, it hits a nerve in the mind and can induce tears. It's musically and lyrically well done, something that is becoming increasingly rare as time goes by in the music industry.

    November of 1995. I was ten years old, very confused, and coming to grips with the onset of maturity. My parents had separated earlier that year. My father and I decided to come live in New Mexico to try to patch things up with my mom, who had moved there. When I first got there, this was the song that was playing on the radio. This will always and forever be the "New Mexico" song for me. So many good memories that will never leave me. The beautiful scenery, trips to Albuquerque, summers at the pool, bike riding, the sunsets,hiking in Mesa Verde. While my parents tried to mend their relationship and eventually failed at it by 98, I'll always have this song to remind me of a time where things felt right and NM really felt like a Land of Enchantment. I really miss my childhood :'(.

    I heard this song was written for the lead singer's sister who raised them because both parents passed away. I never truly listen to all the lyrics, but I do recall in the 90s listening to this song and always feeling very very sad. Being raised by a foster family myself, I absolutely understand the pain of growing up confused and wondering things about your parents that never gets answered. God bless the singer and the writers for this song and now that I understand the words it makes a lot more sense.

Eventually, I left for the army, she left for college, and things ended. This song truly brings back the good parts of our time together in my mind. It was special and I cherish the memories I have of that time in my life
