Looks AMAZING!! I wanted clear tail lights for my TA also and Im going to do a LED setup so Ill just get some LT1 tail lights and try to replicate what you did as well.
im going to use a set of tinted lens covers as the actual lens, ill also be removing the red reflector and installing a led light strip for better reverse lights
Would that also be the way to make clear lense when you removed black grid? It seems there arent any for sale and I figure maybe I have to use lt1 as clear lense.
Nice work. I made a custom set of LED tail lights for my 4th Gen last year and really wanted to do it with a clear lense. I may have to try this technique. Is the black grid glued down all over or is it just attached around the edges? Thanks for the video.
Mike B that sucks the lens busted. I was able to pry off most of it with like a knife, but i also grinded and cut some parts around the edge with a dremel. Thanks for watching!
it probably doesnt make a huge difference, i figure every little bit helps. plus i didnt want to see the black reflected inside the lens. i work at a sign shop and we always paint the inside of channel letters white for max briteness.
@@AdamWray any way you could hook me up? I could shoot you a paypal. I am looking to clean my 93 up a little and sell it. I think the best call is doing something similar to what you did, but I may leave the red lenses in mine. Please let me know....I'd really appreciate it.
Awesome work!

Great job man!
Looks awesome. That's my exact project too but haven't started it yet 😃
i love them!!! I love the clear euro spec luck, I did that with my headlights on my Avalon and blacked out the reflectors 🤫🤫

Where can I buy that honeycomb vinyl/stencil
I had it plotted at the sign shop where I work, any sign shop could do it if you give them a file. Could create any shape youd like!

The black is adhered to the clear but the taillights are so old most of them are starting to peel. It comes off but takes a bit of work.
Do you know if i could remove the red on the other lt1 tail lights? It doesnt have checkereds on it its just solid red.
I think the other ones are solid red lens and no can't be altered like so. Thanks for watching
@@AdamWray oh okay thanks for letting me know
The problem is the cheapest set of lt1 lights is 500 on ebay
i saw a thing on using tinted covers as a ¨lens¨ im going to try that method instead, you have to fasten it with a few screws and silicone
how did you separate the black grid from the clear lens, I tried it once on an old tail light and the lens busted. Thanks, great video btw

@@AdamWray did painting the inside of the lens housing white after you painted it black make a difference as far as reflectivity? Thanks

@@AdamWray I wonder if after the black, using that plate finish like you did for the housing.
@@mikeb6033 that could work too, id make sure the two types of paint are compatible first
What honeycomb paint mask did you use?
Created it on computer and plotted it on cutter, so its custom, I coulda done any shape I wanted
