Great band!!! I don't understand how they didn't get the success they deserved!!! I heard that Gregg is a multimillionaire, Punky made millions and is playing, Frank and Barry are teaching music and Frank sings with Punky a lot and Felix is in production with names like "Universal" and such. They are all extremely successful. And super nice. Thanks for posting this video. LOVE IT!!!! ❤❤❤👍🤟
Another WAY underated band. Just over 41,000 views, Well that sucks. I was 7 and my brother had this album. I remember getting the biggest kick out of turning the cover upside down and it still read ANGEL. That was the coolest. This band rocked. Thanks for the post.
The roadies would stack boxes with plexiglass fronts on them at the beginning of the show, while the announcer would talk. Then a light would appear inside the box & the guy would be inside. Thought that was really cool! Nice magic trick to start the show off!
Crazy, right ? Casablanca did a concert film of them, but Angel couldn't get enough traction to justify promotional money so they shelved the project. It was called Angel at Midnight.
They were fantastic with the utmost show!! As they came up from the floor and miraculously burst out!! Oh and then the talking guy. And then Greg Guiffia on the organ with pipes!!!! Are kidding!!?? BLEW KISS AWAY
i saw these guys in syracuse N.Y. in 76 i was leaning against the stage. it was angel then rush then blue oyster cult. what a concert.i always thaught they were under rated. i have all there albums & have put them on C.D.
people say these guys should've exploded in the 80s me personally this is pure 70s vibe and i'm sure they did awesome in the time, especially with the youth.
ww you really do have everything on youtube i haven't been able til now to hear these guys since way back when .thank you for uploading this little ditty.
On this day in 1978 {March 26th} "Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" by Angel entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #89; five weeks later on April 30th, 1978 it would peak at #44 {for 2 weeks} and spent 8 weeks on the Top 100... Twelve years earlier on January 30th, 1966 the Young Rascals peaked at #52 with the original version of the song... Angel had one other Top 100 record, "That Magic Touch", it reached #77 in 1977 and stayed on the chart for 6 weeks...
so classic...seems like the the first glam rock stint from 1970..gotta love i have some tracks ..but i had buddy that has on reel to reel tell thats not old lolololol
Angel still have not been surpassed or even possibly equaled. They had a huge impact on my life when I was just 13 years old and I actually found them far scarier than Kiss before they went more power pop like this. This is a really brilliant cover of a great song by The Young Rascals. Angel were always hugely professional and although I was born too late to see them live or experience them firsthand (I was 13 in 1989) I have been an avid follower of all their music for a very long duration. I wish I could find some band out there who have their magic, but I don't think one exists!!! Angel won't be surpassed I'm pretty sure. Long live the 1960s and 1970s!!! The 80s were really good some of it too.
i never was a fan of "Angel" however, a friend of mine way back when convinced me one day to buy their live album "live without a net" & it wasn't bad.. i never owned any of their studio albums.. i guess for a glam rock band they weren't too bad... at the time they came around there was so much competition & so many really good bands that no one really paid any mind to them...
This cover and Under Suspicion come across well. But the early Ramones from this era particularly with their first album and "Sheena" hold up better over time. Just more attitude and energy
Where the hell did you find this video? Do you have Don't leave me lonely? Had the album in 1980, age 8, loved the logo, drew it all the time. Older cousin was a drummer in the long haired rock and roll band heyday.Remind me of Sweet
These guys were a successful REGIONAL act, they got ZERO exposure in the midwest, lucky for them they were from the east coast. I wont say they sucked, but damn if they dont have the poses down pat. hahahahaha When I did hear of and heard them, all I thought was...theyre a Kiss copy dressed in white. Ive appreciated a lot of Greg's later work, cant say anything about the rest of em.
well lets not get carried away now, they were definitely one of glam rocks more respected bands but to say rock wouldn't be what it is if not for angel is an exaggerated comment... they were never in a league with any of the more popular bands of the 70's - especially alice cooper... if you wanna talk about glam or shock rock..
great hook - can see why gene simmons had them signed -beats the hell out of the rascals - no disrespect intended towards the rascals ps guitars sound like alice cooper band (michael bruce)
+Steve Mostek No disrespect to Angel, but the Rascals version is much sexier sounding. Love both renditions tho. Love the crunchy guitars on this version and the great all-around vocals. Rock on bro \m/
keyboard player greg guiffria now part-owner/vip several casino const. jobs in gulf port/las vegas, (way to go greg!) back stage party at superjam, busch stadium 1978 was a concert moment at its finest
I have been strangely addicted to Angel vids on RUclips..? I didn’t really like them when I was young (I’m in my early 50s) So I’m not sure why?lol The hair, the posing, the mediocre music. Some one help I need help! 🤷🏻♂️
sorry Mike. this band was started as an Opening band for Kiss..Angel wore white.. Kiss comes out in Black... found by Gene Simmons.. Tower is one of the greatest anthems... many offshoots from this band..
micktheMaag . According to Punky on Eddie Trunk podcast , they were suppose to open for kiss but Gene Simmons nixed idea believing they were too good to be Kiss opening act.
I know they opened for kiss / they opened and headlined many shows , but they were not a made up band just to open for KISS . Pretty idiotic statement obviously from someone with no clue . Michael , that's common knowledge to the average Angel Fan . I own over 3000 pictures of angel . I'm sure there's nothing you can tell me I don't already know .
One of the most underrated bands of the era. They could play
I agree 100% ...
Great band!!! I don't understand how they didn't get the success they deserved!!! I love the way Punky Pouts his lips for me❤️
Another WAY underated band. Just over 41,000 views, Well that sucks. I was 7 and my brother had this album. I remember getting the biggest kick out of turning the cover upside down and it still read ANGEL. That was the coolest. This band rocked. Thanks for the post.
Frank and Punky tour. They are awesome!
Angel Live=Fun
These guys would have been huge in the MTV era
I listened to them in the late 70's and early 80's. Good music. They were pretty boys.
The roadies would stack boxes with plexiglass fronts on them at the beginning of the show, while the announcer would talk. Then a light would appear inside the box & the guy would be inside. Thought that was really cool! Nice magic trick to start the show off!
All these years have passed, and yet NOBODY has any actual live footage of this band?!? Not even Super 8? Blows my mind.
Crazy, right ? Casablanca did a concert film of them, but Angel couldn't get enough traction to justify promotional money so they shelved the project. It was called Angel at Midnight.
What about their performance in "Foxes"? Have you ever seen that? www.imdb.com/title/tt0080756/
I have seen some ! A guy in Fresno took 8mm and the audio and put it up on you-tube ! Pretty cool !
They were fantastic with the utmost show!! As they came up from the floor and miraculously burst out!! Oh and then the talking guy. And then Greg Guiffia on the organ with pipes!!!! Are kidding!!?? BLEW KISS AWAY

Great drummer. Frank is an underrated vocalist.

If it wasn't for Zappa I would never have heard of these guys. Frank did a fellow Frank a big favor. One of the best vocalists in hard rock.
I remember buying On Earth As It Is In Heaven when i was young. Got White Hot right after. Damn! Over 30 years?
Now it's over 40 years!
Saw them in springfield Il will never forget it.

We saw them with The Godz in Mpls, probably the same tour - I agree it was awesome!
Time for an Angel reunion.
Thanks!

It’s interesting to hear the different covers of this song.

i never was a fan of "Angel" however, a friend of mine way back when convinced me one day to buy their live album "live without a net" & it wasn't bad.. i never owned any of their studio albums.. i guess for a glam rock band they weren't too bad... at the time they came around there was so much competition & so many really good bands that no one really paid any mind to them...

I just talked and got a pic with Frank Dimino Saturday night.

Joe Strummer.
So much silly posturing and pouting
Their album covers cost them stardom. I mean, wtaf

Ha Ha ... Not Even Close ...
WOW!! How bad is this cover of a great Rascals song?
I have been strangely addicted to Angel vids on RUclips..? I didn’t really like them when I was young (I’m in my early 50s) So I’m not sure why?lol The hair, the posing, the mediocre music. Some one help I need help! 🤷🏻♂️
Everyone slows down to look at a car wreck.
Such crap.
A garage band at best and a bad one at that!!!
sorry Mike. this band was started as an Opening band for Kiss..Angel wore white.. Kiss comes out in Black... found by Gene Simmons.. Tower is one of the greatest anthems... many offshoots from this band..

micktheMaag No they weren't .
John Santos ok guys.. i saw them open for Kiss in Cleveland Winter of 1976... Angel dressed in White.. and Kiss... well we all know how they dress..
