Love that she is an architect with hands-on-skills! That level of Cross-Training makes a huge difference in the execution . . . Stellar Configuration! That dining table is Outstanding!! The only thing ii would've changed is that tiny window over the kitchen counter, would've made it the full length and height

Smart, gorgeous home. I love its location and design; ideal to get away and relax in nature. I wonder how far from the Hudson river itself they are, it would be even more amazing if the water was nearby.

You don't need to have millions to do this. You need ambition and sitting on youtube leaving negative comments is a sure way not to succeed in anything ever.
I wonder how the wood exterior will hold up. It's beautiful but my biggest fear.
Its a slight char to give it color and then a clear stain or waterproofer lacquer applied. It will last longer than vinyl if taken care of, i.e. fresh coat of waterproof every 3-5 years.

It's a normal sized modern looking weekend retreat. In Scandinavia, for example, there are thousands of similar second home buildings this size and style, 300-500K USD.
Because the world is full of whiners and mediocritans too afraid to get out of their shell and take life on for what it is. You average IT manager at your typical suburban office space who plays passive aggressive games in cubicle hell comes to mind.

I love the general look of this house. But something I noticed is that none of the windows appear to open. I would've used a larger window over the kitchen sink. Overall though, I have to say this is a style I really like. I see the charring of wallboard has become more appreciated and utilised in recent years and it looks and functions well. I would've liked to have seen more of the house, rather than these quick bites of the place.

we love mother nature, which is why we cleared half an acre of trees, to put a house with high cooling and heating costs and then to give the ultimate middle finger to mother nature, we clad the outside in wood.
oh and the husband loves to drive a gas guzzler in the middle of the forest. you know, because we enjoy mother nature.

I live in the Hudson Valley, and the NYC people are flocking up here in droves, buying up EVERYTHING, and driving the prices sky-high. Pretty soon the natives here will be priced out completely. It’s a damned shame.

I love the fact that this very skilled and intelligent woman did as much of this herself but also allowed for skilled professionals to assist her in accomplishing this dream. So often, type A, hyper successful people don’t allow for collaborative efforts to achieve higher ends than one can achieve on their own.
