Such a beautiful home out of shipping container. The best part is that they gave a full one of the v smart tutorial how to build it. Hats off for creating such a beautiful home n a beautiful garden in such a beautiful natural surrounding
The relentless enthusiasm from everyone as well as that music is hiding something truly dark and horrifying. We all know this in our hearts. Stay safe, guys. Stay safe.
I have put alot of though into this. I would use welded angle iron frames to reinforce the door and window openings and set the windows in flush with the wall like in a normal house. I would use metal studs for framing, using the narrow studs to furr the exterior walls. Insulation would be sprayed on urethane foam which provides insulation and vapour barrier in one. This can also be applied to the roof and coated for added insulation and roofing in one, which would be my prefernce for joining multiple units. The exterior could also be clad in ridgid styrofoam insulation and then sided over with choice of exterior finish.Or because these are made from Corten Steel they could be sand blasted and left to rust for a natural almost rustic look with no worry of the shell rusting away. I would sand and stain the floors and use an epoxy based sealant. This way any possible contamination would be sealed , and the Teak plywood is naturally beautiful. The rest of the construction would be standard practices. One would have to keep in mind local buildings codes, most juristictions would require an engineer because of the non typical construction type. Also cutting open large sections or stacking and cantilevering them would require substantial reinforcement. These may not be a cheap building type for everyone, but for someone with metal working skills, construction knowledge and access to heavy equipement and tools it would be reasonable. 2 major advntages are that you are starting with a weather tight enclosure, and they are modular and easily moved meaning they could be constructed offsite which has substantial savings for cabins/ homes in remote areas.
If you think about durability and insulation, pvc window should be used. Double PvC windows and double glazing are also recommended. Install the mosquito net in the outer window. Low cost aluminium window Use.

This is the best Vid on container homes I have seen on RUclips. This is very well thought out from the ceiling to the wall construction. I love this concept for low cost college student housing. I am pumped. Do more of these vids. Please with more detail. Thanks.
This is absolutely incredible. I've always wanted to build a shipping container house and this is really inspiring. The pop-out and angled windows are ideas I might have to 'borrow'. Great work on the outside too. I love the ivy but I prefer when shipping containers houses are left to look like shipping containers. That wouldn't be appropriate here though. I think Adam might be the smiliest man on Earth.
+Matthew Paul McCrory It's very nice though i would rather two containers to feel comfortable. The view to river is stunning and it can recompense the narrowness of the "house". I hope he can swim in this river.
Solar Hellas My dream would be to have two containers as the ground floor (kitchen, dining and living areas) with a third stacked on top (for bedroom(s) and bathroom). I'd then, ideally, use the remaining space on the roof of the ground floor as a balcony area. I want a shipping container house as a permanent home though, as an alternative to standard construction techniques.
+Matthew Paul McCrory you can buy a "best barns shed" from home depot for 10k. It is the size of 4 shipping containers. 16x32 and 16ft high and its 2 stories so just over 1000sqft home depot and lowes have them online. Its about 8-15k to finish the inside into a home. Me and my wife are in the process of doing this.
+Solar Hellas I have the same idea of two 40 ft shipping containers side by side for more width, I really wanted 52 ft containers but they are hard to find and if more expensive because they are hard to find
TheCodFather thanks for the heads up but I'm in the UK and we don't have Home Depot or Lowes here. Good luck with your project! I want to build a shipping container home because I'm interested in re-using materials and sustainability, moreso than cost factors. It's great that it's cheaper than a conventional build but I'm not just looking for the largest square footage for the smallest price. I like the idea of the challenge of turning a big metal box into something more than just a big metal box. I'd love to build by the water too and I think there's something funny about using shipping containers in that context. It's a massive bonus that I love the stark, industrial look of the containers.
+Lionheart I'm not sure but ,if anyone else is searching for build container house book try Alkarno Container Alchemist (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin got great success with it.
+Propertyexit They have a furred out ceiling, and walls, the plumbing and electrical can be handled in a standard manner. Or are you thinking the place is off grid?
+deezynar I didnt see them fur our the ceiling and walls. They showed how the laid the 2x4 flat to save space which i get, and the next frame you see is them putting up the drywall, no wiring, no plumbing. I can figure out how they may have done the electrical, but still not that plumbing!!!!
+Propertyexit The ceiling is well below the roof deck, so wiring is easily routed there, and you can see can lights installed in the ceiling. The sheet rock is on 1x4 battens screwed flat to the wall, so it's a tight fit behind it, but enough for wiring. The corrugations in the container's skin provide enough room for receptacle boxes, but I only saw one mounted in an exterior wall, it was at the left end of the kitchen counter. The switches for the lights seem to be in the frame wall at the bathroom. The kitchen counter does not have near enough receptacles to meet code in the US. That's probably because they ran the countertop right into the window and didn't have a back splash. The plumbing fixtures are a zero water toilet that pipes out through the floor. They have a lav & shower in the bath, and there's a kitchen sink and D/W. The supply piping is either routed in the ceiling space, or below the floor, and is led to each fixture in a corrugation in the wall. If the supply is routed above the ceiling, they'd have to get it over to the kitchen sink below the cabinets, since the window is right there. The sewer drains, after going thru their traps, probably go straight down thru the floor, and never enter the wall. I would connect them all together into one 3" pipe and run it to the septic system. The each sewer vent probably goes up in a corrugation in the wall, and then elbows into the space above the ceiling and penetrates up thru the roof as VTRs. The window above the kitchen sink would require a different method, I would specify an air admittance valve under the counter.

It’s my dream to build my own house with shipping containers. I would actually build a huge basement with concrete which will include theater, play room, and storage. Then above, I would actually use 2 containers for more space with lots of huge windows for living and kitchen. Then I would also include a container above but set up as a cross. It would include master bed, bathroom and office. Above that, I would have a terrasse. I’ve even started to learn sketchup and will learn unreal to render everything to perfection. I don’t now why but it brings me so much joy just thinking about it.
A couple things if you live in the US not Australia. You want to be facing south for passive solar heat. Australian to US dollar is .70; so their $45,000 = $30,000 USD. I'm planning to build my container home in 6 months in southern Arizona.
The problem is most places do not allow shipping container homes, because of zoning / other restrictions. Because its a mobile home. if you can get land that allows it, then its great
Yes so true I first wanted to buy an airstream but I didn't want to live in a mobile home place, so now I'm trying to buy a piece of land to build a home with these storage bins, but the city is telling me regarding the zone some of them will let you and some will not it sucks.
@@lizramos6476 it's different state by state and counties within those states, look around the US unless you plan on staying there or have a desired destination otherwise shop around look into Canada as well.
You can get a used 40X40 shipping container for $2400.00 I bought property years ago and paid it off I'm ready to do something like this now. I want to get 4 and have them welded together.
wtf are people talking about accents for, I am so jealous what a beautiful piece of land all i want to do now is find an affordable chunk so i can do the same thing lol but i can dream great video
I just moved to Hawaii and this is my plan, only being in Hawaii the weather never gets bad, I'm going to have my kitchen outside and dinning area on the deck. We as a society in Hawaii spend so much time outside anyway why take up floor space for a kitchen inside when your outside 95% of the time anyway. I'm also not going to have a full size oven, 2 years ago I bought a 9 function air fryer/oven and haven't used my full size oven since. Between my air fryer, microwave, Crock Pot and Pressure cooker I don't need a full size oven, and they can all 4 be stored away on a open shelf when not being used. It's just me and my gf at home so were not cooking big meals. I'm going to have a BBQ too but it's going to be in a sperate area than the kitchen.
They not British, the Australian.... The Australian accent is not the most glamorous maybe that explain the intolerance hence dislike particularly with us Americans.
The land would had cost a fortune ....but you can build brand new houses down here for around $150k upwards which I would consider far better than this
i love it , its like divided as i designed mine except bath location and upper kitchen cabinets i like shelving and prefer a large window in front of sink
Nice design. I have a 40' on my property and now I know what to do with it. Only thing I might change is add a 2nd 40' for width and maybe a 20' to increase and create a master suite. Are there any tips for laying the footings?
a 40 footer is bigger than most people think, it's 320 square feet when built out, insulated and dry walled. I'm planning on doing one but I live in Hawaii and i'm putting my kitchen and dinning area outside on the deck because we as a society in Hawaii spend 90%, or more honestly, of our time outside. I also came up with some space saving ideas, I'm not going to have a full size oven, 2 years ago I bought a 9 function countertop air fryer/oven and haven't used my full size oven more than a couple times since, General rule of pairing down/living tiny, if you don't use it more than once or twice in a 6 month period you don't need it. I have my air fryer/oven, Microwave, pressure cooker and crock pot, there's literally nothing I can't cook. While it's true I'm never going to cook a full sized Thanksgiving turkey, I won't ever cook one anyway, It's just me and my Gf and there are big enough to cook a Turkey Breast, the green bean casserole I'll cook in the crock pot, The deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy I can make in the Microwave and they can all be stored away on a open shelf out of the way when they aren't being used.
Theo bit and peaces over the last 5 years. I started living in it soon as the shipping container was sat on the ground for $3500. Then selvaged stuff as it turned up.
Josh_Randall85 my comment was about how you actually don’t have to build your home to impress ppl. Can be basic, simple and rustic and a lot of Australia’s do it. Its unimpressive what i done. I didn’t do it to impress anyone, i did it to have a home somewhere to live and survive.
Can I just say "aaah the serenity" gorgeous shipping container home and stunning views too...would love you to go back after 3 years and check it out again

@@oliviajane269 That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like *Mr Tony Alin berker* my coach, you may have come across him on interviews relating to bitcoin. He trades, manage trading account and offer mentorship program for clients who wish to become professional investors.
@@izagdlife You allow people to trade for you ? that's interesting, I would love to learn, how safe is it ?
@Maria Rodriguez Well this not my first time of seeing this name on social platform. A CNBC news host spoke highly of this man and his trading strategies. Do you know him ? if yes , did you invest with him ?
One of the simplest and best shipping containers I've ever seen
The view is worth every penny...😉
This house is MINE.❤❤
Minimalistic, simple and beautiful💕
I wanna build one so bad! My family would love this!! Our pockets would love this. We would be able to save up so much money for our children. >.

+Alex Jones Hello I like your video, specially the ideas about shipping container home build
. Another product I also found helpful for container home design plans
is Corbandy Container Crusher -look for it on google if want.
i love it , if you make it a little wide you could tern your bed position and have big window and you will have water view from your bed. Jest idea. thank you for sharing . next time share the plumbing and electrical .
just beautiful! i cannot stop replaying it
I love how excited they get when they finish something and hi-five each other. Ha ha!
D'ya like it, Ritchie??? - LOVE IT !!! After every step...so cute.
Beautiful home mate.
The only thing that is missing is Solar Power lol.

So beautiful, so inspiring. I can't wait till October when i begin my own container home. Keep up the amazing work. Great job.
And how? can you show your container?
Use closed cell spray foam insulation. What they did is a huge error.
Simply superb the way this was built with a panoramic view of the entire lake and the hills. Wow! Best Wishes from Darjeeling, India 👍👏👏👏
BRILLIANT GUYS!!! It looks amazing & what I love is that u can always just add on if you need to.

This was awesome to watch. These guys were happy lads!
"Remember, fight the urge to look at someone welding. It could blind you."
*zooms in on the welding*
KartGaming zooms in on one negative looking hard for it in a sea of hopeful happy positive cooperation; the welder has been welding since age 14. those of you who have not should hire someone or get a mask, he's doing it unsafely without a mask but he's not welding with flame, he's sawing with a saw you can buy on Amazon or at Home Depot.
+KartGaming - Let's Plays & Gameplay Videos
Hi I love your video, particularly your ideas in the second half for shipping containers homes for sale. Something I also found useful for where to buy shipping containers was Skyarza Container Home Star - it should be on google if you need it
+KartGaming - Let's Plays & Gameplay Videos I loved this video. However If somebody wants to design a home from a shipping container I recommend Renkarter Container Report. A friend talk me about this page. They are the best in design of container home. I suggest search on google - shipping container builders -

LOL
+amir sohail More Skyarza SPAM. Fuck off.
Thank you for showing the neat process in making this container a home.
I also think this is a good idea for a holiday home on a campsite
Nice video but i was a bit confused... Did they have different names or was it all Mate?
+Crispy Logi All Aussies answer to mate.
Great way to not have to remember names. And most people "get" that mate/ old mate means anyone and no one in particular.
I knew it ;) It was just me trying to make a joke, which sucked :P But hey thanks anyways, some people might not know it Lana Carmichael
+Crispy Logi hahahahah jokes on me then, you got me!! 😂😂😂😂

My favorite thing is KITTY, the Boston Fern and the Bogenvila...Simply Awesome 👏🏽 as the Nature Beauty of the site being right next to the Lake. Great job! 👍🏽👊🏽😻
This idea is golden
Wow. Never thought something like this was possible. I'm sold 100% .love it!😁
Furiously taking notes here! Awesome video.
That's the spirit, onwards to success!
Need to do the same thing
Relax please
A couple things if you live in the US not Australia. You want to be facing south for passive solar heat. Australian to US dollar is .70; so their $45,000 = $30,000 USD. I'm planning to build my container home in 6 months in southern Arizona.
@@ritaheang1547 .
I think im in love with the builder xD
I like the idea of a using a shipping container. I would paint it so it's not all white. A little color is beautiful.
You are right Cindy
I'd quite happily live in the tent on that land. Beautiful.
This is absolutely beautiful. Great job guys
Almost anything looks stunning on million dollar land😂 But, yes, this turned out dreamy. Beautiful job!
Im am investment broker and I've seen a lot of beatiful land with amazing landscape being lived on like trash.
classemag lucky we know your profession now. Was about to ask. 🙄😂
This tiny house is Amazingly beautiful.. I luv it.
Great looking place for a reasonable price and if you get sick of the location, sell the land and take it to a new block with a view.Great concept.
That's what I'm talkin about you winning I'm going to do the same thing man
You can get a used 40X40 shipping container for $2400.00 I bought property years ago and paid it off I'm ready to do something like this now. I want to get 4 and have them welded together.
+Eileen LeValley 40x40??? Do you mean 40x8? Janice
+Eileen LeValley Were they rusty on the inside?
+jksatte ...... Sorry yes they were 40x8.....
+Nyx & Hemera ....... No rust, a few low outside small dents.
Legend Length
I wonder if that would be better than the sheds some get and convert to homes? Janice
The land cost more than the home. Love the design.
This is most inspirational. I reckon that container homes are the way to go. Thanks ever so much for posting.
Gorgeous home glorious surrounding. Beautiful share.
Thnk you
wtf are people talking about accents for, I am so jealous what a beautiful piece of land all i want to do now is find an affordable chunk so i can do the same thing lol but i can dream great video

How does the running water and electricity actually get to the home?
Probably has water tanks & mains power somewhere else on the property.
Ah right that makes sense cheers
I saw an IBC water container round the back of the house on one of the final shots.
that's what I want to know...
Fit freak hahaha epic reply😂
kicks off with a an old fave cold chisel tune, im watching
I'm going to have a BBQ too but it's going to be in a sperate area than the kitchen.
who are the idiots who disliked this...wow. AWESOME WORK BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol. I asked the same thing.
having not watched much british television shows I can imagine other people disliking it. I didn't mind it doe
It agree
They not British, the Australian.... The Australian accent is not the most glamorous maybe that explain the intolerance hence dislike particularly with us Americans.
***** Quite honestly, I couldn't tell the differences between Australian and New Zealand accent... I will research them.
So simple and clean. I love it!
People need to understand over here in Australia $50,000 is not a lot of money, and houses are very expensive. Especially compared to America
The land would had cost a fortune ....but you can build brand new houses down here for around $150k upwards which I would consider far better than this
i love it , its like divided as i designed mine except bath location and upper kitchen cabinets i like shelving and prefer a large window in front of sink
Magnifique réalisation avec un savoir faire d'excellence. Bravo messieurs.
9:09 "i've connected the studs directly to the shipping container" DOH!
Absolutely brilliant!!👊👊👍
Would like to see storage for bedroom. Clothes, shoes, etc...
Same for other areas.

Love it …that what we wanted to build at the backyard of our daughter . Love the floor plan love the balcony love everything ❤️10 stars
My best friend, Enjoyed watching this video my friend Really awesome views Thank you Stay connected
I built mine for 6k with selvaged second hand repurposed materials and didn’t need to impress anyone on television.
When?
Good on you?
Theo bit and peaces over the last 5 years. I started living in it soon as the shipping container was sat on the ground for $3500. Then selvaged stuff as it turned up.
Just had to impress them on the internet instead, ay.
I was thinking of building a workshop in my backyard. Now, I’m considering buying a shipping container and converter if it into my workshop.
Lovin this!... imagine that view every morning 😍
It’s amazing the space in the container when the hose is constructed. Wow.
That's awesome! Now that's what I was thinking price wise for a shipping container home.
That location is freaking mint too!
A second container would make a great space.
This is Australia, so NORTH is equal to South in the US, Canada, and Europe.
6:17 "how good is thyaaaaawwwwwgh"
Brilliant. Love the windows and the space saving method for the insulation
Can I just say "aaah the serenity" gorgeous shipping container home and stunning views too...would love you to go back after 3 years and check it out again
