I have to say, when Andy is with them they have a different energy when they play live, I miss Andy.
+arielvbe3624 First time I saw DD was in 87 with Bowie, they were missing both Andy and Roger at the time. They were still fun, but not the same. Saw them during this tour in Portland Oregon March of 05 with the full line up and it was fantastic. I need to get my butt in gear and get to another show soon!
+arielvbe3624 : All I can say is that DD sounds great, but for all of us DD fans we need Andy Taylor back, it just simply not the same without him, we got to know them as a band and they all play a key piece of their unique sounds, so we could be saying the same for any member of the band... Amen

I miss Andy! Their version of "Wild Boys" in this show is my favorite thus far. John was feelin' it. Simon is always on point. Simply outstanding.
This reminds me why I was a Durannie back before Rio dropped in the US. Dad-imported vinyl ftw. :) The Astronaut tour brought back the old feeling, took my big sis and my daughter to Jones Beach and we all had a blast! I miss Andy Taylor so much! They're just not the same band without him.
man I miss Andy. people forget that Duran Duran used to be a rock band at one point. This concert really shows the edge they had. I don't blame Andy for walking once the ridiculous collaborations started happening. they didn't need to resort to that.

Andy shouldn’t have walked out .. without the desire of Simon and Nick ... DD would be dead ... I enjoy Andy but he is a fairweather musician !
Fact is, Andy was right and history shows it: he told them Duran didn't need Timbaland or Timberlake, and Simon and Nick wanted it no matter what. John and Roger later revealed they didn't even play on some RCM tracks because Timbaland didn't know what to do with real musicians.
But Andy was tired of the grind too. He's 100 percent a family man, and when his dad died while the band was touring, I think that just took it out of him.

Andy’s guitar makes these songs totally different live. Really miss him…looking forward to his new album later this year!
It was an amazing concert!!! For it being the first time that they perform the song 'Instant Karma', they did justice to it. And Simon didn't mess up at all....John Lennon would of been proud😊!!!!

viewing this again for my 8th time in 6 days and still cant get enough, Cant wait for their new album this year after hearing that they are at last working with georgio moroder. Duran were made for Moroder. Should be and will be amazing.

,mi hermana que estaba alli me llamo y me dijo,venite el show no empezo todavia,yo trabajaba en la Boca,,puede entrar regalando un boucher todo incluido del resto donde trabajaba a unos gendarmes,me hicieron pasar,no lo podia creer,me embarre pero valio la pena,muy buen show entre la niebla,me quede sin voz,un gran recuerdo,ese dia se llovio todo,ja cuando fui a Velez en el 93 tambien llovio,ahora espero verlos en el LOLLA,,vivo a unas cuadras de alli,los DURANES en SAN ISIDRO
ja ja ja fue el mejor recital que vi en mi vida y empezo a las 2 de la mañana, fue algo unico para mi fanatico de DD.

EL AGUANTE DEL PUBLICO ARGENTINO ERAN LAS 2 DE LA MADRUGADA CUANDO TENIAN QUE TOCAR A LAS 22.00 HS, FUE UN RECITAL ESPECTACULAR QUIERO ENCONTRA CON EL MISMO SONIDO EL DE GEBA QUE ES MUY BUEN RECITAL TAMBIEN ,
Andy T. may have issues in his personal life but DD is a different act when he's on stage... Harder edge, unique-sound... It's almost as though the friction he causes with his mates in the band causes them to step up their performance. Don't misunderstand me; DD, like all bands works through change quite well. In fact some of their best work can be found on "Pop Trash" with Simon, Nick and Warren C. Suppose I simply wish Andy T. was able to mind his manners and could have stepped it up for a few more albums and tours...
I agree, Duran Duran definitely up their game when he's on board.
His playing is harder and edgy-er. The new guy Dom, bless him, is not even at the races in comparism

I agree with all the above...DD isn't DD without Andy Taylor....the new guy Dom, just awful...now, with that being said, i am sure Andy can be, and is to some extent, an egotistical arse, but hey, most great guitarists are to some extent...it's too bad people's egos can kill great bands...i just wish people like Andy and Nick would realize that they are better off with each other than without....

Andy contributed A LOT to the success of DD in the begining. His guitar work was so raw and edgy, he experimented a lot with different effects too. Dom Brown just sucks....sorry but he's boring and Warren is rad but not in DD. He's great in Zappa and MP. DD without all of the original 5 isn't the same and doesn't sound the same. Andy's backing vox, his on stage energy and his signature sound completes the band....

Bueno....la formación original de DD no tenía a Simon y Andy, pero es la formación más exitosa de DD, incluso estaba Andy Hamilton que participó en lo 80 en discos y en la gira Arena haciendo los solos y acompañamientos con el saxo.
Que bueno que estuvo!!! recuerdo que llegue la tapa del disco del vinilo Big Thing y despues de tantos saltos no se donde habra terminado!!! Lo mejor de todo fue el día anterior al recital cuando junto con mi hermano me lo cruce a John Taylor charlando como cualquier hijo de vecino por puerto madero... sin que nadie le pidiera autografos ni nada... tranqui... disfrutando la costanera.... Como me arrepiento de no haberle pedido un autografo!!!!! o haberme sacado una foto con el motorola v3 que tenia en ese momento......... snif snif snif

Fantastic - thanks for uploading this gem of a performance. The fact the band came out at 2AM after a rain long delay and still managed to hit the notes for a 2 hour show - and a killer one at that - shows how talented they really are as musicians. This is a Duran show I can get into - so please Andy Taylor - can you make it back for a 3rd??? time?

Agree with comments that the sound is much better with Andy Taylor, but it's obvious in this show they ain't getting on too well especially during A View to A Kill
I feel Andy is going even a bit more "hard rockish" than usual, you can see Simon trying to calm him down at the beginning of Planet Earth. Iguess he didn't care anymore at this moment, he was close to leave again...

todavia lo recuerdo, era la segunda fecha del persona fest, y habia llovido la noche anterior y parte de la mañana. llego al campo (eran tres escenarios y para cuando duran duran tocaba, se mezclaba con la banda del segundo escenario) todo embarrado, y se demoro todo el horario, no se si babasonicos subio como las once de la noche...
Babasónicos toco muy bien, pero todos esperabamos a los DD. Y antes de Babasónicos, toco Macy Gray que no terminaba más!
no era macy gray, ella toco el dia anterior, era erikah badu, que alargaba los temas, los interrumpia...un desastre jaajaja, babasonicos estuvo barbaro, pero si, todos esperabamos a los fab five, afortunados fuimos de ver a a formacion clasica, yo estaba del lado de andy..

Thank you for submitting this video; however, it was unwatchable for me -- way too much moving of the camera (heads cut off, jumping quickly from one Duranie to the other, etc. Had to just listen to the music, rather than watch it.
