To solve all this is to create more superteams. Put Wall on the Pelicans. Add Chris Paul to the Spurs. Or Gordon Hayward on Celtics. PG on Bucks.

    • @sadjetsfan1584
      @sadjetsfan1584 7 лет назад

Silent Noise pretty much, but with different guys tied to different contracts and therefore being unable to leave and join up all at once, it's not a terribly easy process. Plus re-signing with your current team always nets you a lot more $$$, so it's highly unlikely these guys would sacrifice that money to try and compete for rings. As a fan, though, I want to see more competition. No one in the West can compete with a team that has 4 all stars. No one in the East has more than 2 all stars while the Cavs have 3. What made the 90s interesting was that even though Jordan was so dominant, no team throughout the decade ever had 3 stars, so it felt like everyone at least had a chance. Barkley+KJ, Penny+Shaq, Payton+Kemp, Jordan+Pippen, Stockton+Malone. There were a lot of insane 1-2 punches and good 60-win teams throughout the decade. With the recent trends towards the two superteams, no one else really has a shot unless they also have a superteam. The NBA won't have parity again until Lebron and the Warriors core exits their primes.

Hayward and Griffin to Washington. Wall Beal Hayward Griffin Gortat? Porter and Morris and Bogdanovic off the bench? that would be interesting AF. Probably 0% chance of this happening, but this is possible since both are FA's and they might be favorites in the East.

I hate when old guys like Whitlock talk about everything being "bad" or "boring", like dominating just started. Every decade since 1980 was dominated the same way. 1980s Lakers 5, Boston 3, Pistons 1, Philly 1. 1990s Bulls 6, Pistons 1, Houston 2, Spurs1. 2000s Lakers 5, Spurs 3, Heat 1, Pistons 1. 2010s so far Dallas 1, Heat 2, Cavs 1, Spurs 1, Warriors 1. Notice the pattern?

2017 Playoffs haven't been that bad in my opinion, We've had some great series
Grizzlies vs. Spurs was a great series
Rockets vs. OKC was a good series
Cavs vs Pacers was a good series(Even though Cavs swept the games were close)
Jazz vs. Clippers was a great series
Bulls vs. Celtics was an ok series
Wizards vs. Hawks was an ok series..
*YOU GET MY POINT?????* People call it boring because they know that Cavs and Warriors will be in the finals again and I don't really see how that's a bad thing.. the finals are gonna be epic this year. Might go 7 games again.

The Cavs sweep the Eastern Conference: East is weak
The Warriors sweep the Western Conference: West is tough
Lebron passes up the ball to an open teammate: He's scared to shoot
The Warriors pass up the ball to open teammates: Good ball movement
Lebron asks for a playmaker: Lebron needs all the help
Warriors players recruit Kevin Durant: They are so unselfish
Lebron joins a 47 win team: Lebron sucks and can't win on his own
Kevin Durant joins a 73 win team: Warriors fit his playstyle and has the right to sign where he wants
Cavs draft Lebron, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. 3/5 of their starting lineup and 2/3 of their all stars: Their team is too stacked
Warriors draft Steph, Klay and Draymond. 3/5 of their starting lineup and 3/4 of their all stars: The Warriors built their roster the right way
Warriors blew a 3-1 lead to the Cavs: The NBA is rigged
OKC blew a 3-1 lead to the Warriors: The NBA is Fair and Square
People really find anything to hate on Lebron

the problem with the NBA is not that two teams are dominating the league. It's the way top players flock to the top couple of teams to chase rings, leaving other teams esp small market teams unable to compete. When the top players band together to form a superteam there is no level playing field. Players in the "other" teams lose motivation to compete because they aren't going to the finals anyways so why bother? It's a chain reaction that will lead to a 2-team league and people will get bored very quickly

Well, the warriors started it when they acquired another superstar to strengthen their line up almost eliminate competition today. we all know that big 3 have been around even before this era started. this era adopted the big 3 but warriors adding another superstar is a major major moved for trying to surpass the big 3 by assembling a super team. we never heared of the term super team until DURANT joined the warriors this season.

  • @tonyshlean

Blowouts aren't necessarily boring. What's boring is when teams give up the fight & stop competing mid series. You saw this with Cleveland vs. Pacers/Raptors....where your star players are bowing down to Lebron or being disloyal to their teammates.
Every team the Warriors have played has competed and fought till the end. They never said to themselves "Oh if we had Lebron or KD we would have won too."

The main problem with the NBA Playoffs is that there is a bigger differential in talent between Golden State and San Antonio than there is between San Antonio and Memphis.
The same can be said about there being a bigger gap between Cleveland and Boston than there is between Boston and Chicago.
The playoffs are boring and lack any type of suspense when we all know what will happen.

The best way to summarize why those two teams are dominating the NBA so much is because they have the most top 20 players in the league on their teams. The Warriors arguably have 4 of them while the Cavs have arguably 3 of them. The next best is probably the Clippers with Paul & Griffin. After that though, no team probably has arguably 2 top 20 players on their teams because each of them probably has just 1 (if any at all). Consequently, no team comes close to those two teams in terms of pure talent leading to why no one is really surprised seeing this happen because we all saw it coming once Durant left for Golden State.

This is just American sports copying the European soccer teams like Real Madrid an Barcelona. It gives the attention the the sponsor not the fans. It's bad for competitive sport. New rules should be put into effect on signing players for the minimum and salary manipulation. It's not fair overall.

pacquaio v mayweather? its more like paqcuiao v marquez...
1st fight: Cavs had too many injuries, that's why they lose
2nd fight: GSW could have won easily but they CHoked..
3rd fight: both teams are healthy and stacked! Repeat vs Revenge

Kyrie and Love was already great before lebron Wade and Bosh was already great before lebron. the roll players was either good or great before lebron. He benefits from being with them. His numbers the only one who goes up , they numbers were better without him

Back when Jordan played you had more than 5 elite/better than average teams in the league. Each team brought a different strength to the table, so you could tolerate seeing different teams end up in the finals (playing the bulls). The NBA now is so top heavy that, you wouldn't even want to see anyone else play besides the cavs n warriors in a 7 games series finals.

I don't think it's ruining the playoffs for the whole world, but it has certainly lost its flavor for me personally. I have no interest in any of the games that have been played in any of round two, I'm not at all interested in any of the conference championships, and I have less than zero interest in watching the same two teams play in the finals for the third, fourth, fifth, sixth straight year. Some of these players on other teams need to have better jersey sales so we can see different teams be successful.

Warriors drafted 3 of their big 4s and they cheated? None of the three guys, Steph Klay and Draymond, were considered having huge potential in their draft. Warriors built their own team, they made it better instead of trying to get other super stars to join.

"LeBron jumped from team to team to team" He's been on 2 franchises in his 14 year career. The one that drafted him, and the one he left (my team) to go back to the one that drafted him.
Quit acting like he jumped to Boston after they beat him, or the Spurs after they beat him, or... GSW after they beat him... like... someone... else.

The NBA has always been top heavy this is nothing new. The 70's were the only decade when there wasn't no dominant team and nobody remembers much from that decade. 60's it was all celtics mostly beating the lakers every year, 80s lakers and celtics dominated, 90s Jordan dynasty, 2000s lakers and spurs, 2010s whatever team lebron is on and warriors. It's always been this way

If there wasn't a Cavaliers, GSW would run away with it and vice versa. Be thankful we have two equally matched titans to watch and not some random average teams going on Cinderella runs.

I don't like dominance. I like winning. I wanna see Christmas day Warriors vs Cavs, the 2 relevant teams playing a competitive game. I like watching Warriors vs Thunder last year or Warriors vs Spurs (I'm a warriors fan). I don't like watching Warriors vs Blazers or Jazz, up 25 in the first quarter. There is a fine line between success and dominance.
Lebron James in 2011-2014, the eastern conference finals were interesting. He had battles with Paul George. The past 3 years, he has managed to coast through the ecf.

Well, imagine a team that beat one of these two teams? "One of the greatest underdog stories..."
Imagine those two teams in the finals, the two best teams in the NBA today, giving us an epic series that everyone will remember who has seen it?
This is what makes all sports interesting. You need heavy favorites, because then we will talk about dynasties or great underdog stories. If you have 8 teams that could win the title? Yeah, maybe interesting for the fans of those teams, but the rest of the world doesn´t care. We care about superstars playing against each other, and if a team with lesser talent rises to the top, we have the underdog story because those superstars have been beaten beforehand.

To act as if the Warriors and Cavs are evenly matched to sell ratings for the Finals is so idiotic. Stop trying to set LeBron up for failure. The matchup was even BEFORE Durant came. Now it's lopsided.
