Nice work out there on the lakers. Enjoyed the video. One tip to keep the fish in good shape is don’t hold them by the gill flap hanging with all their weight. On the bigger ones you can grab the tail like a handle and put your other hand under the fish just behind the head. Works well once you get the hang of it and is great for pictures and releasing
Awesome show James happy your back on the water. I can't wait till hard water and watch you and PJ hook into some eye's or crappie. Tight lines and stay safe
No longer do I wonder if or when you would be back. You're here and I loved the episode. That certainly must have made the arms tired . What an outing. Thanks for sharing. Now, let's see you top the opener of season 15.
Phenomenal show James have watched it 6 times! Matter of fact because of the video I booked with Scott for May 28th and 29th! What time of the year was this? Month wise.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV I can see that! You both have great personalities and great passion! I would have a smile from ear to ear if I got half as many fish :D
I know I’m late to the party here, but thinking of running out to peck this weekend, or next, or both to try and jig some lake trout.i have never been there, or done this before. I’m just curious os when your searching for groups of fish are you just running 2D sonar? Also what kind of stuff could you recommend looking at as a starting point? Thanks! Im from Devils Lake ND area and love watching your shows! Keep up the good work!!
Just a note the water is still open. Boat ramps are still usable... I don't know how longs it's going to last... I hit the shaft houses with ko wobblers and tubes.. 7 Lakers, 5 walleyes, 14 pike, 2 smallies...
I was curious if you weighed any of those Lakers ? and if so, how much did your biggest fish weigh ? I had a day at a warm water discharge on Lake Michigan, and my biggest was 18 pounds ! They are truly beautiful fish that fight like horses !
Any suggestions for the Onyx life preserver, that you are wearing for this video, and XLARGE big men finding one to fit. I tried at Bass Pro to find one but could not find any that would reach around my chest and snap together. Even the biggest they had seemed small and sat up high around my neck. Any ideas are much appreciated!
I have a question for you guys. I'm going up to Canada in August for a fly in fishing trip and I'm not exactly sure what rod and reel to get for the lake trout up there. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Fish are not held by gills they are held by the gill cover. Holding a fish by a gill cover is a very secure way to hold the fish and it does not hurt them in any way. Sticking your fingers in the gills of course would damage the fish and nobody here does that.
Best, most professional fishing show by far! Finally you're back!
So pumped you guys are back at it!! Always love Sunday mornings when a new episode pops up!!
Yes! I've been waiting for ther new season. You guys run ther best fishing show out there.

Welcome back!
Thanks Alex! Feels good to be back.
Wow, unbelievable day! Nothing like big ole lakers!
Right off of that very point, I caught 3 10+ pound walleye in 2017...
Phenomenal show James have watched it 6 times! Matter of fact because of the video I booked with Scott for May 28th and 29th! What time of the year was this? Month wise.
I believe it was the first week in May. Enjoy your trip with Scott. He's one of my favorite guys to fish with. Super good dude.

you guys mind if i ask what part of the res you guys are on usually stay towards the dam side
Looks like an absolute blast! Using heavy rods for this presentation, and what bucktail jig is Scott using? Thanks!
We were using medium heavy spinning rods. Bucktail was the Williamson Banjo Eye jig.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV Thanks!
Hey James what time year was this filmed?
we seen u fishing that spot!
1.5 Oz Jig.. curious what LB test line were you using? Thanks Enjoyed the video
20# braid mainline. 20# fluoro leader.

Where do you find those 1 1/2 oz VMC underspin jigs, James? I've searched online and can't find them...even on the rapala/vmc webpage.
Heaviest is 1oz. If PJ or I said 1.5 that's incorrect. 1 oz. Is the heaviest made.
thinking it might be time for TUCR to update their add
Any walleye shows planned before ice up?
Yes. We will be filming one today / tonight.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV wow that was a quick reply. Good luck!

Next time I'm jigging for Lakers I'm putting on the white socks and taking off the shoes!
What brand and model is that net you guys used to net the fish?
Ranger nets, I think it's a 9800TFB. I have one and REALLY like it.
IDO!
5th view and they’re back !
Ok... i really am a fan and im all about buddies slamming fish, but at the same time fawk ur hat dude. So not fairrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!
At a quick glance I thought that thumbnail was a monster Walleye lol anyone else ?
Do you plan on going out for Lake Trout ice fishing?
We did that trip last winter. It was awesome but we likely won't do it two years in a row. I'll drop the link to that Laker show in the next reply.

So you kill them by sticking your fist through their gills??? Not very professional!!!
