I am with YOU Rush! While I love catching anything thru the ice, there is something about doing battle with Lake Trout that just tops them all! Hope to see you on Peck this winter.
Hi Mr Howe just curious not asking a specific spot but since you know peck well i was just wondering where a guy who is walking and not using transportation could get into walleye and lakers??? I don't mind walking its just a big lake not being able to shoot from spot to spot with a snow machine or atv. I would appreciate any and all info thanks! love the content!
Hey Josh. Walking out from the "shaft houses", on the East end of the dam will be your best bet! We catch everything just out on that structure due South of them, with Lakers coming more out of the deeper water ti the SW of them. ALWAYS check in at the Lakeridge Lodge and bait shop for most current conditions! Good luck if you go!
Hi Mike! Our rates, for open water or ice on Peck, are $650 per day for first two people, and $100 per person extra, up to four in boats, or five on ice. Thats an "everything provided except fishing licenses" rate. Lodging is extra, about $75 a night for motel room (sleeps 1-2) and $175 a night for cabin (sleeps 4-6) Please give me a call if any further questions!
seems your drag is too loose to get a good hook set, those heavy 7/0 hooks need to hit hard to get in that boney mouth they have. I use a wally marshall crappie reel and 15lb Berkey Fireline or Power Pro and a flourocarbon leader. Everything you said is spot on about catching lakers. I love using the “VEX”. Been using Ugly Sticks for years, but would like to try a Haat Rod and put a Shimano Curado or an Ambassodor bass reel in it.
Ohhhhh baby, I can't wait to hook up on my first laker this year!!! So pumped
