Awesome channel and content. I’m new here but I can relate, I fish similarly on Lake Ontario. Love bobber and skein fishing as well as casting hardware for the king. Thanks for sharing, thumbs up from me.
It looks like some warmer temps are finally on the way. Hopefully all this snow melts off at a reasonable pace so all the rivers don't blow out before we're able to get on some good walleye bites.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV I think the walleye bite window this year is going to be a lot shorter with all that snow coming south! I live in southern wi so Ill be catching all the aftermath of you guys up north lol Might just have to get the boat out while there is still ice on the lakes in order to get in a river bite at all!!!
I didn’t catch what exact kind of Sufix braid your using and also what Lb test do you recommend? Really like the content you guys put out. I’d like to see more of these Salmon/Trout run episodes.
You guys should come up to the North Shore Mn and make a show on Looper fishing from shore in the awesome river mouths we have! Get them before they are gone!
In other words like every other ice angler InDepth Outdoors didn't even bother to try to get out on the ice this past week/end!!! Lol, believe me I know the feeling. Wonder if each state put a extension date on when shacks have to be off???
Love the fishing! All the salmon in lake MI are stocked. There is almost 0% natural reproduction in any WI tribs. All the salmon are gonna croak after spawn too, so harvest is fine. I will say the Lake Superior salmon are smaller on average, but taste a lot better. Happy Fishing!
so the salmon are mainly random hatchery fish that are fed pellets until they are big enough to be put and take sized then released into the depths to feed and exploit the big lakes bait fish. cool
They were planted in Michigan between 1966 in 1970 to eat the invasive species Alewife because people were crying about all the dead ones washed up on the beach.
The air went out of the ice fishing balloon about ten days ago. With three days of warm temps and rain in the forecast for Central MN conditions are about to get a whole lot worse before they get better.
It was too late in the run to get them to hit spoons and other hardware. When the fish came in two weeks earlier you could get a few on cranks but that bite was over. The fish wouldn't respond to anything moving. Like you, we would prefer to catch the fish using more aggressive presentations but in the end the fish decide.

James, you should try that from a kayak sometime. The Great Lakes Kayak Fishing Series has a Salmon tournament in early September at Manitowoc, WI.
Sounds like a good time to us!
I always try and just smash the like button straight away cause I mean come on like its not going to be a good show!?

First time for our crew and we loved it. We'll be chasing this bite again this coming season. Too much fun to miss.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV that same bite is sooo much better in Michigan. Same time of year and much better water clarity
@@codymoore1223 where do you think this show was filmed? 😁
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV my fault. Thought you were on the west side of the waterways as you usually are. Either way still my favorite fishing show

Looks like an old HT Panfish Special, definitely an old school POS haha.

Incorrect. Most of the fish we caught were naturally produced.

Not a big fan of bobber fishing. Would of been more interesting with spinners or spoons!

Ya because feeding spawning salmon gobs of roe and ripping spawning fish of there redds is cool makes me sick😔
