Being in the Air Force, stationed in Florida... seeing this reminds me of home. I’m from central MN and the winter was some of the best fishing ever! Thank you guys for putting the time and effort to make these episodes! Love it! Reminds me of home!
Tanner, we thank you for your service! As for telling people that you're in the military, never stop, even when some will try to shout you down. You've got the right to be proud when you're performing such honorable duty on behalf of the American people. Happy holidays to you and yours!
Whether they hate us or love us, my job is defend their right to hate us or love us. That’s why this is America and I love it! Thank you for the support IDO. Gonna be home for the holidays and can’t wait to hit the ice lol
I caught my biggest "ice walleye" on a 1/32 oz. Luv bug jig ! I love watching your show and can't imagine how much fun you guys have in the making of each episode ! I love the spot on the spot segments, they are helpful in a lot of situations on the small central MN lakes I fish. Keep the episodes coming !
I live in Detroit Lakes. I love fishing that lake but have only fished it open water. I've seen some 30" fish come out of there late fall. Great video!
Love the video, but not the ads on top of more ads. I don't mind the ads within the video as they have always been there, but now the additional ads included from RUclips is a bit much.
Its nice seeing you guys catching fish & having fun. My self I would rather have action than size. Not that I would turn down a 10" gill or a 30" eye. It just is better catching fish knowing that you are dialed in. It makes for a very satisfying day. Good job.
Great job James....Fished that lake many times over the past 20-25 years...before the freezeout of 2014 10-11" gills were plentiful. We could always catch eyes over in that area you were setup but they were not good tasting so we did not target them very often...too bad no crappies in there but glad to see that pond has recovered and hopefully the gills don't get pounded too hard and can rebound to the bigger sizes of the past
Actually the last time I fished out there was last summer. I caught 2 crappies. Both were around 11" long. Not sure how they got in there but i can see some giants appearing in the future!
So I was out on one of our local reservoirs here in Wyoming for an all night trip recently. I was marking fish all night but I couldn't get the walleye to commit. Do you guys have any hints or tips on some nighttime walleye go tos? Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!
@D L. ok. I'll just say maybe your ruler is broke or definitely missed about half the numbers Lol. There's absolutely no way you're catching 14" bluegills. Its not like well maybe its true. Because it's not. Like at all.
I just put up a dynamite one targeting larger fish on big rattler baits outside of detroit lakes if you'd like to check it out. I'd love to have a chance to fish with the IDO crew sometime around here.
Much appreciated, seems like every company that trys to make an actual ice fishing reel has all but one thing, so if Okuma adds the quick fold handle, with the long stem, wider spool, and smooth drag, well that'll be tough to beat
I live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and ice fish the Lake Trout in Grand Teton National Park. I'm heading home to NE South Dakota for Christmas and planning to do a little ice fishing. Do you think I could use trout jigs to catch walleye/bass?
Hey James quick question for you if you dont mind. How do you store your Lx7 do you keep it Charging 24/7 or plug it in periodically? unsure what is best for the battery long term.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV Hey James sorry one more question im contacting marcum aswell but wanted to get your opinion. ive never had this problem before i bought the lx7 last year only maybe used it a dozen times and my the wall plug light wont turn green after charging for a long duration. It does reach a full charge when i turn on the unit but the battery seems to drop down voltage really quickly. I haven't tested the battery yet with a multi meter but its a brand new unit so im not sure what could be the issue.
Hard to say for sure but if the unit is registering a full charge and you're getting 8 to 10 hours of runtime out of a fully charged battery I would assume there might be something wrong with the charger itself that's keeping it from turning that light green. if it was me and the unit seem to be operating correctly and I'm getting the runtime expected I wouldn't worry about it too much. On the other hand, if you're seeing reduced run time then it might be time for a new battery. But that's just me guessing based on the information you're able to provide.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV yea I believe I need a new battery but its just weird to me because I've barely used it I haven't got to test the full run time on the battery since this problem started occurring but its still under warranty so I will see what they suggest. I think it might be something to do with me keeping the battery charging constantly for a long period of time it reaches full charge on the unit but the light doesn't go green so we will see thanks a lot for the help appreciate it! Also Love the videos man you guys are great to watch take care
Not going to lie, I actually enjoy watching the ads on IDO shows. So much fun to see all the new products every year.
Spot on the spot is a great source of info. thanks...
Wow that's a dream day on the ice!!!!! Would love to live near that lake !!!! Great episode James!!
Watching to get myself in the zone before heading out!

Looks like I need to go find some winter kill lakes!!!! Good job Konnor on the smooth delivery!
I loved seeing a multi species episode great show guys
Great Walter action James and Konnor! I was fortunate enough to ice a few that size yesterday too on Clear Lake in Iowa.
Amazing episode as always
Thanks Joe!
Always fun to watch these videos
Love your videos gets me so pumped to go catch some giants
Hi, New friend here from Kansas and supporter! Take care and Happy Fishing!!!
Thanks Bryant! Lots more ice fishing footage coming your way! Hope you enjoy it.
Great stuff guys as always so cool you do same week/year episodes.
It takes a lot of hussle to get it done each week but we wouldn't want it any other way!

Jesse De Luca was thinking the same thing.

Good job by Konnor as James said was very good on camera especially for a young kid.

I really hope you guys go on a trip to saganaw bay this year
Sag Bay is on our hit list for 2019 as a top destination!
Sure wish winter would come lol still in the 40s and 50s here going to be a short ice season if we ever get ice
Nice video
I give Konnor a 10/10. Lets see more shows with KK!
Went out to red lake this weekend and we did really well 30+ walleyes a day average fish was 19 inches

Shoot me a message if you want to get some 10-11.5" inch bluegill and big perch or walleye on the red river through the ice ! Great video again guys.
@D L. 14?? You should start looking into chasing some records...
@D L. Sorry but unless you're fishing red ears out by Arizona you aren't catching no 14" gills.

James, love those okuma reels, but can you guys have them add a quick folding handle so I can pack it in my rod locker easier......?
We certainly can, and will, pass along the recommendation.
Much appreciated, seems like every company that trys to make an actual ice fishing reel has all but one thing, so if Okuma adds the quick fold handle, with the long stem, wider spool, and smooth drag, well that'll be tough to beat
What lake was that you were fishing on
DL lakes are very under rated. Ottertail Lake is the best!
what kind of forceps do you guys use?
Rapala
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV Thank you!
If you go on their website you'll find them under ice fishing tools. We use the stainless steel version so the hinge doesn't rust up.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV Awesome! Thank you!
Also that lake is stocked by the tribe's fishery dept.
Love seeing those vexilar guys using Marcums
I live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and ice fish the Lake Trout in Grand Teton National Park. I'm heading home to NE South Dakota for Christmas and planning to do a little ice fishing. Do you think I could use trout jigs to catch walleye/bass?
We're not familiar with what a trout jig looks like. We'd recommend small spoons in perch patterns as a good place to start.
What rod and jig do you use on your ifish pros?
Which navionics app are you using exactly to get lake maps?
When doing map study at home on my computer I use the Navionics web app. webapp.navionics.com/#boating@6&key=ow%7BpGr%7CdxP
When I'm on the ice I use the Navionics phone app or Hummingbird's FishSmart app depending on which app has the best map for the lake I'm fishing.
Hey James quick question for you if you dont mind. How do you store your Lx7 do you keep it Charging 24/7 or plug it in periodically? unsure what is best for the battery long term.
I always remove chargers from batteries once the battery has achieved full charge.
