I used to believe I was saved because I said a prayer when I was a young boy. I never fully understood the gospel until someone put the fear of God in me and I saw myself how God sees me. It changed my view of God and my view of myself. I am forever grateful for that. The fear of the Lord is a precious thing to have.
I too thought I was saved when I was 11 and wandered the world completely unsaved for 40 years, had I died I would have perished. Praise the Lord for changing my heart and saving me. Now I know Christ and He knows me.
Woah is those who have read Lazarus and The Rich Man, and do not believe to falling into Father God's hands casting them to an even worse fate which is Hell then the lake of fire, for fear of Jesus as The Christ is wisdom, because He will come to see the servants, knocking at the door?
My testimony is so closely related to yours 🙏 praise God that you received that message

36:47 It's terrifying for believers, too! I know our sins are paid in full. But, come on, even without eternal Hell, the idea of standing before Him and having everything known about us? How can that not be terrifying? Plus, I have been such an utter failure in life. It does terrify me.

Indeed it is terrifying. Even to imagine he knows our every thought,where our eyes wander and every word we speak daily.
Yh that one knowing everyone is going to know our foolishness... ARGHH... I hope everything will be in a secret court or certain sins will be censored to the public.
As a married man with a toddler and another one on the way, I struggle with lust big time. I have not backslid in months and months but boy do I want to every day. Some days I do not know how I can go on without flipping open my laptop. And I hear the devil's lie: "Just do it, He will forgive you"
Sometimes my feelings of unworthiness and weakness make me just want to give in and give up. I have been like this for as long as I can remember.
Also, the dreams do not help.
I have confessed to my wife, but lately I have avoided sharing these feelings with her because I do not want to lay guilt or responsibility on her. The pregnancy is taking a toll on her.
Pray for us please.
Prayers with you for strength and joy that comes from above, you can overcome these feelings

I can sympathize with you brother, yet I cannot say the same I have fallen recently I need the Lord’s discipline and for Him to give me a fear for Him and his word that has true affect in my life. I am desperate and I want to know and love Christ. I want to turn from my habitual sin and seek the pleasure found in Christ. Please pray for me I need Christ
I struggled for over 20 years. I finally came clean to my wife and started my walk in fear of the lord. Then I started speaking against it to other men which I feel like helped with breaking the bondage chain. I’m no perfect but I’ve been pretty successful with my thoughts remaining pure and not giving in for years now and can say that I don’t struggle like I did. You will overcome but you have to be upfront with confronting it head on and don’t hide your sin.
John 3:19-21 helped me realize why it was so hard to overcome for so long.

Please keep doing what you’re doing! God is working through your church for sure. And I’m no profit lol. But I can see it in my own life. I love Apologia church.
The fear of God brings comfort ultimately and security vs. being in rebellion due to the fear of ppl, compromising for their approval, and having that friction with God that brings about anxiety, insecurity, and self-loathing. Thankfully, if we have compromised - we can approach the throne of God through Christ with confidence/boldness (because of what He has done for us) and find grace and help in a time of need. "For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Thanks for preaching the TRUTH. I needed this reminder. What a blessing to embrace the fear of God.

The best play to be is to stay surrendered to the Will of God/Lordship of Jesus Christ and to have the fear of the Lord !

I remember when I was a kid and Jeff was Johnny Cage to me... could you imagine him teaching you karate and the word at the same time... Wouldn't pray for a failure of the church here but... he might be onto something additional here... 😂

Why teach about the fear of the Lord if you don't fear him by calling him three persons?
It is unconditional because if it wasn’t unconditional he wouldn’t bring a non believer like me and work in me to change and turn from my ways. The ones the hear the sound of the Lord but don’t go. It’s on them not on God
