Love your videos. So glad I found you. I bought my Janome MC500E last December and finally been able to figure it out. Ive had a MC300E for 17 years and decided I want bigger hoops. And bought the 500e thinking it would be easy since having the 300E..lol. Going from the card to a USB drive has had me so confused. I think your video is going to be a big help because you showed how to out a bought design from the computer to USB and then to the machine..thank you!! Only one other person on RUclips has done that. I will be watching your videos now for more help. Thank you again from New Jersey, USA.
Hi Kathleen, I’m so pleased that my videos are useful. I’ve had my 550E just over a year and thought it would be nice to share my journey and things I’ve learnt on the way. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you are enjoying working with your new machine. 🫶🏽💕
Thank you for your time and talent. We appreciate you sharing this with us! Have you thought about cutting out the letters BEFORE placing them down? Depending on what software you have, you can print out the design and cut out the letters individually. You can then remove the hoop after the placement stitching, iron the letters in place and put back in and finish the piece. Of course, as I said, it depends on the software you use. I use Embrilliance Essentials but other softwares work also. Again, thank you!
Hi, that’s a fantastic idea.!! That would save me a lot of time. I use Embird for digitising so I believe I can use this method. Thank you so much for watching, your support and suggestion, I really appreciate it. 🫶🏽
Hello, you made an amazing video. I will buy a machine this week, but im afraid because i dont know how it works. If I pay you money, can you be my mentor for an hour to explain how everything works? And give me some advice?
Hi. Thanks for this video. Its very informative and i just got myself a second hand janome 500e and want to mainly do applique work. Couldnt figure out how you first ran the needle to create the letters before placing on thee final fabric to applique it. Please need help with that.
I'm curious about the clips you used for the fabric. It's genius to pin the fabric to the stabilizer also! Never thought of doing that! I learn something new every time I watch your videos!
Hi Rosie. Thank you so much for this comment, I really appreciate it . It makes me so happy that I am able to help my fellow crafters. Hey my lovely, great work! I’m having issues with tension I think. ??? I’ve tried multiple tensions and even bobbin tensions. I’m having no luck. I’m currently trying the built in font ‘I’ test. But it’s looking like the ‘I’ is zigy zagy all around. Almost like it’s going to punch out. Even when on low tension. I even followed your video on cleaning my janome machine. Please help. What top tension do you use
Hi Toni, I have never altered the tension on the machine. Have you tried a different type of stabiliser? I’m not sure if this is a factor but my machine is set at 600 spm. I wish I could be of more help. If I find anything about tension, I’ll come back and comment. 🫶🏽💕

I know this video about a year old and hope you can answer my questions. I was told the Janome 500 thru 550e always needs to be oil, is this true. If yes, how many times does it need to be oil? And, I was told Janome is very sensitive to the types of threads used, is this true? Thank you.
Hi there. Yes it needs oiling regularly especially if you use it frequently. Although it a chore to oil the parts are easy to get to. I have only used the brothread embroidery thread and I’ve had no issues with this brand of thread.
