I am so glad i found this! I got my machine today and was completely lost as to how to hoop the shirt without going through both sides. Thanks for posting it was very helpful!
Wow you’re awesome! I recently bought this machine just for my business shirts to do monogramming. I got tired of waiting weeks. Now I’m blown away by what I bought 😂 dang!!
This is a really great tutorial. Bought a 300e in 2005 so time for an upgrade. This tutorial had just pushed me over the edge for getting the 500e. The quality of your work is just beautiful. You really explained the process very well. Thankyou, new subscriber.
Thank you so much for this video. My husband just bought me this machine for Christmas, I have never embroidered but have always wanted to . Your videos helped. Do you have a video on what supplied you need? What is the first thing you should do? Practice videos? Have you ever embroidered on a shirt sleeve?
Hi Tonya! Glad this video has helped you. I have not embroidered on a shirt sleeve using this machine. That would be very tricky and my not be possible depending on the sleeve itself. I do have a video on what supplies you need to get started.
I’m so glad I found you. There are not many videos on how to embroider using a Janome... well at least not using the MC400e (the one I just ordered/can afford). Question: are all of your designs 11x11?
When you purchase embroidery designs make sure they are in .JEF format. That is something I didn't know until after purchasing my Janome. If you have an Embroidery software like Embrillance than the format is not an issue. You can go in and save the design with the correct format in Embrillance. For me I'm a hands on learner so just practice with scrap fabric or old t-shirts until you feel comfortable to do the real thing. Following me on IG @malias_stitches so if you have any questions you can send me message.
Nice shirt. I have a 400e so I haven’t tried appliqué yet I was trying to figure out what buttons that you were using to trace out design I see that you used the second button are you still using that when you put your fabric on as well.
Oh, no! I just bought this machine and waiting for delivery. I didn't realise that you have to guide it all the time when doing a shirt? I thought you can just leave it doing the work after setting up, then comeback to it when finished. I bought it with the intention of doing a small business from home :( Thank you for this video.
This machine is a great starter machine for a business. Don't worry. You will do great. For shirts a multi needle machine is one you will not have to "babysit" because the arm of the machine goes inside the shirt. But they are much more expensive.
@@sam-maliasstitches, thank you. Yeah, you're right. I'll have that machine for practice and see how the business will do first, before getting an expensive industrial one. Thanks and best wishes xx
New to embroidery I have the janome 500e I can't figure out how to down load designs to a stick then download onto my embroidery machine . Tried some videos on the internet but couldn't get this to work for me. I can embroider with what is on my machine but would like different options. I need help. Oh my.
Thanks for that tutorial. I’ve noticed that my needle will hit and scratch the metal plate by the bobbin when embroidery. Do you know how to fix that ? Thanks
The only thing I can think of that would cause that is your needle is bent and may need replaced. If it's happening with a new needle then it may need serviced.
Someone had commented and now I can't find comment! The question was about embroidery files.... I purchase my embroidery files separately. They do not come with the machine. I purchase mostly from Etsy. I hope that helps!
Do you not use WSS on top of the shirt? Does it make a difference in the resulting stitch out or some machines stitches differently based on fabric? Thank you for such detailed information.
I do not WSS when using AJ Blanks. They are such great quality shirts there is no need to. But if I use a Granimals from Walmart or Carters I use WSS. These shirts are much thinner and the stitching sinks in.
I love and enjoy watching applique designs stitching ❤
Thanks for sharing

Thank you!!!!! Literally the perfect video. Very thankful for the help. :)
Great video!
Awesome tutorial!! Thank you!!
Thank you for the video. I like the way you do it. I tried it yesterday and it’s certainly the best way to hoop a tee. Success 🤗🤗🤗.
Great job 👍💕
Thank you very much
Woooowwww!!!...😍😍😍
Love it girl. Your daughter was there helping you and keeping company so sweet 😘
Beautiful
I just got a janome 500e to increase my hoop area. Thank you + 1 sub

1:15 🌷✨👏🏽 you did it! Can I ask, Please? You have a brother sew8ng machine, why did you choose a JANOME embroidery machine?
It was in my price range with the largest embroidery field.

Thank you Lupe. I'm glad you are here too. I have never used the 8x11 hoop on a kids shirt. I only use the 8x8. My designs are usually 7x7 or smaller.
@@sam-maliasstitches thank you sooo much!!😁😁
Do we need software when using fonts bought on etsy? Or just edit words on screen? I have janome 550e
I use Embrillance Embroidery software.
I love this and my grandson would love it too, where was this design purchased from please?
On Etsy.
Thank you for this video. Thinking of buying the same machine. What should I know before buying

No I don't use it after I put down the fabric.

Sorry I'm just now see this. Make sure you are saving the .jef format to your thumb drive or it will not show up on the machine. Hope that helps.

What thread do you use? I use maidera and my thread kept breaking when sticking out
I use madeira and New Brothread from Amazon.
Can you use a sticky stabilizer? (I did not read all the comments to see if you already answered this)
I haven't tried it but I'm sure you can.
Love it, what font did you use?
Thanks! Its a Harry Potter font I purchased from Etsy.
