I was looking around for piccolo snare drums after having had some back problems from lugging gear. Then Carter has to show off a beautiful sounding 14x8.

Carter has a way of making drums so musical and expressive. And why do we not see more 20,12,13 16 setups? So versatile.

So you tune your drums with a drum key in conjunction with a pair of ears ??? Not a Tune Bot ???

There is definitely something special about those shells. Having heard all of your stuff which sounds excellent in their own way, these drums do something unique that I can't quite describe.

Fond memories of my first ever kit which was a S/H Premier black shadow from Footes. It had an incredible matching 14 x 8 snare that could be tuned literally to any tuning and still sound amazing to my ears

Snare, kit, and playing are all beautiful! I was curious about your thoughts on the durability of the calftone and strata 1000 heads you have there. I'm particularly interested in trying the strata 1000's but I've seen people complain about the coating becoming sticky and coming off from contact with the inside of drum bags. I've had that experience with other Evans heads.

@cartermclean Hey Carter, thanks for your response! I'll definitely pick up a few. How about a video with more of a rock set- up with the yellow kit featuring the 24" kick? Those drums sound ridiculous!

A tad to low pitch for hip hop but could work, when equalized and tuned up a little.
