I saw him a couple times in the 80s, but never really looked at all these totally different live ones until now, and am so glad we have them. So many styles and eras, and finally just a band doing his songs like you could see anywhere, that happen to be sung by DB.

I saw Bowie several times. The most memorable time was at Radio City Music Hall in the summer of '75. The "Young Americans" Tour. ~ Young Americans is the ninth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 7 March 1975 by RCA Records. ~~ The album marked a departure from the glam rock style of Bowie's previous albums, showcasing his interest in soul and R&B music.~ Bowie would call the album's sound "plastic soul", describing it as "the squashed remains of ethnic music as it survives in the age of Muzak rock, written and sung by a white limey". He was amazing! Four straight nights in a row ~ (we only scrounged tickets for 2 nights) ~ but both those shows were great! Thanks for all the great memories David. RIP my brother. David was all about promising something beautiful musical...he never claimed it was the best...he just laid it out there and let us decide....I think this show makes it pretty clear what the decision is....and not just because we're feeling sorrow for a great man that's left.....the music that will never go away is the speaking point...

We all know Medical system has failed many but also despite difficulties seems miraculous it DOES serve so many as well as it does.

This was the performance that was broadcast in theatres across the world (and was recorded on September 8th, my 16th birthday!). On September 15th (showings were delayed in Canada), my mom drove me and my friend an hour and a half - on a school night no less - to a theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada so I could see it. Three months later, I rushed past floor security at his Montreal, Canada show and stood 10 feet away from him, stunned. I got sent back to my seat (side section), but for those few moments there he was. Right there. I'll never forget those experiences.

It was at The Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, London. I was lucky enough to be there on the night, there were only 350 invited guests via Bowienet. It was actually the launch of The Reality album & was relayed simultaneously to cinemas around the world. It a truly great night & a great gig although its missing New Killer Star.

Bowie started writing the songs for Reality as the production for his previous album Heathen was wrapping up. Some songs he wrote quickly: "Fall Dog Bombs the Moon" was written in 30 minutes. Other songs, such as "Bring Me the Disco King", was a song Bowie had tried his hand at as early as the 1970s and had tried again with 1993's Black Tie White Noise as well as Heathen in 2002. Bowie and Visconti produced both the stereo and 5.1 mix in the studio as the album was recorded. On the album's title, Bowie said: I feel that reality has become an abstract for so many people over the last 20 years.
