Oh yeah, a pissed off megatherium is no joke, the first time I walked past a megatherium with red smoke coming off of its head I was a little shell shocked, took wide turns whenever I walked past one after that

Nice video! Additional tip: Bring one or two, imprinted and mate boosted, megatherium in swamp cave and turn off harvesting. Let them be at the front while you follow on imprinted frog. Free cementing paste!
I just lost my megatherium in the lair on valguero, I got in there and my character instantly died to something random, went back in and died again, checked the wiki and in the notes it's like "oh by the way, *THE CAVE IS FILLED WITH POISON GAS* , so bring a gas mask or whatever " figure that would be important enough to put in the main summary, but I guess that's just me. It might still be in there, but I took one step through the door with my direwolf and almost died to meganuera, so that's off limits for now
You can go to tames where you see your character and pick your megatherium’s name push requests if your megatherium’s name does not show up that means it died
Their buff is no joke, big lesson I learned. I had just tamed one, a lvl 204 after tame with honestly not so impressive stats, I think 8k hp and around 280-320 melee but I was excited to start breeding with the one I already have. Before that I felt I should level it up a bit so I put the saddle on and went out to the swamp nearby the redwoods. I then ran into 2 MegaTs, they were only 5 and 10. I payed no mind to them, went into the inventory to lvl up some stats and organize... huge mistake. They got aggro'd killing some bugs, caught me off guard and proceeded to demolish my newly tamed MegaT and then me. 😢 I did manage to kill one with my shotgun but only after seeing these super low levels do more damage per hit than my MegaT. I was dumbfounded. I tried to retreat and they would catch me. I even tried to kill a small dino nearby trying to get the buff not realizing at the time It's achieved only from killing bugs. 😂
I JUST managed to get a lvl 120 male to start breeding (I'm playing mostly vanilla The Island SP) so it's great that I can level them ready for broodmother by harvesting thatch, instead of continuing to fail at finding a high level MALE megaloceros (in my game only the females are over lvl 100!!)
I love my bug fuzzy teddy sloths! These guys are OP and overlooked. They're awesome for gathering rare mushrooms in the swamp, cuz nothing bothers you.

Great vid phlinger. I love my megatherium and have used the to destroy all of the island bosses with 1 loss all told. They mince the brood mother, take normal damage verses the dragon and just rip the big monkey to bits too.
With a megatherium and doedicorous working together, you can have cementing paste for days. You won't need to worry about finding beaver dams with those two.
Inattacked one of these (it was lvl 25) with a new Sabertooth (110) I just tamed to test it out. He was glowing red and I didn't think too much of it at first, cause again, level 25. Let's just say it didn't work out too well and we had to run off with our tails tucked, never again, unless I'm on my Argy (Anny).

My fave map is Scorched Earth and with their being jugbugs everywhere the Megatherium is my main mount and I ALWAYS have the bug buff up and I just slaughter EVERYTHING.
I started up on the small islands of Valguero,I went over a hill and BAM,found a 140 megatherium.I tamed it.I had to sacrifice my 214 pteranodon though,forgot he was on neutral and the megatherium got the bug killer buff and murdered him.
Phlinger, I recently stopped playing ARK because I realized the grind of getting high level rexes to defeat the bosses. How hard is it to get the high level dinos and do you have any tips on how to build the rex army?
Find a spot with a high concentration of them and kill kill kill them until a nice lvl spawns. If you have to lead them into your trap and kill them with it. Spike arrows gun Etc or nom nom them with a tame. There's no Secret really tbh , just whipe the spawns n hope a high lvl spawns in their place.
Two things. If their level isn't a multiple of five in the wild, you should make sure to set your difficulty modifier to 1, and then go into your GameUserSettings.ini found in ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor, and add OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5 under [ServerSettings] for the max level of 150. Also just from personal experience, a journeyman longneck rifle can kill a low level argie in two or three shots. The first shot will aggro them, and you can use this to drop them nearby. Keep in mind that it is easy to underestimate their speed.
Take your strongest dino and go to the peak of a mountain. Use rare flowers. They wont stop coming so wait until there is a high level. But ride on a STRONG dino !!!
My megatherium cannot collect berries and I’m living in the ice biome and I tried using both left and right triggers on my PS4 controller. Is there a way to fix that? Or maybe I’m using the wrong button??
hey btw i have nocked out a megtherium with a bow not crossbow not long neck a bow woth alot fo tranq arrows so it is possbile to knock it out with a bow just saying it was a 100% base damdage bow aswell

Then you should of tried closing the game and go back in then it would of gone back to the last save possibly when it wasn’t there

Do Dino wipes and once you find a good mating pair of 150s breed them till a army forms. Also in printing helps
