I was totally unaware of Starfield until I bought a new AMD GPU a week ago. I had no idea it was such a big deal or massive game. I've been spending the last week just trying to get up to speed on the game so I'm ready for launch day. Thanks for the video! liked and subscribed!
Creating a second character on day one sounds silly but I'm doing that for sure. My primary will be a good guy, but I also want to make a pirate for the shenanigans!
I use dry run characters to test things like basic battle mechanics. Then after I get used to the game I create a more permanent character. For piracy my rule is simple - don't attack my ship and I won't spend a good chunk of the playthrough actively hunting down every associated pirate until there's nothing left while stealing fro them and if it just happens to be Crimson Fleet the it sucks to them. Now I wonder if we can be privateers instead just regular pirates.
Maybe Day 2 for me... Character One is just the stalking horse, seeing what works, what doesn't, what items I missed, what items I need, etc. Once I'm confident in my Mistake Threshold, I make my Campaign Character
I bet more than 75% of us are gonna make at least one Pirate Character Playthrough in our future Starbound Lives... it'll just be a matter of which Playthrough. :D
@@JoshuaGanoTyraxLightning Oh I'm going pirate right from the start. It really seems like this is gonna be the Bethesda game where choices matter and you can actually be evil. Throw in the western aesthetic and I'm going to be a pirate space cowboy

I've been a PlayStation guy my entire life, and I literally 2 days ago purchased the Xbox Series X to play this game and any other exclusives that come along. The PlayStation will forever be my console and my first love, but I never thought I'd actually cave and buy an Xbox. Microsoft finally got me. Now I own both. And number 6 though. I know that all to well. 😆😂
Dude it would be so hard for me to not talk about the game haha. But to stay in bounds of the NDA I'd obviously comply. I bet you cant wait to spill the beans after the embargo though!
NDA's aren't bad but this would be. I would constantly want to just tell someone, like it's right there. Idk their NDA word for word but my significant other would probably scream at me from annoyance and in this youtubers case his kids must hate him rn or too young and think he is the greatest thing in the world still.
I'm a multiple playthrough Mass Effect guy and an over decade-long EVE enthusiast. EVE in particular gives you a lot of scope for all sorts of space fuckery - small gang PvP, hot drops, wardecs - you name it. So I think I'll fit right in here even though we're talking single player. In fact, it looks absolutely awesome and badass.
This game comes at a good time for me. I'm starting to really suck at competitive multiplayer. I can't wait to sink my teeth into starfield and actually have a good time gaming again.
Dude.. same. I can't keep up with these call of duty kids anymore. I'm from the old-school call of duty days... they've turned that crap into Fortnite now.
I’ll be looking for a job as soon as the game starts! The last thing I want to do is start the main quest, and you only get your ship after you join Constellation. I’m really hoping there’s radiant job system for players, allowing them to board freighters and go to planets, moons, or asteroid belts and mine! I’d rather live in the game for a while before starting the main story!
Based on the conversation in promo materials that leads to character creation I think players start out in a mining outfit, probably long enough to find an artifact. Which I don't mind. That just means we get early practice with a mining laser.
I'll definitely be trying to 100% explore every planet or system I encounter - even the starting one - trying to uncover all planetary map markers - and then comparing them to another start to see what is different and notable for the randomness of generating tiles and encounters on the planets - that is after spending hours on Character Creation
One of the first things I plan on doing Day One is heading right up to the Starship Vendor and *finally* taking a good, hard look at all parts available. I know I won't be able to afford anything, but I need to know what's available and what's useful to plan future ship builds
I'm actually planning to explore around the starting area for a while before getting on the spaceship, so my first space battle might not technically be "day one". I do, however, plan to try losing on purpose to see what happens (maybe I'll just get my ship blown up by the enemy and have to load my last save, but since the player has other options like boarding enemy ships, perhaps the enemy ship will have those same options as well and board/rob/capture/etc. me instead) As far as creating a second, third and beyond character, yes I often do that, but generally not on day one.
I honestly think Bethesda games are ageless. I still play Skyrim and Fallout 4 religiously. Building settlements, having fun with mods, discovering quests that I didn't find the first 3 play throughs. I honestly can't wait to lock myself away when this releases lol
Just found out my GF is away visiting her mum from the 30th to the 5th and I'm off work all weekend all totally unplanned but the planets have aligned for me.
My hoarding usually is associated with crafting. But yes, I have to decide what to leave behind as I'm always getting maxed out. I usually don't make a new character until I've played my primary character to the max. I'll have at least 100 hours into my first character before I even begin to consider a new one. Yes, I deliberately get distracted with side missions. I often don't even make it to Whiterun in Skyrim or Diamond City in FO4 until I'm at about lvl 25-30. When doing the main mission, I like to be overpowered or if the game sort of parallels my level, I like having lots of skill options leveled up.

As for the character creator, I’m sure on early release night I’ll be in it for a good 3/4 hours before getting back to the game. I have a character and idea already settled on that and can’t hardly wait.
I liked the way devs explained that your experience will be different then others, even on the same planet. In bethesda fashion, I get the statement but I underestimate the true meaning. Once I experience it and see others gameplay, ill get a better understanding.

Your first day will be very different than mine lol. Generally, the first 2 hours is making the perfect beginning build. Then once I get the first moment to really look at the perks system and plot out the higher skills I need to get to, I'll probably redo my character because I realized I didn't make the perfect build. Then it's three hours of getting through that beginning slow part everyone is talking about. That's probably a total 6 hours. Finally, I'll get to feel the freedom of going out and doing whatever I want for another hour or two... Completing just a couple missions and getting paid. Then it will be my bedtime.
