- Being a small town girl from Denmark - one of the happiest countries in the world - I thought I wanted to share my 5 favourite ways of living a balanced, down-to-earth lifestyle filled with HYGGE. How do you experience hygge? Let me know down below!

As an introvert, my hygge is a cup of tea and a good book with candles in a clean organized space.

I became obsessed with hygge last year. After caring for my mother and then losing her in December 2017, I then having to clear out her home and move. I got rid of so many things that I kept just because. I was able to make my home a cozy and warm place that was clean and uncluttered. I come home and love what I see. I have cozy little books where I can grab a cup of tea and read a book, visit with my family, play a game with my granddaughter. I love this way of life and have felt more peace and happiness in my soul!
Learning about Danish culture is a real gift. Please share more.

We've been out for a walk in the country with our two dogs and we are now sat on the sofa. The dogs are both asleep and we are just relaxing with a drink before cooking a simple dinner, pretty much a perfect day.

hygge for me, hot chocolate with marshmallows on top, a blanket, a good book,, my dogs snuggled roundme, candles burning etc I found hygge last year and have been doing it ever since along with my daughter. it is wonderful!
For me hygge has been a guide to live the way I want but havent been able to due to depression and anxiety.

A few things that are hygge for me are curling up on the couch with a soft blanket, a pillow, a hot drink, and a good book. Taking a hot, relaxing candlelit bubble bath. Snuggling with my son. Playing a game with my husband. Going for a walk.
For me it's really hard to try to explain this to people who don't understand. My Dad is from Fjn but we live in Australia, Hygge is something that my Farmor and Farfar excelled at, I'm trying to incorporate more Hygge into my life ❤

Omg looking at old photographs is one of my favourite things to do! I have this massive box of physical photos of the first 10 years of my life, and then the rest is all on my laptop. I can look back at those photos for hours and hours

Love love LOVE videos about hygge! Saw my Danish friend today and told her I was going to go home and watch your video for more tips on this cozy feeling. My daughter's friend who grew up in Copenhagen told me in February that it's a hard thing to explain and really you can't feel it unless you're in Denmark. But he got a kick out of me having the book... the little book of hygge, which I had just bought before he came to visit us.

I just discovered hygge today and I can't believe I was already doing this for a long time. It's almost been 5 months and I did that without even knowing that it existed. I have to learn more about it now! I've always been a huge fan of taking time to savor my cup of coffee in a well chosen mug every morning. I love to lit candles in every room each night to enter in a cosy mode. I cherish every family moment and organise dinner with everyone each time I can. I love going to the cottage during fall season to enjoy the cold weather and the colorful scheme. Of course, I absolutely love going through old photos to remember all those beautiful memories. Also loved this video ;) :D XXX

Way to go indeed, lived for 2 and a half years in Stockholm, Sweden, some decades ago and I know of the wellbeing you folks have in Denmark and most of Scandinavia too, a whole lot better than in Mexico...but we're working on it and that's the spirit of things, to improve your like and satisfaction and not consider the money side only...Thanks for such a great video, most timely and well done. That forest you walk the dogs in looks exactly like our local forest that ends up on a beach in Wexford, Ireland, I love it there the sound of the waves helps clear my head when I'm feeling overwhelmed

I loved the SF video since I live there lol. My hygge is also walking my dog and spending time with my cats. Also coffee or tea while reading a book makes me happy! I also pretty organized and since I have decluttered my clothes and my house I'm happier! Great video as usual!

Lovely and inspirational. I live in the Peak District in England, it's a beautiful part of the country and me and my husband walk often in this area. It's very peaceful and mind clearing . A great way to charge my batteries! I must de- clutter my home, that's the next thing on my list of 'to do's' 😁

I just discovered hygge last summer (late to the party, I know, LOL) and it really has made getting through our harsh winters (near the Canadian border - it JUST started getting above freezing during the day) easier.

This was a nice video. My husband and I just got back from a long walk. Made coffee and had a piece of cake while watching this. Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily routine that we don’t make time for the fun things in life. Thanks for reminding me of that with your hygge video :)

Living in the PNW where it is grey and wet, we are snug inside our homes.. and that is hygge to me. I live on a hill with a view of mountains and trees, so being able to see that rugged view everyday puts me in hygge at a glance.Seeing nature from every window is the most hygge feeling for me. Also the presence of moss, lichen, and pine needles everywhere adds a magical feel to my stone steps and garden areas where I drink tea and read. Mundane sounds.. coffee brewing, the dryer, a crackling fireplace, a cat purring, a distant lawnmower, the hum of the furnace...also hygge :) Thanks for this view into your hygge, great video!

Hygge for my husband and I , kayaking in the summer time to our local lakes. Also we go antiquing on my weekend off. We also enjoy each others company, our daughter is almost 21 this summer, somewhat independent, we are able to do things that we are not able to do when she was young. Loving your hygge styles. Beautiful video. I like your vacation shots near my home in San Francisco. Since this is a popular tourist destination we get lots of visitors. I didn't know the word "hygge" until this video but sharing our home would be on the list of things that make us happy.

As a Norwegian also a nation with the word and feeling of Hygge I like to go camping or being nature/working with wood as Hygge.
Thank you for such a lovely video... my daughter and her fiance moved in with my wife and I 9 months ago after I was injured badly in a headon collision. Fast forward, I'm almost completely well, and we all regularly spend an evening playing the card game Pinochle and listening to 60s/70s/80s American music and talking. It is fun, provides me additional cognitive enhancement/ therapy, and also allows us to build happy memories that are balancing out the extreme suffering we each went through in my difficult recovery period. It is simple, easy, and free, we don't have to go anywhere, and it gives us that feeling once again that despite life's struggles, still life is good. Hugs to you! Shandra (rural North Georgia, USA)

I experience Hygee daily. I bought a couple of essential oil diffusers and I use them about u hours a day. It is so calming and my home smells like a spa. It also seems to relax my family and guests that come over too! My home feels more Hygee than ever. I have read a few books and I couldn't believe how much I actually do practice!!! Thanks for the video, I adore your channel and using Less is easier than I ever imagined. It is so freeing!

I am surprised that I have never heard the term hygge before (as I am Swedish speaking and Swedish and Danish are although quite similar). The first thing for me that comes to my mind as hygge, after watching your video, is being at the summertheatre. There I am with friends, am constantly outside and practice a hobby that I enjoy. Some days it is hard work, but most of the time it is just fun and extremely relaxing.
Your house is so uncluttered. I love it! My goals!! And my dog has probably saved my life. I get outside and do more walking than ever. I can't stand indoor gyms. I really enjoy being out in the sunshine with my pup! I love walking near bodies of water like your lake footage you shared. Great video really

Loved this! It must resonate with me because I have Danish ancestry 😊 I think I would have the same top 5, except maybe entertaining/having people over as that stresses me out! But definite yes to walks in nature (or beach), pampering and looking at old photos and videos 🙌

The problem I have with minimalism is that I love all my Nik-Naks they make me feel cosy and homely.

I love this idea of bringing 'Hygge' into our lives. I'm sure if people could incorporate this 'taking pleasure in smaller things' & not constantly striving for more & more they could feel less stressed & tired. We seem to be brainwashed into always expecting more. Let's learn to count our blessings & be content.
